Worked at Jersey Mike's in high school and half of my college years. Good job for that age - and I learned a lot. Also their subs are way superior to subway. Especially the philly cheese steaks! The only downside was going home smelling like onions & vinegar every night, but it was worth it. I even got to meet Mr. Cancro when our franchises were bought out by Corporate Jersey Mikes - he was nice, down to earth dude - showed up in a Jersey Mikes uniform and actually asked to see how fast we were at making and wrapping subs. He seemed pretty impressed and proud of what we did at that store. Left there as a shift supervisor once I found a job in my college field in IT. :)
abursaw Jimmy John's sucks they can't even give you chips with your sub you have to pay extra for it their idea of a combo meal is just a sandwich and a drink I mean how cheap do they get. All the other places give you chips with your sandwich that doesn't make any sense. I mean their subs are okay but they're not great

I worked at a grocery store in a really nice neighborhood when I was a kid. They made the best subs ever. All the veggies, meat, and cheese, were all sliced fresh every morning from the produce and deli departments, and the buns were baked in the stores bakery.

We have a Jersey Mike's here in Waterford, Ct. I'm 75 years old and very opinionated. And I have to tell you that Jersey Mike's grinders are beyond good. Although, there is a place in East Providence called the Italian Corner that comes very close. Especially the mortadella grinder.
Jersey Mike so much better in quality than Subway. My only critique is that I like a lot of pickles, mustard, and jalapeños on my sub and I can't get Jersey Mikes to accommodate that. I do eat there most of the time I want a sub but sometimes Subway for the customization.

The subs are of exceptional quality, consistently well made and delicious. You can custom make everything to your heart’s desire. They are well priced and worth every single penny. They offer kids subs, small, medium and giant subs with all the fixings. Well worth it.
Jersey mikes is overpriced. I can get a bigger sandwich at subway for the same price as one from jersey mikes. When it comes to sandwiches, I prefer value and quantity over quality.

We are sooo happy to help you make the sub of your dreams, and with our fresh bread and ingredients we can do that... but at about 8:40pm-9:00pm we are in the process of closing shop and it is SUPER hard to supply you with a super fresh and delicious sub while also keeping our grill/slicer clean. Honestly this is the closest thing to any local sub spot you’ll get nation wide. Born and raised in Jersey I know a good sandwich and they make a good sub sandwich.
Born and raised in NJ and never really ate or bought theirs products. In 1999 moved to the Jersey Shore and found that JM's was very popular and even had small franchises inside supermarkets next to the deli counters. Anyway broke down and got their subs and found them to be freshly sliced and the breads were fresh and good. Made to order subs that I have yet to find in Va. Yes there are "Jimmy Johns" but they are not as good and the meat is sliced so thin you can read a newspaper through them. And my favorite sub is Ham, Provolone, and Salami with oil, vinegar, lettuce, tomato and onions. Simple and good. How ever after finding a Jersey Mikes here I noticed that the bread is NOT the same and their idea of Ham is totally different. Even so JM's is the best sub makers I have found.

In my experience Quiznos makes much better sandwiches than either Subway or Jersey Mike’s, but it is getting harder to find one that is still in business.
@@armuk I will say it is kind of a tough industry just because you are the one that sick, tired, and impatient patients use as a punching bag. Like I get it, no body likes being sick and having to wait in line to get their meds or have to make a million phone calls because their health insurance isn’t cooperating with us, but as a tech you hear a lot of negativity. So you kind of have to be a little thick skinned, which I wasn’t at first. But my coworkers are super awesome and we all help each other out. It’s good pay some places, and I enjoy learning something new, but I just put out that warning to others considering. You’re helping people all day, but you don’t always feel the appreciation. I feel like that was a lot and kind of a ramble lol but I enjoy it most days
I can tell you in all the states I have lived. It is the best sub and freshest sub out there and I have tasted alot lol. As far as healthy .. we make our decisions. That is up to the consumer.. people can pick what they want.
Your comment made me laugh. They replaced subway? We all think we know why that is. Not to hate on Subway but they need to do a employee overhaul. If you are going to hire some high schoolers (the subway store here in my area is high school kids for the most part) hire a store manager as well. Too many times Ive witnessed them messing up the orders and the kids cant even answer the customer when they get upset. I make it easy for them and order something basic.
Mike's it's exp anymore not many people can touch it...15$ for a full sub!!! It tastes great don't get me wrong but for the money I can go to a real restaurant. Haven't been there in 2 years.

When they opened a new store in Edina, MN free sub coupons were distributed to surrounding retail stores; I've been a huge fan ever since. The local supermarket frequently has a $2 discount coupon printed on the back of the receipt.
Starting work there next week after quitting my job at target. Much better environment, better pay, better hours. It’s hard work, but that never seemed to matter at target. As a big corporation, they didn’t really care about their employees. Jersey Mikes is a far better company.
Firehouse was alright, but they closed their only location by me. Long Island is dominated by local mom and pop sandwich shops so these corporate guys got it bad out here
I ate at Jersey Mike's once, and while the food was good, I was disappointed that there weren't more topping choices. Subway is the better choice for me. Jumping in on the line is very impressive and it will garner dedication from the staff.
I work next door to a brand new Jersey Mike's, and we go there for lunch too often because it's great, and the employees are awesome. I'm gluten-free, and they clean the area for me before making my sandwich. Most of the time, I'll get the tub so as not to make them take more time than needed. The maternity leave issue, wow. I hope they've updated their policies on that.
Nobody was happier to see Jersey Mikes in Washington state than I was. I could live on #13. I'm a transplanted Jersey Girl and it's a taste of home. It makes Subway cry.

It's ok but overpriced for what it is. I've only gone twice but I prefer Firehouse Subs and Penn Station East Coast Subs. Both are way better than Jersey Mike's.

Seriously being from Massachusetts right outside of Boston there are so many wonderful places to have a sub I currently reside in NC and if it wasn’t for Jersey Mike’s there would be no subs worth eating it is a little pricey but considering it’s the only choice worth even touching it’s well worth it!
Crazy a coach has that kind of money sitting around especially back in those days, thats the equivalent of around $1.3million today converting. I stopped eating at Subway once I moved where there were Jersey Mikes.

@@armuk I will say it is kind of a tough industry just because you are the one that sick, tired, and impatient patients use as a punching bag. Like I get it, no body likes being sick and having to wait in line to get their meds or have to make a million phone calls because their health insurance isn’t cooperating with us, but as a tech you hear a lot of negativity. So you kind of have to be a little thick skinned, which I wasn’t at first. But my coworkers are super awesome and we all help each other out. It’s good pay some places, and I enjoy learning something new, but I just put out that warning to others considering. You’re helping people all day, but you don’t always feel the appreciation.
I feel like that was a lot and kind of a ramble lol but I enjoy it most days

I can tell you in all the states I have lived. It is the best sub and freshest sub out there and I have tasted alot lol. As far as healthy .. we make our decisions. That is up to the consumer.. people can pick what they want.

They're really expensive compared to other sub makers. The one here that replace Subway does seem to be void of customers even during lunch hour.
Your comment made me laugh. They replaced subway? We all think we know why that is. Not to hate on Subway but they need to do a employee overhaul. If you are going to hire some high schoolers (the subway store here in my area is high school kids for the most part) hire a store manager as well. Too many times Ive witnessed them messing up the orders and the kids cant even answer the customer when they get upset. I make it easy for them and order something basic.
Mike's it's exp anymore not many people can touch it...15$ for a full sub!!!
It tastes great don't get me wrong but for the money I can go to a real restaurant.

@@jojosmith1097 Ye, how hard is that? I drink a lots of beer before ordering pizza. It's a lot easier to make a sandwich, when drunk, than going out again to pick up food.
When they opened a new store in Edina, MN free sub coupons were distributed to surrounding retail stores; I've been a huge fan ever since. The local supermarket frequently has a $2 discount coupon printed on the back of the receipt.

Starting work there next week after quitting my job at target. Much better environment, better pay, better hours. It’s hard work, but that never seemed to matter at target. As a big corporation, they didn’t really care about their employees. Jersey Mikes is a far better company.

We discovered Jersey Mike's about two years ago!We go there about every two weeks!When you get the extra oil and tomatoes it makes the sub better!
Been a customer for years and every person I invited to Jersey Mike's has never been disappointed.

Firehouse was alright, but they closed their only location by me. Long Island is dominated by local mom and pop sandwich shops so these corporate guys got it bad out here
I ate at Jersey Mike's once, and while the food was good, I was disappointed that there weren't more topping choices. Subway is the better choice for me.
Jumping in on the line is very impressive and it will garner dedication from the staff.
That's the thing I miss at JMs...I do like the veggie options at Subway, spinach, bell pepper, olives, cukes, etc.
I love Jersey Mike's, but they use low-quality deli meats. Upgrading a bit on the meat quality would make it even better.

I agree, I've been to the local one twice and wasn't impressed. Especially at their price point. Schlotzsky's and Quiznos were better.
The meat is equivalent to boorheads it's great quality.

I drive a about 25 minutes to go to Jersey Mikes Passing 3 subways stores to get to the good food
I work next door to a brand new Jersey Mike's, and we go there for lunch too often because it's great, and the employees are awesome. I'm gluten-free, and they clean the area for me before making my sandwich. Most of the time, I'll get the tub so as not to make them take more time than needed. The maternity leave issue, wow. I hope they've updated their policies on that.
GOD I hate it when people order their subs giant and I have to stuff them in those tiny bags
Nobody was happier to see Jersey Mikes in Washington state than I was. I could live on #13. I'm a transplanted Jersey Girl and it's a taste of home. It makes Subway cry.

Jersey is home if the sub/hoagie, plenty of great sandwich shop’s to choose from, Mike’s is one of the few chain franchises to get it right, maybe because they were the first...love this place.
When I first tried thi place, I stopped going to subway. So good.

It's ok but overpriced for what it is. I've only gone twice but I prefer Firehouse Subs and Penn Station East Coast Subs. Both are way better than Jersey Mike's.
I had to leave Subways alone. Once I discovered Jersey Mike's, I never looked back!
This and Firehouse are the only places I go for my subs.

it taste good but 4.00-5.00 more on average for what you can get at other places while fast food places you can fill up for that much total. if you wanna eat this might aswell make it at home

Seriously being from Massachusetts right outside of Boston there are so many wonderful places to have a sub I currently reside in NC and if it wasn’t for Jersey Mike’s there would be no subs worth eating it is a little pricey but considering it’s the only choice worth even touching it’s well worth it!
