Thank you for sharing this. I just changed the batteries of my grandfathers old tc2 with your help. Now I have a really cool vintage watch that can remind me of my grandfather every day. This has a special meaning for me.

That case back ring and case back notch is the same as the Bulova Accutron. Great vid, thanks for posting!

Very interesting and enjoyable vid, I notice that for a name, Omega, it seems to treble the price compared to a Pulsar or Hamilton. Lovely watches all the same. Thank you. Graeme.

Nice to see an alternative to the SASM module. Sometimes you can fit a 32.768 KHz oscillator module in place of the original crystal. I found some that draw just a couple of milliamperes.
Now I have seen your modules and your website, I'll probably buy a Pulsar LED watch again.

      Hi Ian,
yes, one can replace the original modules non functioning oscillator circuit with an external oscillator module, they are generally low power in to milliamps range, but even that is still too much power consumption and the batteries would have a short life. The original module power consumption is about 3 to 5 micro amps.

      Hi Ben,
I think those oscillators drew 5 micro amperes.

Thank you for this, I have a silver model. I just changed the batteries out but could not get it to work. My writing displaying the battery directions was unclear but with the video I got them in correctly and now it functions. Figured out how to set the time with the magnet and now the date.

I am very glad you got it to work and that my video was useful. There is something magical with these old LED watches. look after it and don't get it wet!
As soon as the battery dies, replace it. If you are not going to use it for a long time, take out the batteries. The best batteries to use with these LED watches is Swiss Made Renata type 357 Silver Oxide Battery. Only use Silver Oxide type, do not use Alkaline Batteries!

@@ArmyRadioSales Hi, I have had two of these old LED watches die on me and I'm trying to figure out what I can do / how I should fix things. I used Alkaline batteries -- could this be related to the problem? Is there something about the batteries that may cause damage?

I believe I have this replacement in my watch. When I replace the batteries I simply get a LED display of “PLT”. Do you know what this could indicate?

The new module looks much more recent technology. Does it come from Omega as a replacement?

What is the small circular gold/copper next to the magnet? I noticed you didn’t put that back in. I have the same and ton’ know where that belongs.

Excuse my ignorance, but where should I attach the clip of the ground strap? To the watch band?

  • @THYT

Can customer order the module and transplant it to the faulty watch on their own?

Hello sir, do you use a "ground strap" when working with the watch? over what surface do you place the watch to avoid damaging the glass?

    • @ArmyRadioSales
      @ArmyRadioSales  10 років тому

Yes I use a ground strap, but I don't like them on my wrist so I have made a belt clip that grounds me instead.
A soft pad is used not to scratch the watch.

I would very much appreciate it if someone could explain the differences between the Time Computer 1, and 2, (and 3 if that also exists. Witch im not completely sure about.)
Anyways. I personally think that the Omega Time Computer is one of the most beautiful and coolest looking watchmodels that i have seen so far in my life. Not to forget the fact that they actually where made as early as in the 70s, and that they where among the first watchmodels in the world that had certain functions wich was based on some totally new kinds of technologies. This resulting in that the Omega Tc and some of its functions soon being recognized as big milestones and breaktroughs in the watchmakingscene.
All of the amazing history behind the model combined with the awesome looks, makes this a truly epic "wanna have piece" in my book.
And thats why im currently looking at buying one.
Because it is just a to awesome watch to not own. Especially if you have a big interest in watches as i do.

Wille Thuvesson The TC1 has one button and could only tell the time, the TC2 has 2 buttons which could show the time and the date. The button on the right is the time button and the left one is the date button. there was not a TC3, they renamed them to Constellation, these had one button and could do the time and date using the one button. The TC1 and TC2 in my mind are the best looking LED watches of the 1970's.
