It's nice seeing something that was on in the background when I was around six, but haven't seen it since. I guess it reminds me of my childhood with my family and stuff.
29 - Eddie the Eagle was the first British competitor since 1928 in the Winter Olympics Ski Jump. He finished in last place in both events by a not-inconsiderable margin, but was very popular with the crowd and TV audience. There was a movie made about him a few years ago.
Gotta love it when Burger King offers Whopper deals like this one back then. Nowadays you can sometimes find buy one, get one free Whopper coupons in the mail, & it's either by themselves or a meal for two. Also, I won't lie but that Isotoner Pantyhose commercial was pretty sexy. Those high kicks & split jumps though
Jordache-so which one is going to step up Alka Seltzer-what did they put in that pork chop suey Win And Spin-imagine what would happen if he lost Visine-wonder if he knew about his relative in the Korean War KTVU Anniversary Special-that roller derby clip Swanson Fried Chicken dinner-no,the potatoes taste like instant ones
All the things I could mention, and the one thing that stood out to me... Giants vs A's? Were they in the same league then? I'll look it up. Edit: sorry 1989 WS, my bad 😁
A's = American League, Giants = National League. The game advertised here was a spring training game played in Scottsdale, AZ. The regular season didn't start until April.
I find it interesting that Disneyland used to have a 50's throwback celebration, and now they have an 80's throwback celebration
Totally sold me on that Burger King commercial...*mouth waters*

I never would have guessed that the guy at 10:19 was attempting to portray somebody British. It seemed more like a bad Jack Benny impression.

I like the whistled tune in the Old Spice commercial. It’s pretty catchy.
Whopper is now 7 dollars alone 🤣
That guy in the E.T. costume at 6:34 needs to team up with that "strangling" Garfield from 80s Volume 755 to create the ultimate nightmare fuel.

5:29 - Something tells me this woman did not last long at this job, especially when she started kicking up sheets of paper at 5:36.
Wow, Mickey totally just did a double take!
I miss Safeway, the one in my town is now an Asda (UK Walmart).
Still plenty of Safeways out here. I miss the non-Walmart grocery stores where you could rent movies (VHS) and get a haircut.
That is a rather bad E.T. costume much like Garfield's dark days of choking from a few videos ago!
Jack in the box...they had the best burgers

@@80sCommercialVault oh, spring training... that makes sense. You're right, spring training interleague games have always been around.
@@retluoc 89 was also the year the San Francisco earthquake hit. I remember watching it clear as day. Game 3 A's and Giants...."Battle of the Bay".
Burger King had Pepsi!?
Only for around 7 years back in the 80's. They eventually switched back to coke in 1990: www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1990-05-02-fi-234-story.html
80sCommercialVault Well, I was born in 1986.
