Hey guys, in today's video I'll give you an at home workout you can do in your 50s and 60s to build muscle. Comment below and let me know what you think of this workout!
In using dumbell what are the required number of weights needed for the 60 years old and above and What Vitamins/drinks should I take to build my muscle faster.
I’ll be 80 next week, been doing similar things for at least 30 years. Light weights, stretch bands, rollers… nice to be in better shape than most men of 50!
At the age of 63, I find that my motivation for weight lifting has changed over the years. In my 30s, I worked out to look good for the ladies and now I weight lift so my cholesterol and blood pressure looks good for my doctor.
Both of which, especially the latter highly overated. The cholesterol you need they are telling you not to have so on and so forth. Stay away from doctors unless homeopathic guy.
Dont worry the ladies still watch, i have well developed 16" "arms at 62, i laughed I helped a neighbor release lug nuts on her car, she went Oh my, nice to see real men still exist, she had a naughty look in her eye 😂👁️
Got that right my man! At 66 y/o I'm with you. With good BP and bloodwork we can live active healthy lives. I do full body workouts with moderate weights to keep my joints from suffering. Overall fitness is so important at our age and training with weights and bands help us stay strong and healthy.
Thanks. I'm 68 been lifting off and on since mid 60s- -serious again last 7 years. I can do most anything as before, just very careful on heavy lifts and satisfied with whatever feels "heavy", not comparing weights of the past .
Yep 67 coming back after 5years. Doing the same not as strong but all the old injuries come back😱. Work round them though. It’s all coming back though 👍
Hi from the UK. Due to the pandemic I found myself unemployed aged 62. I now work in a physical job for the first time in 40 years and have lost 30lbs in 6 months. I have been following these videos and I am now the fittest I have been since I was a club swimmer in my 20's. Great info thanks a lot from an old man that doesn't feel so old any more.
Good for you being hired for a physical job. I was 45 applying for a mechanic job after graduating auto repair class and the guy told me to my face that the job was too physical for me.
Ted Baxter I am now working for the Royal Mail Company which requires me to be on my feet 8 hrs a day moving mail sacks. I love the physical aspect of the work and your advice regarding training at home has ensured I am up to the job! I look better, feel a lot better and dare I say it can out perform a lot of the young guns at work! After 12 years in a desk bound job I have found a new me! Thanks guys, keep it up.
@@inhibited44 That's the practice in the US too, but not legal. Until covid I was kinda jacked and could've dropped and done 70 pushups as a challenge to the interviewer. Not now, need to reboot.
@@UncleEarl97 thanks, the videos and the Job help each other. There is a gym at work with instructors that I am now taking advantage of as well. Great tuition please keep it up.
John, this video is great! Your way of explaining and demonstrating each movement is very much appreciated. I am 56 with lots of damage and health issues too. I have lost 110+ lbs with keto/IF and am now starting to to add resistance training into my life to continue improving my situation. I really like your channel and how you teach.

I'm 68 , I have been lifting for a few months, I wish I had seen this video first, it would have gotten me straight to the right lifts rather then trying to remember what I did in high school. I have had shoulder injuries so I lift light weights . Thank you for the video and the calming voice .
When I started I used cable machines only and lots of cardio and stretching. What I liked later was Serge Nubret's moderate weight and high volume. I'm retiring a few years early and can't wait to get into the gyms when they re-open again.
Great simple video I am 62 and have lifted snd exercised since I was 20 . Just recovering from throat cancer, even though I have never smoked. Exercise and weight lifting to me is like cutting grass it gives me time to relax my mind . A doctor told me years ago for the elderly , muscle is currency of life . Thanks for sharing
I only have dumbbells at home. As such, I want to thank you for this much needed video. I am a disabled veteran with an old leg injury, but still lift through this, as exercise seems to help relieve the pain. Thank you so much for these exercise.
Thanks@@jst601 , doing 3 ab workouts a week, 3 dumbbell workouts a week and walking 2 miles every day. Not quite jacked, but feeling pretty good at 69 to be able to do 50 pushups at a time now. ;-)
I am 69 and have been a regular at the gym for 1.5 yrs. The secret to success is going as often as you can. I am there 5 days a week. You will be pleased with the results as you stick with it. Build it into your daily schedule. I am also happier.
Yep... glad I found this video! I'm 57 and started resistance training to supplement running (5K, 10k, HM). I was surprised to see my muscles grow again because you read that everything slows down as you get older. Thank you SO MUCH for explaining what "engage the core" means. I get tired of hearing that and nobody ever explains it. I did exactly what you described and actually felt my abs and lower back tighten up--felt great, like I was actually doing some work. THANKS!!
I havent done "gym style" exercises for quite a while. I do 20 pullups, switching between overhand and underhand alternate days. Most of the rest of the day (during warm months) is cutting, packing, splitting, and stacking firewood for our Alaskan winters. I am 68 and weigh 224, my sixpack is padded for warmth!
67 in August and I have been working out off and mostly, on, since I was sent to the gym for asthma when I was 15 and becoming more consistent as I get older (min 5 times a week usually). Definitely getting form correct to avoid injury is key as shown here. Also, I believe, is variety. So, I rotate weight training between free- weights, cables/bands, and machines plus walk/ jog, yoga, swim ( on holidays only, I build up to a kilometre as quickly as I can) , kayak etc. Really appreciated the reminders of correct form here.
Starting with isolation exercises is weird but all good exercises. Being 62 myself I enjoy seeing our generation motivating each other. Age is not a barrier.
thank you Mr.Shumate, for the best and good dumbbell exercise you have given.....I'm 73 yrs.old still doing my weight exercise....again thank you very much I'll do that.....
Great video. I've been doing those same exercises for years. The only other exercise I would add is shrugs to build the traps. Now that I'm almost 57 and 2 years post heart transplant, I'm rebuilding my physique all over again. Definitely using lighter weight, higher reps, and slower movements. Stay strong, Brothers. 💪🏼
Great vid been exercising since 1960 I'm 70 yo did heavy construction labor still do I exercise with these exercises for 30 min also use loop bands and finish off with 1o sets of 50 jump ropes all outside in the fresh air thanks again ps sti.l got my old York and Dan Laurie plates that were my pops
Since taking voluntary severance from a long term job a couple of years ago, I’ve progressively become unfit and unhealthy. I watched this video and decided I need to do something to improve my overall fitness and health. At the age of 61 I joined the gym last week and came across this excellent video. I will follow this plan and see how things go. Many thanks for the inspiring video.👍
At 65, I realized that it's not to late for me to get back in shape and look they way I used to look 15 years ago. Thanks, this video is the beginning.
I am 70 and it feels very good to do the exercises you do. I can do them all and thank you for the calm way in which you explain and demonstrate it. I have saved the video and am going to train with it. Especially because I can do what you taught me at home. I'm very happy with it. I am from the Netherlands
Just found this video Love it . I'm 60 and been trying to get in shape .been on a diet for the last 6 months and managed to loose two and half stone .for the last 2 weeks been doing a dumbbell workout . from today I'm switching to your techniques . Many thanks ..
I've stopped lifting weights and just moved to push ups pull ups and body weight squats.ive got waaaaaay more energy and less pain and pulling things all the time
Excellent job. I'm an older guy that's been lifting weights since I was a teenager. I started working out with weights again last year after taking a couple years off. I still did calisthenics so I stayed in decent shape. When I went back to weight training, I made quick gains and was doing fairly well for the fist three months. As I increased progressive overload and volume, I hit a wall and my joints started to break down. For the next three months, I was in pain during workouts and it was counter productive. Since then, I have gone to working out just three days a week using a push, pull, legs split with low volume. This is working much better for me. I can still cycle up to heavier weights on certain exercises occasionally but now I purposely keep my volume low. That's very low and it's sometimes hard to stop if I'm getting a good pump. But for me, 3 sets of 4 or 5 exercises seems to work best and it keeps my joints healthy. When you are older, like most of us on here, it's all about keeping the joints from breaking down.
I have tendonitis in both my elbows from working when I was younger, I'm 68 now . Anyway my problem is when my elbow joints are flaring up ,like from bicep curls, the problem isn't so much the weight, as it is from squeezing the bar. Be safe out there guys, if you feel pain in a joint, don't push to finish the rep, it isn't worth it . I know they say no pain ,no gain ... but that doesn't apply to the joints .
@@thomaswhite3831 I have had three elbow operations. Two tennis and one golfer. Like you the culprit was gripping too tight and using my forearms to pull weights not the correct muscle. Now 63 and wish I knew then what I know now. Good luck.
This is Gold buddy. I started hitting the weights again after 60. I haven't been doing it wrong but now I do it smarter and safer. If I incorporate what you are doing with what I am doing, Warmup, posture and methodically protecting your ability to do these exercises as often as I want without injury is so important. Thanks so much. This is great for everyone especially the inexperienced. Start at it easy, go long and get strong. I carry my self with confidence. At my age people notice.
Love your calm relaxed style im also 61 have been a gym rat most of my life but as i get older its a constant changing and tweaking My workout to accommodate my age you are an inspiration to a lot of older guys that keep going...thank you for your time and expertise....peace
62 this year. Still doing two hours of heavy resistance training four times a week. Mornings start with 70 press ups, 6 minute plank, and stationary bike 14kms in 20 minutes. Alternative days I run 10 kms. Atm my stats are 52" 34" 36" Did my Para Bft's last year and passed. Will been doing them again in July this year and I know I'll pass. What I'm getting at here guys is 'mind over matter'. If you want it, go for it. Don't listen to the doubters. You get one go at this, there's no replays. Believe in yourself and you can accomplish anything. Take care :)
Thanks so much. I’m turning 64 in May slowly but surely following ur program. I like the slow explanation to do exercise properly. I’m new to your channel and glad I found you. Thanks
Thank you for the video and excellent explanations. I am almost 60 and always wanted to grow muscles. For about 40 years I've trained in Martial Arts, got high rank in boxing and Black Belt in 4 karate styles, but never succeeded to build a muscle mass. The approach you have shown should work. Stay Strong, Stay Healthy, Live Long! Thanks again!
Thank you my brother I love this video I'm 60 and work out 3 days a week and in shape now I'm going to be in better shape because of you u are the Man keep doing what u doing.thanks again. 👍🏾
Who is this guy, you should have him do more exercise videos, he is really likable. He does a great job explaining the weight exercises and how to properly do them. I hope to see more weight workouts with this guy. Thanks.
Great video thank you , I am 58 and I am in to weight lifting and doing ok , really appreciate this video designed to help people my age ,I used to have all sorts of aches and pains until I began working with weights again.
I'm 63 stared working out 6 mos ago. Your workout really help me to correct the way I do my workouts. Thank you for your video. Maybe make one for stretch and will relate to this workout video. I may not be stretching the right way. Thank you again.
Very true indeed I have a more muscled body than ones younger. Age it is indeed a number if you wish to stay healthy there is no age at all, on the contrary the sooner the better
Im,68 years old female i use a rollator and lef frozen shoulder,i do inertia wave, elyptical deep bars etc etc.i have a covid gym in my backyard, next im getting a bike, love intense cardio.
Great video. I notice your refer to the dumbbell as a barbell?? It blows me away that I'm now 67, but it's true. Time "do" fly bye! ✈ I had been training probably 85% free weights (mostly heavy dumbbells), 15% machines since I was 22. Recently, I took like 3 yrs. off, mostly due to a really bad shoulder and back. I'm a foodie, so eating like a bodybuilder has always been tuff for me. During this time off, I managed to lose some hard-earned muscle, of course, but the really upsetting issue has been the belly! It just got so much bigger and man o man has it been hard as heck to get rid of 😥 Trying to eat much better, more protein, doing a full body workout every other day (less sets, less weight), some cardio (HATE IT!) and abs on non-weights days. So many important exercises, I can't do now because of injuries I'll have forever. I'm fine with my weight @6ft. 228lbs. I want to lose body fat % lose the belly and gain muscle. That's my story Jerry. 🤠
Im 66 years old and people tell me I look 40. My last annual lab results were the best in my life. Im 5"10 , 196 muscular. I lift weights 3 times a week. Ive been an athlete since grade school. Im determined the grim reaper is going to have to chase me down.
Excellent attitude, study Wim Hoff, secrets to adding years of health after 60, i use wieghts 4 x week, HIT cardio 3 x a week, end every day with Wim, Iceman training, big gains in past 120 days, I added that
Hey light bulbs straight up LAZY if you don't train abs and lower body. At 68, i have trained for decades and maintain 5 to 7 % body fat, depending on the season. Thankful for good genetics, and metabolism and you are right- diet and nutrition are key.. i cut out sugar and all bread products last year and the cravings diminish over time. Thanks for the encouraging videos. Don't forget the cardio. All total I don't spend more than and hour and a half training/cardio 5 a week. Don't need the BS in and out, done and on with a great life in JESUS.
I'm 66 and receive HRT from a sports medicine physician - important. Spinal stenosis changed everything a year ago. I've modified my routines to accommodate spinal stenosis. This video is good. Form for isolation is everything. Do it and forearm exercises every other day.
Good advice from this fellar!!! I'm 66 years old, workout with 30 & 40 dumbells. Also ,just for bench-press workouts, no Max's, I have 110 on a standard bar. Got to work the triceps & biceps some. Not to look good. No, no!!!!! To receive strength from them only. I want to practice with a little more weight. Good advice he spoke. Come on elderships, use your focus!!!!
Great video bro I’m 61 and have been working out for 18months now feeling great and going through a Muscular change it’s great to be working out your video keeps me Motivated !!👍
63. I lifted on and off for a lot of years. Always sucks coming back from too long off. This time I started back after a few years off. I only do compound movements now for chest once a week. On another day I'll do shoulders and arms. Walk during the week. Feel a lot better after a few months. benching 225 for 8. overhead press at 130 for 8. Hopefully I stick with it now.
This is one of the best videos on giving advice. I am approaching 50, and fed up with seeing my muscles disappear. However, repetitive shoulder dislocations years ago followed by surgery deterred me from lifting weights. So I am now going to add some muscles to my shoulders for the first time since my 20's. Thank you for the warning when it comes to the triceps lift bringing your arm down behind your back. This is a weak position when it comes to shoulder stability, so being careful here is crucial. I am just going to use the bars on their own until I start to get more confident with them. Thanks for this video. Will add it to my favs.
Very good video, I always worked 3 sets of 8-12 worked great till I hit 73 now I find 3 sets of 10 t0 16 works a lot better, after being away from weights for over a year because of injuries.
I love so many things about your video. I love your calm demeanor. I love that you don't feel you have to pepper everything you say with profanity. And most importantly, what you're doing is obviously working for you. I do, however, have one huge caution for you, and that is the continual repetition of "12 reps, 3 sets". Not that those numbers are a bad thing. They are fine. But depending upon what weights your viewers may have handy, they can get just as effective workout, with every bit the same results, by doing, say, 10, 8, or even 6 reps with heavier weight. The real key is to come near to hitting a max rep at the end of each set, if you are going for sheer muscular growth, and I feel that you need to accentuate that more rather than make viewers feel like as long as they reach that magical number of 12 they can simply stop. The fact is, if you can do 15 reps rather than 12--do 15. Otherwise, job well down. Splendid tutorial video I will recommend to any client of any age, not just the older folks.
Mike from Elk Grove California age 64. It's great to see good information for a better health in our later years. I'm a former bodybuilder, today I'm physically challenged with full spinal hardware from Cervical, Thoracic T4-T12 and Lumbar, along with heart condition and Acute Poly Phoriattic Arthritis. The last 2 year's I went through my 4th and 5th major spinal surgeries. However, I elected to return to my bodybuilding training 3 months prior to the surgeries and if I wanted to survive a 7 hour procedure. I made the right choice. On March 3, 2022 I Decline Bench Press 335 lbs, it's posted on UA-cam as "335 lb Decline Bench Press Age 63 Wt 189" Full Spinal Hardware. But that's not all this past May I completed my I.S.S.A CPT training and now certified. I want to be a inspiration to all with medical conditions and regardless of age. I'm stronger today than when I was a bodybuilder at 32. I have both generations that come up to me and can't believe my strength level and physique at my age, guess my uncles Mr Florida DNA was passed on to me which I'm so grateful for. Lol
Im a 65 yr old, i thouht i looked good til i saw this vid. Very motivating for me, time to start working harder. Life is too beautiful. Thanx my friend.
Lots of sensible advice from this gentleman One size does not fit all. Im 67 and have slowly modified work outs as ive aged. Compound is my preferred style and extension over contraction. Its worked for me. Tailor made routines imho work best.
I’m not sure why this was recommended to me... 🤔But, your recommendations can apply to all age groups. Congrats for being so fit at your age! No excuses. Period. 🔥Many of male friends in their 20’s & 30’s can only dream of having your body 😳🤔
His info is ok,safe, but a bit boring.im 63,been using weights for 50 years,no drugs, still making improvements. I still try to test my self in some way every workout.i do 1 set to failure for each exercise
Great video !!! I just retired at64 and went back to the gym just to stay fit.You are proof with a little bit of excersise you still can look good after 60.I watch all you guys on this channel and you motivate my drive. Thanks John,I am trying to take one video at a time.I usually hit the gym 4 times a week,2 hours at a time,is this a good start ???
Thanks for this video - I had been doing 25-30-40 sets for a long time - I just did my first 3 sets following your example - wow , what a difference - huge difference .
Great video. Practical exercises done safely. I’m 79 and weight train regularly, have since I was 14. I’ve had several injuries through the years & take them into consideration as I train. One item I’ve found to help with chest work is the elastic band called a sling shot. It protects me with chest flyes since I’ve had an old shoulder dislocation that I still aware of & must protect. Also, in the same vein, I’d be cautious doing flyes with arms too extended. Too much elbow extension puts great stress on your shoulders. Injuries happen in a split second & the weight exacerbates it. Yes, you can build muscle in your 70’s!
Never went to the gym when I was younger but after retirement I concluded that I needed to do regular combo of cardo and strength training to slow the decline of muscular/skeleton progression. Thanks for showing some fine points in your dumbbell routine. I will definitely copy your style which is a refinement of what I started to do using 20, 25 & 30 lbs. I am 77 and belly is flat but will follow your posture technique. Hope you do a lower body demo. I also took up running 5k and rowing which are the killers but I love them, no joint problems so far.
What's sad is many people just assume there's an "age limit" to when we can play sports and exercise. Many giving up on their bodies long before they should. There is no age lilmit to when we start or stop. So many people out there in the 2nd half of thier lives and stronger/fitter than they were in their 20's. For whatever Never give up.....at any age.
66 and do my workout more seriously for the last 5 years, before it was more cardio but now weights, squats bench dumbbell and it really made me feel better and look better. Limit most weights to 200lbs and do 5 sessions of 90 min a week. Waist down from 36 to 32 but weight about the same. Like your way of instructing and focus on each exercise.. Thanks
Hi guys; thanks for the excellent video and exercises tips. I am 65 with lumbar hernia, but I want to fit my muscles, which are to loose. I wonder if it is possible to do weights in my condition. really would appreciate your comments.
Im almost 66 and have worked out with weights since i was 20 ..flies are one of my favourite for chest and I am doing sets of 5 with 85 lbs on my heavy days . I wouldn't recommend keeping your elbows straight and at 90 deg. with my upper arms parallel the chest muscles are fully extended ..straightening your elbows puts undo stress on the shoulder joint and would tear a rotator cuff if i even attempted 30 lbs that way .
I found out that diet play a major role in your physic. I'm 64 years old and train Mon.- Thurs. Cardio 7 days and having ripped abs are extremely appealing at this age. 💪mrwtby

I am 69 and have been a regular at the gym for 1.5 yrs. The secret to success is going as often as you can. I am there 5 days a week. You will be pleased with the results as you stick with it. Build it into your daily schedule. I am also happier.
Can you suggest me how to warm up before doing this type of exercise? Can you send me a link to a warm up?
Yep... glad I found this video!
Tell Eddie, Hello!
AT 224 YOU'RE WAY OVER WEGHT UNLESS YOU'RE 6 FT 4 INCHES
Awesome, keep it up!
John, you're the best. I've watched a lot of weight lifting videos, but the difference with you is that you are a TEACHER. Thank you.
Rebuilding! Well done brother. With a mind set like yours you can accomplish anything.
I was honestly surprised there were no shrugs.
68 here and appreciate your info. Being an example of taking good care of ourselves even into later years is super rewarding and fulfilling.
awesome finally found a station for over 60, I am 63 thank you so much... looking forward to it....
Thank you for being such a kind chap.Leon,South Africa.
Great instructions for home exercise with dumbells I'm 56 from Papua New Guinea. Very interested and will give it a shot. Thanks
Just found this video Love it . I'm 60 and been trying to get in shape .been on a diet for the last 6 months and managed to loose two and half stone .for the last 2 weeks been doing a dumbbell workout . from today I'm switching to your techniques . Many thanks ..
62 & still going strong .. 💪🏻 your my go to for workouts
Good advice, the guys i see joints breaking down, are the ones not exercising at our age, good luck, stay hard
Good luck.
RESPECT... im 56 and have been training for many years 💪🏼😎👍 keep up the great work
@John Shumate 💪🏼😎👍
Thanks for being here!
The guy explains techniques so well. Much appreciated
The core squeeze you described is very important for stabilizing your core and taking pressure off the spine when doing heavy lifting.
Love your calm relaxed style im also 61 have been a gym rat most of my life but as i get older its a constant changing and tweaking
My workout to accommodate my age you are an inspiration to a lot of older guys that keep going...thank you for your time and expertise....peace
Nice exercise, its a great help for me, im already 69 years old and im using 20kg dumbells. Thanks and God bless👍🏻
Pogledah opis na tvojoj UA-cam strani. Brate, ima l' nesto da ti nisi??? ( 😄 ) Wish You all the best!
I love the way that with the concentration curl, you can't see the weight much of the time. Good camera work!
One of the best easy to follow videos I've seen on UA-cam and I'm on UA-cam all the time!!! Brilliant and many thanks!!! 😀👍
Who is this guy, you should have him do more exercise videos, he is really likable. He does a great job explaining the weight exercises and how to properly do them. I hope to see more weight workouts with this guy. Thanks.
63 and taking this advice and getting much results thank you
Great video thank you , I am 58 and I am in to weight lifting and doing ok , really appreciate this video designed to help people my age ,I used to have all sorts of aches and pains until I began working with weights again.
Great video. I am 62 and go to gym but needed just this kind of exercises to build muscles 💪.
Very Sound Advice!!!.........Youth is not wasted on the Young!👍
I'm 67 now and still workout in the gym for 17 years thanks a lot
Keep your awsome job
Im,68 years old female i use a rollator and lef frozen shoulder,i do inertia wave, elyptical deep bars etc etc.i have a covid gym in my backyard, next im getting a bike, love intense cardio.
Great video. I notice your refer to the dumbbell as a barbell?? It blows me away that I'm now 67, but it's true. Time "do" fly bye! ✈
I had been training probably 85% free weights (mostly heavy dumbbells), 15% machines since I was 22. 🤠
Nice & simple exercises for seniors like me! Thanks for sharing ❤
Superb. Well explained everything without any dramatic. 👍👍👍
One of the best videos on working with weights, because he calls out what weight he's using. Excellent.
Im 66 years old and people tell me I look 40. My last annual lab results were the best in my life. Im 5"10 , 196 muscular. I lift weights 3 times a week. Ive been an athlete since grade school. Im determined the grim reaper is going to have to chase me down.
Excellent attitude, study Wim Hoff, secrets to adding years of health after 60, i use wieghts 4 x week, HIT cardio 3 x a week, end every day with Wim, Iceman training, big gains in past 120 days, I added that
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Don't fear the reaper.
I'm 72 and like your method . Been doing these three times a week since March
Nice Gary!
Really great info.... I'm 64 and I work out and mix it up every day.. the form focus info is what I need. Really great stuff.. I thank you!
Don't need the BS in and out, done and on with a great life in JESUS.
you are so right lam 60 and steel in to boxing grapping mma to and this is one of the best work you can do l put your video in my work out cio
I'm 66 and receive HRT from a sports medicine physician - important. Spinal stenosis changed everything a year ago. I've modified my routines to accommodate spinal stenosis. This video is good. Form for isolation is everything. Do it and forearm exercises every other day.
You’re an excellent trainer and you look great! Thanks
excellent I'm 65 195 7% bf retired fire captain best training video for us young old guys lol
Your instruction and tempo are perfect
Good advice from this fellar!!! I'm 66 years old, workout with 30 & 40 dumbells. Also ,just for bench-press workouts, no Max's, I have 110 on a standard bar. Got to work the triceps & biceps some. Not to look good. No, no!!!!! To receive strength from them only. I want to practice with a little more weight. Good advice he spoke. Come on elderships, use your focus!!!!
Excellent instruction and knowledge of how to condition each specific muscle. Look forward to seeing a lot more videos.
Finally a video that's simple not so technical like some videos these young guys do ? You get board watching it?
I loll this video, you get my motivated. I just turned 69 and I am working out strong again. Thanks for the workout tips. God Bless!
I would focus more on the lower body exercises for balance as we are getting older, balance is very important to prevent falls
Thanks, John... 62 here, 90 lbs to go...I am looking for "simple"...I will look for more of your YT...thanks again...:)
For one arm kickback, as you go down, don’t bring the dB forward but stop short of 90 degrees
Lots of sensible advice from this gentleman
One size does not fit all.
Im 67 and have slowly modified work outs as ive aged.
Compound is my preferred style and extension over contraction.
Its worked for me.
Tailor made routines imho work
best.
Excellent , only way to do it is with precise instructions and concentration at details. Thank you a lot!
I am 65, thank you for your advices, undertsandable and very nice description
Great stuff………….too few of us AARP'ers (I'm 70) make resistance training an important part of our fitness program. It really will turn the clock back.
What's sad is many people just assume there's an "age limit" to when we can play sports and exercise. Many giving up on their bodies long before they should. There is no age lilmit to when we start or stop.
So many people out there in the 2nd half of thier lives and stronger/fitter than they were in their 20's. For whatever
Never give up.....at any age.
I’m 69 and still going strong, great video we can’t let the old man in,enough said 💪💪💪
How long do you recommend resting between sets?
I found out that diet play a major role in your physic. I'm 64 years old and train Mon.- Thurs. Cardio 7 days and having ripped abs are extremely appealing at this age. 💪mrwtby
hello sir, thanks for your good inspiring video, im 57 yrs old, 1 yr on keto diet and under weight. im searching for video exercise that i can follow to build muscle and gain weight, i found your video and will soon begin working out, thanks , hope i will build muscle in time
