Sir, I personally met Nick Rowe in the Philippines in 89, while I was on a "Balikatan" with 1st Group. He talked to me like I was his son and when you looked into his eyes they told the tale of what he had endured. Sadly, that was the trip where he was assassinated by the NPA. Can't believe that the Philippine government wouldn't allow him to go armed with anything other than a spray can of Mace.
