WALKING TOUR OF MAKAWAO MAUI | Maui's Hidden Little Gem

Makawao is a hidden gem in Maui that the great majority of tourists fail to see. Yet, it remains a highly visited and much loved. Located in up-country Maui it is easily accessed by those visiting Haleakalā volcano and is about 45 minutes from Wailea and Kaanapali. Don't forget to visit Kula Lodge when you're in the area and Sherri Reeve Gallery.
What is there to do in Makawao? Art! It is one of Hawaii's great artist communities. But, it's not all art so take your time, grab a bite to eat and enjoy the beaty that is, Makawao.

Moved from Hilo to Makawao had a house on Makawao ranch acres right up from the park. Went to Saint Joseph’s.

@@traveleaz I lived on the top of a hill in a subdivision called Makawao ranch acres. Just down from the municipal park. It was an amazing place to live. I used to love to climb higher up in our neighborhood. It was kind of slanted so I could go up a little higher on the elevation, and I could sit in a little grove of trees and just listen to the wind.

Thanks for this little walk-through. I will be visiting Maui soon and love see what small town strips like these have to offer. Hopefully I can come through here and take a look. Those shops look like great places to get something of good quality and that one restaurant with the view looks beautiful!😄

Sorry about that. What words did i not pronounce correctly? I have gone to Maui about 20 times and thought I knew how to pronounce the words so I am interested to hear where I failed.

Well that’s a very silly comment. I have friends who are native to the islands and love them and their culture dearly. All this particular video shows is the beautiful town of Makawao - that’s it. No commentary just video.
