My very first job, in the 1980's, was in a print shop. This little tip might be helpful to you. You can glue all of your pads at the same time. Stack them all together with the chipboard separating each pad. You can add a few extra sheets to the top of each pad so you can tear them off if the top sheet gets messed up as you're separating the pads. Place the stack neatly on a scrap piece of chipboard and place another scrap piece on the top. Place heavy books on top for weight. Use a small paint brush to apply the glue, taking care near the side edges. Let them dry and then use use a dull blade (a metal ruler or a butter knife would work) to slide under the chipboard separating the pads.
I've been stamping for almost 30 years and I can't count the number of times I've stuck a hand or a finger or an elbow into an ink pad that is open waiting for me to use it again. Your trick of flipping the ink pad upside down onto the lid without closing it is brilliant!!! I enjoy your channel more than most as you are not always trying to get your viewers to buy new things but see what we have with new eyes. You do a great job too. Thanks for your videos and the great tip!
Yes so true! Also love Jennifer mcGuire but, lately hardly watch anymore (really a shame, cause she also has such brilliant ideas) cause there are so manynew products, they make want to keep buying and... I really do noneemorcrafting supplies, so YES also a reason why i rather watch this channel 👍😘
honestly i love some new toys, but it's not realistic or wise to continually buy new things. I was with Stampin up for ages when i first started out and i spent every penny i earned buying their new stuff. It's not worth it at all! It's stressful and fills your house so quick. I think it's better to focus on the technique rather than the products so that anyone can create. The majority of my income now comes from UA-cam, so it's so awesome just creating and creating things that others can create with what they have as well.
What great gifts these will make, my daughter works from home 3 days, then goes into the office, she would love this, she’s always taking notes, or making lists. You are so talented Sasha, now you have the X tool also to even better your skills. Tysm
These are great! I just googled: 100GSM to lbs. paper weight comparison chart came up. 100GSM in bond paper is 27lbs. In text book it’s 54lbs. I’m in Victoria BC Canada, I got my stamp positioners in Walmart. There is also various styles in Amazon that cost much less than Misti. Just for those on a very tight budget like myself. 😊❤️🇨🇦
You’re most welcome. I have problems with the cost of most supplies, especially with the exchange from CAD$$ to US$$. Then the horrendous price of having it mailed! You’d think the items would be in a giant crate not an envelope! I’m waiting for 1 item now from the US. My envelope is getting a tour of most states before it enters Canada! It’s probably travelled more than me! 🤣🤣🤣
@@cathylaycock5598 LOL, here in Holland it is the same!! Buying from SSS also adds VAT and shipping 😪, i only order when i LOVE LOVE LOVE the products, and just a few, and no more orders than ones or twice a year 🫣🙄
@@cathylaycock5598 oh i remember that well when i was living at home in AB! I really dont get why it's got to travel all over the place before making it's way north of the boarder!
In Ontario I got a stamp platform at Walmart also. I think it is called “Hampton” a teal blue colour. Smaller than my Misti great for travelling with. I bought the Misti when it first came out so there weren’t many others on the market at the time. The one I got at WM is almost identical and I only payed $20 for it. It is expensive to get anything for paper crafting in Canada. I love Nuvo drops also, but now finding it harder to get. Mailing is stupid expensive. I do order from Ali Express, but it takes forever to get anything and not always the best quality. But heh it is cheap… 17:18
I love these and especially the Sarcasm and Stripes set. I had absolutely no idea you could make homemade notepads - what a wonderful idea! I'd love to make mini personalised ones for the kids in my class and as gifts for family.
Great idea for kids party and thank you gifts, fun get togethers giveaways, wedding favours and just when you need something and depending on the decoration. Thanks Sasha you are very inventive and talented.
This is an absolutely fabulous idea. I love it and now that I have been beautifully instructed on how to do it, I can make my own if I wish. You are a great teacher. Love your ideas. ❤❤❤❤
Fabulous tutorial, I have just found it and took a million notes and will give it a go. One of the tips for heavy card, chipboard etc to cut it. On the paper trimmer you use the scorer first and run it up and down several times pressing gently and then use the cutting blade, it goes through easier most of the time. I am looking forward to putting together these paper pads. Thanks for all you do.
Yes! Working on it. I have so so so so so much to sell and clear out, and all those things are currently cluttering my work space, so im just trying to organise myself a little more before i do the grand unveiling. It's utterly amazing though and i LOVE my new space
PVA wood glue will work also and was used at the Printers I used to work at. They were always making printed notebooks. also an inexpensive option available at most hardware shops. Hope that helps people. 😊
Absolutely awesome. Fabulous idea. Plus the Teacher gift idea. Ingenious Sasha. I always use Pinflair Bookbinding Blue so I'll have a go wotjnit5💜💚💜 xo
These are perfect for my mall friends at Easter. I can make them different and include some chocolates. Your tips were dead on. Thanks from Canada. (Mary)📝
This is great information! I have a small paper pad that came in the front of the small yearly calendar book that I keep in my purse. I mostly use the pad for my grocery lists. Now I know what to do when it runs out! Thank you!
Hi Sasha, I enjoyed the video on making paper pads! I'd made some years ago, without the benefit of a stamp platform, but this way looks so much easier! I wanted to share that Craft Stash does deliver the stamping platform to the US. I ordered the Creative Craft Products one October 2022 and absolutely love it. The price is great! I do have a misti one, but like the Creative Craft one better.
@Sasha Reade Hi Sasha. I'm going into hospital this Thursday coming for a hospital procedure to see why my left kidney is swollen. Other than that, I am well, thanks. How's your mom?
Hot glue also works really well for this. Just use a scrap piece of chipboard or old credit card or whatever you have to smooth the glue and bonus: it dries super fast!
Hi. Thank you for sharing this, I'd almost forgotten about these notepads. I made an A4 sized one for my parents some years ago to keep next to their phone and I made a cover for it so that it was refillable. Thanks again
Love this idea! The possibilities are Endless! Thank you Sasha, once again, for bringing us a Great project! 🤗 Lots of Love & Crafty Hugs, My Friend 😊 Blessings
Fantastic!!! I love this idea... I have really enjoyed embellishing and decorating pens in the past and this is what I need to compliment them!! You made it simple and sweet, handmade yet professional! Thank you!! ❤
Spotted the glue stand straight away and was googling for one as I watched your video 😊 FYI you can use a strip of cardboard front and back under the clips to minimize dents.
What a fun and adaptable project! These have the potential to make terrific gifts! Thanks for the tip re cutting blades, they always seem to need replacing…. As for the stamp platform, you are SO right on! I am in the US and bought 2 ( gotta have a back up don’t ya know!!🤣) when they came back in stock. They are fabulous. Far, far superior to the M___i that people rave about, not my experience at all. This one holds up very well, allows you to stamp sheets larger or longer than average, so doing multiple sentiments is a breeze, and there is no fussing with parts for different types of stamps. And it’s quite affordable. And Craftstash shipping to the US is terrific!! Love mine!!🧑🏼🎨😀💗🤗
amazing! thank you for letting me know! I know in the beginning they couldnt ship them there because misti were trying to sue them for 'stealing' their idea
This is a great gift idea. But why stamp every page? I know stamps have a little more texture with the ink being slightly raised, but this seems unnecessarily laborious when you can just do a design on word or other app and print your pad in one go? You can have a variety of text and fonts and even personalise the pads for each teacher if you printed the design from your computer. You also have any number of images to choose from. 😊.

There was even a gal who made her own small pattern paper pads from scraps left over from partially used 12x12 sheets!

I still do that technique to this day! So blessed to have had the opportunity to work in a printer’s shop 30 years ago!
Are the pads laying down on top of each other?

yep it's just like the trimmer, it's a design that different companies purchase, wouldnt be shocked at all if it's the exact same :)
