Good list my friend! I had to get that Re-Animator too! I really appreciate what a small business with passion is trying to do with that film... I am beside myself with anticipation for Lethal Weapon! I was just give the Criterion bluray of Scanners about 3 weeks ago as a gift, so naturally, Second Sight releases that great set...The artwork on that one is worth the double dip alone! Though I expect we will also eventually see both Cronenberg 4ks come to Criterion at some point too
Yeah I agree, we probably will see Criterion releases of the Cronenberg movies... although I'll take a Second Sight chunky box over a Criterion release any day of the week LOL. Criterion doesn't really impress me very much. They have some good transfers when they release a film I care about, but I've never been all that blown away by their packaging (although I do like that they sometimes include an entire additional movie as a bonus feature, like with Shaft). I can't wait for Re-Animator man! That box looks sick. And since I've never owned it, even the archival special features will be new to me (including the feature-length making of doc). Looks like they actually have some cool new interviews/features too. And I'm totally with you on the small biz thing... I very much appreciate the passion and dedication they put into these releases, and I too like to support them whenever I can. In fact, I meant to emphasize that passion and dedication they have more in my video, but in the thick of recording/winging it, it just kind of slipped my mind lol. But you're absolutely right... that kind of passion is part of what makes collecting so cool, and these releases so special. So which Re-Animator did you get? The Deluxe, or the Ultimate edition? Anyway, thanks for watching brother! It's great to hear from you on this topic!
Good list, looking forward to Planet Of The Apes, Tron Legacy, Ben Hur, Kingdom Of Heaven, Amadeus, Uncle Buck, Friday, True Grit, Dances With Wolves, Lethal Weapon, TMNT 1990, and Mortal Kombat 95
Oh those are great choices too! I forgot about Planet of the Apes, but that's definitely on my list too. Same with Tron Legacy. Can't wait to see those on 4K. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey fuzz, yep you pretty much are with me on the most excited 4ks this year haha. I’m like you I’ll be double dipping into lifeforce cuz it’s worth the extended directors cut. I just got scammers not too long ago as well so in the words of starship troopers(another Michael ironside classic) we’re just doing our part lol. I think k this year is gonna be awesome. I hope they do the directors cut of con air and hopefully we’ll get an Armageddon 4k. You mentioned plenty more that I’m excited about. I just got my Snowpiercer 4k steelbook, I can’t wait to watch it, haven’t watched it forever haha. Thankyou for sharing as always my friend
Hey Jorden! Yes, so many great titles coming out so far this year... and I'm sure there will be more later on. Sony seems to be tending to the most important Disney-owned titles, so it's great to see some movement on some of these (like Con Air and Armageddon). I wouldn't be surprised if we get Armageddon on 4K by summer. Anyway, yes, I've already got like 5 chunky boxes pre-ordered. You know how I love the chunk! LMAO!🤣😉 I may have to pick up Snowpiercer too. It's been a long time, and I'm not necessarily the biggest Chris Evans fan. But I do seem to remember enjoying that film. Isn't Ed Harris in it too? Thanks for watching and chiming in my friend. Always appreciated!
@ indeed Ed Harris is in it, very good performance from him. It’s a very original story and John Hurt also gives a great performance. My Amazon is constantly stacked with pre-orders but I do love getting the boutique limited editions from arrow, vinegar and all them other great companies.
Thief is a great film. The Criterion and Arrow Blu-Ray disc were both 4K transfers from the original 35mm so I won’t personally I upgrade. History has told me that the difference is usually minimal in this case. It’s the same with the excellent Night Moves - the Warner Archive Collection Blu-Ray looks excellent. I’m looking forward to the 4K release of Jackie Brown but unfortunately here in the U.K. it’s releasing only on a pricey Steelbook, typical Lionsgate. Personally, only Criterion and Arrow 4K releases excite me these days, along with other boutique studios in the standard Blu-Ray space.
I've started to see a pattern with several YT (red subscription required?) 'free movies' (currently without available 4k media and/or special editions) that are being announced or released every 6ish months (from date released on YT) for disc purchase. An interesting industry algorithm (maybe its known or obvious and I'm just now on to it) Some that I watched last year; Dantes, the Cell, Uncle Buck, thief, the keep, deep blue sea, simple plan, congo. Like the suits get together to plant seeds, get forgotten gems back in rotation before offering 4k purchase. I'm scrolling currently, curating a list to test my theory come May/June.
YES! I can't wait for Jackie Brown and Kill Bill! Tarantino movies are hit or miss for me, but those are both hits for me, although I don't know if I can afford all three. I want the re-animator 4k, as I was looking at buying the Arrow release blu ray anyway, but I don't think I can afford the $50 plus shipping, especially since I've never seen the movie yet, and I may not like it as much as other people do. I'm glad Lethal weapon is coming to 4k! I got the blu ray, but was pissed they didn't even have subtitles! and I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for Con Air and Dirty Harry later in the year!
Yes indeed - we've got so much great stuff coming out. It's a lot to keep up with LOL! I hear ya on Tarantino... I definitely prefer some films of his over others. I've always been more into the earlier work, up through about Death Proof. The later career Tarantino films aren't as interesting to me personally (like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Inglorious... I mean, they're not bad, but they just aren't anywhere near the caliber of his earlier work in my humble opinion). I've always wanted him to make another Jackie Brown or Pulp Fiction-type movie, but it hasn't really happened yet. I do love Death Proof though. That one's pretty high on my Tarantino list too. As for Re-Animator, yeah I would definitely go with the Arrow blu-ray in your case. If you haven't seen it yet, no sense in dropping big coin on the deluxe edition. And knowing Arrow, I'm sure the blu-ray looks fantastic. Plus, my guess is that Arrow will eventually release a 4K of Re-Animator, even if it's just a UK-only release. I get the impression this Ignite Films release is under a U.S.- or North American-only license, so I wouldn't be surprised if Arrow still has the license for it in the UK. So if you end up really enjoying it, you can always upgrade to 4K later when/if Arrow releases a 4K. Great to hear from you Shuxy! Thanks for watching and sharing your enthusiasm. Love it!
I should have the Tarantino movies tomorrow and I just ordered Lifeforce. Thanks for mentioning that, I had no idea. I'm glad we're getting Armageddon and Con Air, but doesn't it seem like The Rock should be released with them? Thanks for the video.
Hi Steve! Oh I'm sure we'll get The Rock too at some point. Sony seems to really be on top of the Disney-owned catalog films, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time at this point. The people at Sony know what they're doing way more than Disney's home media department did. But I agree... The Rock is a top 4K wish list item for me too. Who knows... maybe we'll even hear more about it coming to 4K later on this year. I usually order from Amazon, so I probably won't have my Tarantino copies until release day (Amazon is seldom early). But I can't wait to see them... I hear they look ridiculously good! Lol. Anyway, thanks for watching and dropping a comment my friend! Great to hear from you!
Heres another one you missed just abbounced, Jeab de Florette /Manon of the Spring April 22 expensive at Criterion 56.95 Dollars, but yrsterday i saw it for 45 Dollars
Never even heard of that one. I'm not really the biggest Criterion guy, to be honest. I tend to not be interested in a lot of their catalog. I was kind of surprised I had so many Criterion choices on my list here... usually the films I'm interested in from them are few and far between.
Forgot about that one. I knew it was coming, but I wasn't aware of the date here in the U.S. But I will pick that one up too, because I'm a big Stallone fan. Thanks for watching!
That's not a bad idea... I might just chew on that one a little bit and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the tip! And of course, thanks for watching!
Wow. Decraprio and Brad Pitt annoy the heck out of me 😂🎉 Can't watch his films . The only film I can barely watch is World War Z as I'm a zombie fan. Looking forward to the Panic Room steelbook
The whole Brad Pint rant was hilarious! 😂

Lethal Weapon is also my most highly anticipated of these announced titles. Wayyyy overdue!!

Can't wait for panic room...will play nicely on my panasonic ub9000
No date yet, but I'm interested in The Fall from Umbrella. The visuals from that film will look amazing on 4K.

You inspired
Fuzz u 🤟 should do a worst looking Blu Ray list in your collection. Just an idea.
That's not a bad idea... I might just chew on that one a little bit and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the tip! And of course, thanks for watching!
