I live in Moreleta Park and I drive past it regularly. It's so sad seeing it everytime I drive past it. I feel bad especially for the people who lived on that land who were relocated. Can you imagine how they must feel seeing that all those efforts to relocate them, uprooting them from a place that's probably been home for years for many of them, eventually amounting to nothing.
As far as I recall, the Builders hold a construction Lien over the Building and its site! They were never paid for the work they undertook, so are sitting tight. The interior is probably 75% completed, even the escalators are installed. Its draw card was to be that most of the Parking is inside the building, and each spot is no more than 25m from a lift or escalator- unlike the Malls in Pretoria where most of the parking is in open uncovered /unsecured parking area. A recent offer was made to the Liquidators and it is being scrutinized and discussed by the parties involved according to recent press reports.
I see it often. I think it can make for a great district hospital with a teaching university hospital. It can even be a science and innovation centre.

They should make it into a Live/Work space with apartments, childcare, offices, a market, a library and educational centers. Make the large green space a park.
No... make it into a technical university. Bring the Russians to introduce their way of teaching engineering and medicine; I would go so far as naming it Brezhnev Technical University in honour of the titanic contribution the Soviets made to the liberation of not just Southern African in general, and South Africa in particular, but the whole world.

The developers had good intentions amids the risks involved. So sad things didn't work out good. Their other shopping mall, the Zambezi Mall didn't do good either and was taken over by the Chinese and is now call China Mall.
