Episodes I want to see this season: >Real Sociedad vs Athletic Club Bilbao(Basque Derby) >Hertha Berlin vs Union Berlin(Berlin Derby) >Genoa CFC vs UC Sampdoria >Hibernian FC vs Hearts of Midlothian(Edinburgh Derby)
As an Atleti fan, I’m eternally grateful for the Madrid piece, it captured the divide and showed the atmosphere so well. But honestly, Boca River was mental!
I lived in Berlin back when Hertha were relegated and regularly attended both Union and Hertha matches. I remember the first derby well for all the wrong reasons. My landlord was a great guy and offered me a ticket for the match. Sadly I HAD to work that evening and was absolutely gutted I couldn't go. I remember him leaving to go to the game with his Union scarf (he lived above me) heading for the underground train. I went with him as I was heading to work. When the train pulled up, it was a SEA of blue/Res scarves. Fans drinking, singing but no fighting or aggression. People were so excited. I was packed on the train with them chanting the entire way. I switched at the next station and the platform was FULL of fans from both teams. It was cold but people were happy, the place was buzzing, songs breaking out everywhere. Blue and red all across the platform. Regret I never got to see that derby but what a time and atmosphere even on the train alone. The whole city felt divided; everyone had picked a side
Waldhof Mannheim vs FC Kaiserslautern is a huge derby. You went to both clubs in the DFB cup video and you know how great their fans are. This season they play each other for the first time since 2001. I think this match would surprise many people because they wouldn't think that a 3rd division match can have such great atmosphare.
On the contrary, I think lower league derby's can often have better atmospheres as the passion is a lot less diluted by success and money, meaning it is down purely to the fundamentals of the rivalry and the (more-likely-to-be-local) fans really feel it.
Previous season, was great, now its AMAZING. Im new to this channel. Personally I think yours the best regarding sport documentary. I feel very much involved and entertain, watching Berlin derby, Pompey vs Southampton, Atalanta vs Brescia, Boca vs River. RESPECT.
Not been to see copa90 work for a while but this and the south coast derby piece has really got me into it as I’m from there , looking forward to more to come
Go to the small Revierderby: Former Bundesligsclubs now playing in fourth division: Rot-Weiß Oberhausen - Rot Weiss Essen! But it has to take place in Oberhausen: the stadium is located on an "island" between two rivers and is from the 1920s.
Do a video about how derby days are created, behind the scenes. How are interviews conducted if you don't speak the same languages? How are all the shots taken? How do you meet everyone?
I dont know what the oldest rivalry is that youve covered so far, but Karlsruher SC vs Vfb Stuttgart goes straight back to Napoleon (befor the football clubs existed). And for the fans of KSC its about the lost independence of their state Baden, now goverened by Stuttgart. David against Goliath. Really interesting backround!
Please come to India sometime for Mohun Bagan vs East Bengal. Yes, India is not a football crazy nation like compared to other parts of the world but that Derby has one of the most passionate support ever!!
Glad you covered Cascadia in the MLS, but please do it again, and see the Seattle side of things, spend the game in Seattle and see all the different sub groups of the ECS
I love the Galicia episode and I almost always go back to it for some reason that's hard to describe. It just conveys such passion and so poetically portrays the region and people.
hope you come back to Hungary to watch the Ferencvaros-Ujpest derby with the Ferencvaros ultras back in the stadium. The atmosphere is absolutely crazy
you should check the niedersachsen derby between eintracht braunschweig and hannover 96.. idk when it will happen again but it’s one of the biggest in germany
Malmö FF Vs FC Köpenhamn! The smallest distance of two teams to play vs each other every in European football, and the battle of the North. It's crazy.
It may not fit into the theme of infrequent meetings but I would love to see some pieces on Greek League football: Panathanaikos vs Olympiakos and PAOK vs Aris
I study journalism and honestly, this is it for me, this is the holy grail. I’d love to something like this with my career, going to all these amazing grounds and living experiences like this. Would be an honour for me to live my passion
You should do the Prague Derby or of it is ever comes around BFC Dynamo vs Dynamo Dresden, or Magdeburg vs Dynamo Dresden. I wonder if they've done Der Klassiker yet?
I have seen you guys at the last training session of Hertha BSC before their Derby against Union a few weeks ago. 1500 of us showed up to the training and i saw you guys filming us haha
Bro go watch Deportivo Cali vs America de Cali in Colombia, that's a fierce rivalry that you should definitely experience. They play each other this 17th & 20th of November.
Hope someday you can enjoy oriental Andalusian derby between Malaga and Granada, the strangest derby because people are very friendly each other in that derby ,sharing food and good vibes.
Wishes for the next Derby Days: Lyon-ASSE Panathinaikos-Olympiakos Wydad-Raja Casablanca Nürnberg-Fürth And please come to Vienna once again for Great Viennese Derby. And this time, come to a Home Derby of Rapid. You haven't even seen our fans freaking out during the game, because of the away fan ban at that time.
This series is absolutely quality. I was disappointed the Merseyside Derby you ended up at was a complete dead rubber. Though the sad truth is that money and a worldwide fan base who don't really 'get' the ins-and-outs of a local derby has sucked a lot of the passion out of top-flight English stadiums (even if things are still as passionate as ever outside of the stadiums).
doing episodes of less talked about derbies would be cool to give them more exposure, south america, africa, and north america have a lot of passionate fans that are rarely ever talked about
jake domínguez well copa90 has been busy taking that big corporate payout and trying to focus on many other things than the atmosphere and supporters for the past year or two.
Hi Copa90 Friends Cordially inviting you to come down to Kolkata in India for the Asia's Biggest Derby: East Bengal VS Mohun Bagan. It's a century old Derby. Buy my words you will be overwhelmed Love & Respect from Kolkata.. Waiting for you 💓🤟👌🏴☠️🇮🇳
If Zlatan leaves, I doubt they’ll do it. He is basically the main reason why people outside of LA and people who don’t watch the MLS, talk about it. But hopefully they do it, with the few games they’ve played it’s been good games.
Not sure they’ll do it. There is a video on the first ever match between the 2 and that could be considered something like Derby Days even though it isn’t.
Best derby is Belgrade derby, when you were interviewing people in Belgrade, you should interview the fans of clubs bcs you will see passion from them, everydarby any of fans can't sleep, it's just something magic, if our club wins we celebrate like we winned the world cup if we lose we go home and cry. I can give my life that if Red Star play the final of CL and win or be the first in the world that will be the biggest celebretion of all time, whole Serbia will be red and white, that will be just biggest celebration in history of world. Argentina history is football and Serbia history is war, dying and best football. Football and our personality is the only thing that saved Serbia from dying. Every day i woke up in tears bcs Red Star is not playing good. In 1991 Red Star become the first in world i just wanna expiriance that happines, that tears of all, that magic and just die, i don't care i just wanna to Red Star be the first again and God can take me and up there evryone is fans of Red Star! And as Red Star song says: I'm a gypsy ( slang Red Star fans) , that doesn't change things, my old man was a gypsy, he was 62 years old, he didn't have a wife and a child, and when he got his hands on women in 2 hours he made me and sent me to gypsy schools to learn the Red Star's slogans. When I die and leave my body, put on me Red Star suit, make a chest from a Red Star flag and bury me with a priest Dzaja ( probably the best Red Star player of all time), Marakno (Red Star stadium) tourist place I visit you often... Crying and typing this, Red Star is evrything, Red Star is 1th thing in our lives, it matters more than family!!!

I guess that means we’re getting the Berlin Derby this season
