This was a fun quiz, but it was kind of annoying to have to constantly be adjusting the volume. Could you please try to make the volume a bit more even in the future? Thanks!
Thank you for this remark. I try my best, but it's not always easy. It depends a lot on the video quality. But I will try to find more means to improve. Thanks again 🙏
@@BalletQuiz It's also possible that it was just a "first video" thing. I've now done your Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Don Q quizzes also, and those didn't have that issue. So maybe you already figured out how to fix it. :)
20/20 Petipa but a couple of tricky ones in there - two pieces [i'm not going to spoil it for others although some may have already done so] were written for other ballets and then interpolated into other ballets, from where they are better known and where they are credited here Another ballet has two [nearly] separate scores both performed today and you have pieces from both. There is also a 3rd score that has been recorded on video in the1980s that includes items from both. And you also put in a known, original but alternative version of a variation from an iconic pas, which is a great piece
I tried this one and I turned out rather bad....(I only felt safe with Tchaikovsky, Delibes (Coppelia), Stravinsky (Cinderella) and Prokofiev...and Le Corsaire). I definitely need to expand my musical knowledge of the other ones....(; It's hard without pictures ..were they famous pieces? I didn't know that the full Carnival of animals counts as ballet music...
I'm glad this motivated you to learn some more! That's one of the reasons I make those, to expand my knowledge, and, hopefully, that of other people who love ballet. For the carnival of the animals, I don't blame you at all. It has only been choreographed recently (2003) with Saint-Saëns' full music.
@@BalletQuizwhat I feel would be a way to improve it , for my taste, is that you perhaps only use music at first, and then as second help show then a picture. And perhaps it’s also better to use for iconic ballets, like Tchaikovsky‘s ones, rather less known pieces and for less known ballets more iconic pieces.
@@felicity1877 On the contrary I appreciated the more obscure ballets. But perhaps it might be nice to have labels as "easier" quizzes to have the more iconic ballets and "harder" quizzes which have the hidden gems.
Well, sadly I must admit that i did not do as well as I had expected. However,I qualified for "Pavlova, Award of Wisdom" 😁 so, I'm content to be in the Good company of Pavlova!! ( Nadezhda or Anna, they're both Ballet Legends! )🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
More than 80%. Not bad at all. Many of my favorites in your quiz. I'm no dancer, I only love ballet music (and watching others dance ballet).
Ballet music is why I started this channel, I love it! I used to be a ballerina a long, long time ago 😂
Thanks, fascinating quiz to do. I got over half correct. I love it that you included at no 18 the alternative Black Swan variation.
Thank you so much for your comment! You did very well! This is my favourite black swan piece, so powerful!
@@BalletQuiz I love it too!
Yess! I love that, too!
@@BalletQuiz yes it sounds both bird like and menacing with a bit of Russian folk melody thrown in
Enjoyed this one a lot!
I'm very glad to hear that ! Thank you very much for your comment
20/20! Love these quizzes.
Yay! Thank you so much ❤️

@@BalletQuiz Je vous remercie pour ces précisions. J'ignorais l'existence de ce ballet chorégraphié par M. Wheeldon.

Nr4 is used in paquita but in origin it is from le pavillon d'Armide by Tcherepnin. Just discovered your channel, i love it ❤
That is a very good point, thank you! I'm so glad to welcome you in the ballet nerd family ❤️❤️
