Really love Wintersun. I was listening to this album just a couple of days ago. So emotional and powerful.. Jari is one more Finnish genius.. This particular song is heartbreaking, brings me to tears.. Imagine, Jari lost half of his lung capacity to tuberculosis.. And he sings like THAT..
This is from Wintersun's "Forest Seasons" album, which is produced, written and arranged by Jari Mäenpää. Jari also plays all the instruments including guitars, drums, bass, synthesizers. And of course he also sings the lead vocals - not bad from a guy with only one functioning lung. Jari wrote this song after his father died to honor him.
Truly a great album as each song is awesome. Didn't realize it was a solo effort, you think he has some talent? Man I can't play the harmonica let alone do all that (LOL). Some people get all the gifts, however I love those like Jari that work on them and use them as they should. Any word on the new Nightwish effort, figured you might of picked up some local news leaks about the progress, hope all is well and your cat is still going strong!!
@@jmetallover As far as I know, Nightwish is on schedule with the new album. They have also released some tour dates for South America on May 2020 on their official site. P.S. My cat is doing just fine, thanks for asking. P.S.S. What are your thoughts of the new TOOL album?
@@tarmotyyri6733 Yeah saw the tour schedule. I am hoping for some N. American dates in April but we will see. I know the band will do the Summer in Europe especially with all the open air festivals to promote the album (hope for another LIVE disc as I love them LIVE). Tool is up this week so I'll drop you a further update, finished Sabaton's Great War album (subject I love) so now onto the next victim. Stay well and say hello to the cat for me!!
For Wintersun song with no growls you have little choice but "Death and the Healing". It's clean vocals only and it's a really fantastic song you should definitely check it out. You can find the remastered lyric video from the official channel, WintersunJari
I'm not a big Wintersun fan, but this song actually touched my heart. The lyrical content, the sorrow in the vocals and the despair in the music really does feel lonely. This was really a good song. Lol... Even the growling was okay. Cool reaction.🤘
I must say I agree about the coffee..don't be such a savage slurping your drink while you should be listening attentively, besides you should be drinking with a proper cup and saucer, remember pinky out (LMAO). I can't believe what some people have issues with and why you even care enough to mention those idiots instead of bringing in a keg size mug to gulp down your drink(LOL) Well you know I am not a growler fan but Wintersun is just so good with everything they do I barely notice any more. Remember he had TB so he is working with about 75% of his lung capacity!!! Anyway the clean vocals and the musicianship is too much to let a little growling ruin it for me. This was great a real emotional and brooding sound and his vocals were perfect for this down mood. Nice reaction as always and if I could make a quick suggestion.. get a mug inscribed with "I DON"T CARE" on it for the coffee fans!!!!
I've never liked the low growling vocals (Amon Amarth is about the only band where I can stand it), but the higher demonic sounding growling I can handle. And I actually even like it in Wintersun.
It's not a revelation but if you want a very good song which I think is up your alley, look up: Kingdom Come - Twilight Cruiser. Unfortunately there are no live versions where the audio quality is really good, only acceptable at best. I think you have good taste and thanks for keeping this all fresh by trying also less popular bands in search for good music.
Wow man, u were fast but glad u liked it. I know u don't like the growling stuff that much hence i picked this one. But u are missing out on some kick-ass guitar solos by them😁😁
Ah this song is beautiful, if I remember it right, about Kai's passing father. I feel like it was ages ago I commented, so I will shamelessly suggest a band. It could be a hit or miss: Imperia - Fear Is an Illusion In my opinion, the most versatile singer in metal, though this is meant to be a catchy song, it has nice guitars and rhythms. The singer is more close to your age, she is special though and is known for her witch voice, she is also a soprano, and can growl, like Floor. Don't expect a ton of views though :) ua-cam.com/video/ysf3RtNZU_c/v-deo.html
@@Kimobubby Hehe yeah. She has been around since 1998, she was on the first two Trail of Tears albums (Gothic, mixed with male growls), and was later supposed to be the singer of Epica, but she and Mark had different ideas, and so she started Imperia instead. But yeah, the song I suggested is more "casual", whereas a song like "Suicide" is more full-on crazy, which she has a reputation of being too :p
Too bad about the TV show reaction... Hope you enjoyed our girls' performance, anyway. That's the most important! I'm with you on the growling thing. Not a fan. Not by a long shot. But I have come to enjoy Wintersun, so much so that "Time" has made it to my motorcycle riding playlist.
This is a bit embarrasing since I own the album. Their album Wintersun. It's gotten so far away from me that I don't even remember much of it regarding crowling. I think I should listen to it again. I'm sure after first notes, I'm like "aww yeah, this track" with all of them. But darn was it a masterpiece, the whole album. Much different and mellow sound than those Sonic Pump videos etc. I was also a running joke and maybe even still, don't know, that when we will get another album. The selftittled was from 2004, and Time I was from 2012 I think. It was a loooong wait after bought the first album and wanted more...
This is an emotional song, one of my favorites along with "Time".
These Finnish Bands really know how to rock!!!! Pure gold!!!
This is the most beautiful song there is. Jari poured his soul on this one, his father just died recently before this recording.
Oh wow. I may have cried had I known that

The contrast between this song and the one before it, Eternal Darkness, is insane.

I didn't like harsh vocals either, until Wintersun.
