I checked in with you, because this one was tough. About 8 people (from just 12 comments) on Doug's channel reported failing, with 3 or 4 of them not getting A SINGLE category. Ouch. Also, both Doug and Art failed this one pretty badly.
You and I did very well to complete it.
My thinking was extremely similar to yours. I did not enter any categories until I was sure they were right, and I correctly identified the hair salon category, but I also spent a lot more time on it than you did. I left it for an hour. I finished my last 3 Spelling Bees, and came back to Connections with fresh eyes.
The keys to this one were BOLT, ROD, CHAIR, and STRIKE. IMO.
Great job getting this done. I’m still angry with myself for abandoning lightning so quickly!
This Connections was brutal. Always reassuring to find out I'm not the only one who struggled with this one!
At least with strands, we can ask for a hint. This is the puzzle that always scares me the most! 🤗

Yeah me too.
I always do my puzzles in this order:
Wordle, Spelling Bee to Genius level, Strands, then Connections. I use all 3 of the others to warm up my brain for, Connections.
(Then I finish Spelling Bee whenever and however I feel like it. There lots of hints available for anyone who might be interested in hints for Spelling Bee - - from tiny hints to big hints.)
Craig, did you see my comment about several other people having a lot of trouble with it?
It was hard. I didn’t get it.
