- This is the Hark! The Herald Angels Sing sequence from Disney's 2009 movie A Christmas Carol. The original song is called "Touch My Robe." I added two sequences together as one to get the whole song into one clip. All rights go to their proper owners; I own nothing.
This is what most orchestral choir renditions of this song lack. The mood of the song is supposed to be, for lack of a better term, joyful and triumphant! It's a song about an angel announcing the birth of the saviour of humanity for Chrissake!! It's supposed to get you amped up. Most sung versions of this song give it a very soft, flowing mood; as if to say "Oh, what do you know? Our eternal salvation is at hand...isn't that lovely?" This version here, this gets it right; my heart pumping and I am enthralled, as if a great victory has been won for the forces of good in this world.
I say this purely as a musical critic, I'm not even remotely religious.

My favorite part of the entire movie is when Scrooge and ghost of Christmas Present fly over the giant cross, and Hark the angels Sing reaches its climax. Gdamn visuals man!

You know what's funny, there's so many popular movies and stories told around Christmas time, and yet it seems as if many if not all miss the point of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In large part, that's what I found so beautiful about this film, and Disney's surprising inclusion of songs, carols and mentions of God and Christ(staying loyal to the original story was important in that outcome, no doubt).

And of _course_ we don't know when his actual birthday was; he didn't make his birthday a holiday from Christianity's inception, and it's been nearly 2,000 years since. That doesn't mean it's _wrong_ to celebrate his birthday on December 25th, or any other day.
@@eleosparakhaous i wasnt saying he for sure didnt exist, all i was saying is that there is no documentation that he ever did exist until the bible, which remains the only contemporary written account of his existence and life, and it has proven to be an unreliable historical document. He very well may have been born, and as we have no idea when his actual birthday is, there is nothing wrong with making it the 25th. All i was saying is that no where in the bible is that date even mentioned. The 25th of december was a pagan winter solstice celebration before it was remade as a christian holiday, so that is likely why that date was chosen. Many other christmas traditions have pagan roots, so it would make sence.

This is the best version. None of the quiet choir when they sing like other covers. It needs to be loud and screaming when they sing. It’s angles celebrating and singing to the heavens of Jesus and his birth, not a quiet celebratory event
