Got two model 65 taurus revolvers, and older production one made in the late 70's and a newer model, both just as accurate and reliable as any Smith or Ruger wheel gun I own, colt and manurhin as well.
Im also doing the grip change to wooden factory grips. Found a set on Fleabay, and were around $25 shipped. Very slightly used, and fit perfect. My 66 is blued vs the parkerized look black. Blueing is deep and really nice. Good gun. Mine has the extended rib like the vids.
Nice you own one from the 90's. I only own two revolvers, Taurus 22 & RIA 38 Special. For me I'm not a revolver fan due to capacity & cost. I had seen some new stainless steel Taurus 357 mid to upper 300. If I see another one in that price range I'll pull the trigger, lol!
Some of those newer Taurus revolvers that have a medium frame and a 4-inch barrel, have 7-shot cylinders. I'm still considering getting me a Taurus. I like blued finishes on my revolvers. For grips, I can take either or, wooden/traditional or rubber grips. I have a European American Armory EA/R Windicator J-frame .357 magnum with a 2.5 inch barrel, blue finish, and rubber hand grip. It's a good little gun. I paid $325 for it brand new, that price included the sales tax and background check. My little .357 serves as a bear/mountain lion/razorback dispatching gun and as well as a vehicle gun.
I have one just like it they are pretty rare. I think I got mine brand new in 1990 ish $170 NIB. I put some Rouge rubber grips on mine. It helps with spank and recoil. Is the barrel 3 inch?
Beautiful firearm got one almost identical found it at a pawn shop. Looks almost identical to Smith & Wesson except for the price tag LOL!

I just WON mine on auction and am changing the rubber grips for the wood
