No. Jeff Emig was amazing. Ralph sucked. Dream crew would be Jeff Emig, and Grant Langston. I would throw Ricky in there. But as of late he’s been a total sellout. Acts much less like a former Mx racer and is now a full blown suit for the AMA.
@Sneakerh0undRicky doesn’t fill the role of Ralph. That’s what Jason Weigandt and Leifh Diffy do. Look up play by play and color commentary. It’s a duo.
I still can’t believe Jeff Alessi passed away. Im heartbroken for the Alessi family. As a fan of Mike I always supported Jeff. I know he created enemies with the laser pointer incident, but he was young and immature, and they definitely paid the price for it. Life is too short to hold grudges tho 🙏 801 🕊️
Alessi was one of my favorite amateur riders of all time. The kid was so unbelievably fast, I believed he peaked too early. Mike has a great attitude and has given back to the sport. I wish him all the best. 👍
I still have his 2007 Millville ktm jersey signed. Got to hang in his trailer with Jeff and him. Both great guys with a WHOLE different idea of what it takes to win. I swear Tony would cut your heart out and tape it to the carburetor if it gave Mike 2hp. He was nuts for winning
I truly don't know, nor will anyone ever figure out how Mike did it.. You can't teach instincts. And he had the best instincts when it came to the gate drop. Legit would holeshot most of his races.
I had massive respect for this for Mike he just did not give up. I think if he had a 100% Factory ride, with better people, better mechanics, better team and that if his dad backed off a bit. He would of won a Champy
He has many great moments! One I recently saw was his hard race against TC222. If you get the chance you should make a highlight real of his great moments since there a couple really good ones!!
Alessi never mastered the whoops in Supercross. That was his major weak point. But outdoors he was way better. 2009 he was the fastest I’ve ever seen him, I believe he could’ve won that championship but he got taken out. 2012 he would’ve won every race if there was a guy named Dungey! They were like a lap ahead of 3rd place every week!
He specialized in holeshots and crashes. It takes serious stones to pull holeshots against the guys he was racing. Unfortunately, holeshots don't pay that well.
He was Mike Alessi til his 2008 crash, after that he just became Alessi, wasn't the same. He'd do amazing for the first 5 laps of every moto then trickle backwards, was always top 5 but just couldn't keep it for a 20 min moto
He was always like that in Supercross. But outdoors he was better. 2009 he was the fastest I’ve ever seen him, giving a great challenge to Reed, I believe he could’ve won that championship but got taken out via injury. Even though he was faster in 2009, in 2012 he won some races and was the only guy to challenge Dungey. They were like a lap ahead of 3rd place every week!
@@JPW328 Even though some accusations about him circled around. I always wished he had a great season. You could see mentally he was all there but physically just couldnt like the others. When he was at their speed he was so out of his comfort zone leading to crazy crashes. He was RIGHT there, so close he could touch the bar, but not enough to hold onto it
@@uprta I think he peaked as a racer way too early. Arguably had the most dominant amateur career (tied for most Loretta Lynn titles) and once he got on the bike bike he was thrown to the wolves. I always hear RC and JS talk about “learning to lose” and how it’s so hard to keep that confidence of knowing you can win but at the same time knowing realistically where you stack up. I think Alessi career could of been 100x better but he still had an amazing motocross career overall had he not had the crazy hype from amateurs.
So much speed. So much starting ability. Never could figure out why they didn’t work out his technique flaws and bike setup flaws. He has one of the worst riding techniques I’ve ever seen from a pro.
I always remembered him as the holeshot guy that blew them. Every time lol. But i akways liked him and his brother. I just saw where he's now riding arena cross, which ok it's a step down, but hes still racing beause thats his passion, and hes now 35, so that's pretty cool in my book 💪 Edit: i just googled the laser incident. Now, I'm done sticking up for him. Ive lost all respect. 800, you don't even belong in arenacross. Go get an electrician job, or maybe more fitting for you, a job in theater. Playing peter pan or something 🤦
That field’s lucky he didn’t have Jett speed with all them holeshots because he would’ve won a lot of championships. Good motocross rider not so good supercross
Congratulations on a great career Mike. You definitely gave it your all and should be very proud of yourself. Hope the very best for you in the future
So good to hear Ralph and Emig in the booth …broadcasting glory days 👍
fukin aye
only good commentary these days when Stewart in the booth
@@FilthyAmericanz Yeah Stews a champ 👍

love him or hate him. The man still has holeshot secrets.
Like laserpointers
@@TrevorAvrett HAHAHA
Mike was the only guy to give Dungey a run for his money outdoors 2012. They were in a league of their own!
Wow, You’re rocking today, Best mx compilations imo👍
No doubt it's like Christmas!
RIP Jeff Alessi 😢🙏
It would be so nice to get some good announcers again in sx like we had back in these days.

Awesome job on the videos glad to see you back 😂 Alessi's heat race interview classic!
That was rough. Just 8 minutes or Alessi getting the start and instantly being passed followed by 3 heat race wins. Absolutely brutal.
How in the world do you go through all of the old film and pick out these clips that all tie together to fit a theme? It must take forever.
It's usually a few days to a week. It's easier these days, I keep a detailed archive.

The tracks looked way better back then. Built up lots of dirt
He was a interesting guy that’s for sure

It’s gotta have something to do with Tony alessi. Friese is the same way and he use to/or is still working with Tony.

Keep the vids coming man good shit

Mike Alessi should've been a flat track racer. He should've realized this after his 3rd or 4th year of Supercross. I really feel bad for that guy.
Woo oops woops!
Mike alessi was a motcross only type of rider. Flat trck or speedway? Maybe

Nobody could ever say it was the bike he was like that on everything. Honda ktm and Suzuki
I wonder how much $ he made just from holeshots
Getting the hole shot doesn’t necessarily matter if you can’t stay in the top 5.
I'll take Mike over Vince any day !!!
Alessi 0 Championships 0 SX Wins 🤣🤣🤣
He was a cocky rider in his early days. Thought he was the shit when he was on KTM and had Karma hit hard after that. Can't stand the guy
Go back to vital forums ya geezer lol
He was a one trick pony. Lost any respect for him with the Washougal laser scandal in 2013
What's with the laser scandal I'll have to research that lol
RIP to Jeff…but….Mike and his dad Tony were always arrogant jerks…
