it's bad because most of sims players don't have schedule for playing sims. it can be like.. once in 3 days, or even once a week and once a month. they're casual gamers. and that's why sims players cant be called as "gamer". except if they truly play sims4 that much. like this channel for example, mainly just building stuff. but she do her own sims series tho. but still mainly is building stuff. sims 4 became a medium either for construction application thingy or for ppl who installed wicked whims to unleash their fantasies... edit: btw I don't do this grim reaper login task thing

It's been a catalyst to set-up the new save file I've been prevaricating about since my Dad died earlier this year, it's taken "something" to get me to open the Sims again, and face up to the himself that is still alive and kicking in my game. It's been a year of devastation for our little family, but having always been a "morbid" soul, the Life and Death expansion seems to have been tailor made to buoy-up my shrivelled old heart. This lead-in with gentle-ish quests, but more than just mere login rewards, has been wonderful, though I can see why it's a bit milquetoast for those in a less delicate emotional state!
Oh is THAT how it works. I could not for the life of me figure it out. I thought it was like the spooky paintings in the spooky pack and it changed on its own. Good to know, I’ll try it
tbh i really like it because i can play how i like and its a side quest that gives structure and ideas to my stories! and i like free stuff :) i wouldnt mind if they did stuff like that again

I like this event as it gives me a reason to keep playing the sims and not just simply abandon it because of burnout, plus it gives me an excuse to do the ambrosia as I haven't done it in years and I already forgot how to make it lol. That being said, I wish that some of the rewards felt a little bit more... unique? I don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way though
i've actually loved the reapers rewards! being given goals and not knowing what the next goals will be has kept me really engaged, especially bc i've never made ambrosia before. and the weekly events kind of timed out how much id play a week and got me excited for the next batch of goals. i rly hope they do more events like it!
I've had to reset my Sims file every week to get access to it - cut the whole Sims 4 file and paste it into a separate safe place, reopen EA and start a new save file. It's annoying, but it's the only thing I've gotten to work.
I had problems with my goals not counting but i ended up removing organized debug and repairing the game and that brought it right back i suggest doing that if you guys havent already
its annoying how its still broken for people even after the recent base game update. (Yes, I repaired my game trough EA, and removed my mods, and also disabled mods in settings)
Did you try the sims 4 "factory reset" (renaming 'The Sims 4' folder in documents and start a game and let the game create a new one)? I think it's worth the try.
Your Sim has to view or admire the Mimsy painting to get it to change, it's pretty neat when it does. One of my Sims had high enough Mixology skill and the Spectral Spritzer drink was available for her to make, Week 1. I guess they forgot to lock that knowledge up!
I was doing Reaper's Rewards with a spellcaster sim and it had an extra goal for that household to visit Caster's Alley, with the goal mentioning that Angelfish can often be bought there!
mine stopped working. im disappointed in the sims for this, I hope they add everything to the game later for people who tried. its unfair that some people miss out because the game won't work
@@EverHillsRanch idk if you have any mods or cc in use if so try and remove them and or repair the game star a new save file and then it should work fine for the moment
mine has been broken since week one so :(( it looked really fun esp since im a newer player so i havent maxed any skills like that or have that many packs so any new content is fun :((
I had to restart my rewards yesterday because mods that were supposedly up to date broke the event. It ended up being pretty straight forward to do from the beginning in one go.
The lot trait is great if you have sims visit your lot often. They will leave you gifts and thank you for the scare. I have a butler in my game and she is constantly giving me books and fruit as a thank you. Great for selling for a bit of extra cash.
Maybe check if you have any mods or similar things in game if so take them out try to repair the game check your game if it’s now working if not try a new created save and if it’s still not going check out their help center
The reapers rewards broke a week ago for me and they haven’t fixed it. I’ve given up. It figures that so many people have a broken rewards. This was too ambitious to do while also doing an update
Several people uploaded the reaper's rewards items to the gallery back when it began (not sure if those have since been taken down), so I downloaded that instead and haven't bothered to participate.
I play on Ps5 and for the last few weeks it has just been gone from my game. It always shows an ad when I enter the main menu, but when I load into my save, the plumbob is just not there, and so I can’t do any of the challenges. I really wanted some of the later items, so it’s really annoying that it doesn’t even work for me
i bet i would have liked the event if i was able to play it! 😭😭😭 i have no dlc or mods and ive been stuck since week one. none of the fixes work for me either. it’s a shame because i probably would have bought the expansion if the base game wasn’t so glitchy. oh well.
Do you have any mods or cc installed? If so try and take them out repair the game and create a new save to play the event whit if it’s still not working check out their help center for the event
I've loved playing this challenge tbh! I made my sim a friend of the world, Grim is my sims best friend, and I've never played with death before, so I've never played with Grim, and he is my new favorite character! Love this challenge!!
Mine keep glitching out. Some days it'll work, other days won't. I think it's managed to get weeks 3 before the update that broke the game for me, again 😢 😕
I reckon it would be fun if they modified the Reaper's Rewards event in to a scenario, and maybe this time you start with a ghost (with a really common name like Daniel Smith) who the reaper reaped by accident, and you go through the stages to try and make ambrosia to bring yourself back to life... That way, it would be available for people who start playing after the event is over, but they have to go through the same steps to unlock the goods. I've made a Newcrest Botanical Garden lot because of how frustrating the grafting is, especially since Seasons cut down the number of crops you can harvest from most plants, and the game doesn't do a good job of warning you if it's better to graft the rarer plant on to the most common one or vice versa. I believe that you're generally better grafting common on to uncommon, but I haven't the time or will to test that fully. I wish grafting would let you increase the yield of a plant, or increase the seasons you harvest it in, it's a function that could have been so much more interesting to explore
My Sims already had 10 perfect bushes of death flowers before the start of this event. Also, one had already completed the Master Chef aspiration, meaning level 10 in both cooking and gourmet cooking, as well as the fisherman aspiration for fishing level 10 and Independent Naturalist for level 10 in gardening. Talk about a head start... Graft the cherry on the apple tree and the apple on the cherry tree to double your chances of getting a promenade. Bough some death flowers at the magic ingredient shop from the Magic Realm, fished some more and, just for the kick, got some from grafting. That Reaper tattoo... I have a CC that have some pretty similar ones, for both arms, both legs, back and chest.
i’m sure i would love this event if it would actually appear in my game :’( it’ll give me advertisements for it on my home screen but it doesn’t show up in the game no matter what i’ve tried
I've heard the event has been quite buggy. I've only run into that problem once luckily (and recently), but otherwise, I've enjoyed having goals to work towards
All of a sudden this week my sim wont move for like 2 hours when i click on something for them to do, the amount of times i have to reset makes the game almost unplayable
Last week took me FOREVER to complete! With the plant bug where they keep resetting to the newly planted state it took me my teenager's entire teenage life stage (set to long) to get a death flower. This week's event took me about 3 minutes. Slightly disappointing, but a nice relief after last week's gardening hell.
I missed, in real time, the first four weeks but I played *all night* until 3am trying to grow my lilies and snapdragons (I couldn’t find them anywhere until Harvestfest’s gnomes and they were always out of season around my world). I’m biased but this event is so fun and if I could continue doing this challenge even after it’s done, I’d be so happy!!

I've been your fan for so long, you and your videos and you streams have helped me go through high school and the pandemic, your channel made me discover my love for the sims and also helped me discover my calling, (I'm literrally graduating in my interior design school tomorrow) and now that you and Dan are finally living together and planning your wedding, it makes me hopefull while I wait for me and the man I love to be together one day. I enjoy it i wasnt playing for a few months but one day opened it to see whats been going on and the rewards surprised me. It actually pulled me back into the sims bc i wanted the bat fish, the cow plant bike the tattoo and thoes purple eyes. If they did this wvery few weeks im sure they would get simmers back online. And if they made cool 1 time chance items you can work twards im sure some simmers would go nuts and do all the quests needed to get that 1 item they really want. I enjoy it a frick ton. 🙆🏻♀️💗
They could use this chance to take poles from the community on what items we'd love to see as a reward we can work towards. I'm sure it wouldn't be to hard to make 5 small new items every few weeks??
Touch wood, the weeks and prizes haven’t paused like for some people. However, I do just keep cheating each time it requires a plant that is created by spliced together (an orchid or pomegranate etc) as the plant just never produces it. Like, in the plants info line it says that it is a Lily, Orchid and a Snapdragon, and yet it never produces orchids? So I have just been searching up the plants on the gallery and placing them on the lot. Seems rude to cheat, but if I can’t get the game to work then what’s the point! I hope the people who have had the whole experience freeze can eventually get the gifts another way through the gallery or something
for the scare seeker lot trait, i've been playing on a haunted house residental lot and i've found that when people visit they'll just give me a TON of skill books and snapdragons lmao "thanks for the scare! here's a gift" is the popup dialogue. i honestly find it more annoying than anything because it's just the same skill books and flowers over and over. but i've noticed it really only does that on a haunted house lot which is interesting imo.
If it makes you feel better, I'm pretty sure there was a tip or something that popped up when I did mine that told me I could go to the Realm of Magic and buy the Death Flower 😂 so it's canon
I have a Sim doing this and the Scare Seeker lot trait only activated when I had some aggressive thunderstorms lol. Multiple random Sims who were passing by thanked her for the scares and gave her skill-up books and something else but I forget what it was so it probably wasn't an interesting item. Of note: my Sim has the Child of the Islands trait and she would frequently get bonuses to her energy bar after communing with the island spirits! Which was actually very helpful for getting things done since I'm very behind on starting this event.
I personally really enjoy the event but the fact that u HAVE to play or miss out on free content kinda sucks. If they do what they apparently did with the last event and sneakily give everybody all the items a little after the event ends, i would be very very happy
My reapers rewards event stopped working in week 4 and it sucks. I want to play so badly. Nothing is fixing it and I hope they offer these items in an update or something because so many people can’t play.
The event has worked perfectly for me, except the first week when betterbuildbuy glitched it but that was easily fixed. I also have a pretty big cc folder with quite a few script mods so idk what people have going on with their games for it to break so badly. At this point I'm beginning to think it's computer gremlins or something. Even console players are affected and they don't even have mods! I really hope at the end of this EA will just give the rewards out to everyone, considering how botched its been. It would be really unfair otherwise.
It's still broken for me, so sadly it ended a long time ago. Don't recommend anything to help. I've done EVERYTHING. Not going to uninstall and reinstall the game btw :3
I don’t know what you have tried before but for me it helped to take everything mods and cc out and repair the game maybe this could help you out but if not try an check out the help center/ page

Yeah its really unfortunate that it’s so bugged, my one tip is if you really want the rewards there are ppl uploading the items in rooms on the gallery and I think sims w/ the new cas items too
@@dajazman6858 but I don't want to pay for all the items everything just to have a bike or something. What if I'm doing a legacy or don't have the money and need that bike? And I also wouldn't want to get someone's sim with the cas item anyway. It usually says I don't have the items and says "these items have been removed" regardless.
I haven't been able to progress past the bike reward. Also, i traveled to Caster's Alley to buy an angle fish, and for some reason, it didn't count as getting a angle fish.
@@King.of.Battleships you can first go into CAS with your household and make there a new save in Your libary and out of this household and then if you Start a new save pick out your new libary save and replace the random sim there with it
Here it is! I've waited for this video to see how one with Simsie's expertise gets the Orchid without buying it. I've grafted Snapdragon and Lily onto each other because it's unclear which will grow an Orchid at higher chance, fertilise them the instant the cooldown runs out and it's driving me insane. Each new Sim day I zoom in on the hybrids full of hope only to be disappointed anew. The vendor hasn't had an Orchid yet, but it's good it's so expensive so I won't buy it even if she has. And all the time I've got to be super careful the Sim doesn't cook the Angelfish by accident! This game is giving IRL burnout, which is not meant as complaint. Now seeing rich people being fenced in outside in the cold to freeze them to death feels too real, somehow. Combined with phrases like "my ex girl friend-she doesn't know she is, but to me she is" it just gives the right Morgan vibes. I think her finally finding her SO should make me feel happy for her? Someone prioritising kittens over loot can't be a bad person after all. However, I feel sad for that one who put the Sim up into the gallery in expectation of her making another lonely heart happy. Well, in the end she did my granting that aspiration goal, making me feel happy again, boosted by the fact that Morgan sports some body fluff for more cosiness in winter. 🙂
i think the reaper's rewards is especially fun in a save NOT dedicated to it. the quests are just an addition to what my sim is already doing - trying to discover, research, and/or interact with every occult and supernatural thing in game. just saved strangerville and need a break before getting to plant sims? feeling a little bored between adventures? oh good, a new quest week! that type of deal lol and, once i've gone through everything, she'll be a grimtern so it works out - eventually working under her old pal grim after spending time getting to know aliens, plant sims, skeletons, werewolves, vampires, spellcasters, the night wraith...etc etc.
Btw, grafting is broken, no pomegranates no orchids EVER because you only have a 1% chance. Yes. My plants are in a green house. Yes. I do understand how grafting works. Yes. I know pomegranates and orchids will only produce harvestables in season. Yes. I have cheated them to be in season. None of those things change the fact there’s only a 1% chance of getting a pome or orchid. The difficulty level is too high and you’re better off buying one, or getting from the gallery. You also get a one time chance to buy it from your phone during the event
When you add the Thrill Seeker trait, you are better to also add the following challenges : Spooky, Volcanic Activity and Seismic Activity. All three tend to make Sims frightened.
and trying to make players to play sims everyday. disgusting... they don't know that sims players are casual gamers. meaning that it's not a serious type of grinding gamer kinda thing. this is not a mobile game with their login rewards thing.
I thought i was in for a long haul as I'm more of a builder and most of my sims have not competed asperations , hence do not have a lot of points for the rewards shop . Lucky I cheated in money to build instead of using free build so i just changed asperation to wealth and got my points . This has got me interested in playing the game as indented a bit more with less cheating . You can add traits with cheats so i had no idea about the rewards store until now .
The reaper's rewards is great when it works, but I've definitely had a few bugs along the way. The most consistent one is the newsletter - the mail delivery person keeps getting stuck in a constant wave loop before they can make the delivery. it's a weird animation because it's not the same as the regular one when a sim's path is blocked. not sure if anyone else is getting it but I've been having to cheat to fill the mailbox. deleting the mailbox and putting in a new one does not fix the problem either.
I had to purchase an orchid from the Garden Shop in Hedford on Bagley, took a few Sims days checking for one,. but it was needed. After grafting 5+ Snapdragons and Lillies, NONE of them let me harvest orchids, IDK why, never had that issue before. No issue with the final tree though, I was able to harvest the deathflower.
I really like the event! It's given me a chance to play very chaotically, which I rarely do because I'm very careful with my storylines. So to not disturb them, I'm playing with a new safe with the Calientes and oh boy, it's been fun. First I was playing the event with Nina but she married Don and then caught him cheating with her mom (it's ok tho, she was cheating on him too). He was also cheating with another 3 people, including her sister, but that's not the point. So Nina died of anger, even though she was best friends with Reaper. Dina had to continue with the challenge. Now, Don is on his way to get every woman he meets pregnant (he has 9 children at the moment and 3 on their way), and Dina has her own Sewing Circle Club (with some beautiful women who she has convinced to not get jealous and have some "fun activities" whenever they reunite), but she's also in love with Nalanie and has a deep romantic connection with Reaper. Oh, also, Katrina has 2 babies, one with Father Christmas, even though she's already engaged with another guy.
I didn't even see the 'talk to three plants' one 😆 i'd gone to casters alley for an angelfish but found a deathflower, so that one automatically ticked off, but i think because she's erratic she just *constantly* goes to talk to her plants. also the portait definitely moves, but i think your sim has to admire it a few times for it to happen...
I ended up playing with this sim and going all in on gardening, flower arranging, nectar making, and potion making! She's becoming a spellcaster in my save!
You have to click on the picture for it to move. Also pomegranate can be bought on the phone. I think orchids can be bought in wedding world and the love struck world.
Am i the only one whos stuck in week 4 and 5 the task will not show ,I can click the reaper button but it will not give me the task and it's so annoying like can ea do something well witouth it having troubles 😭☠️
If you ever need a pomegranate again you should be able to buy them from the gift menu on the phone... I typically default to gardening in my rags-to-riches playthroughs so I use that gift menu to buy pomegranates and roses instead of using the rng of the seed packets or waiting for them to be available in the world. 😊
Mine was broken until the latest patch. I've spedrun it, I think I'm on the final week now. I think it's an okay event. For a 1st event like this, I think it's generically successful. The tasks are easy, fine. Grafting is something few people do now because it's just so easy to buy the things. Hated the "Buy A Death Flower" option, ruins the fun of grafting a death flower with your own two hands. Worst part about the event is how crazy buggy it is. Hopefully they learned a lot about events from this first try and the next one wont be so utterly broken for a month+
I'm having fun with the event but i wish it worked for everyone. My sim stubbornly decided to fix the stove while he was already dazed so he (as a ghost) and his boyfriend are now working towards bringing him back with ambrosia. Btw just in case no one else mentioned, you need to press view on the painting to see it change, it dosn't happen everytime but its cool when it changes.
I wish I could even participate as they have been broken since week 2 😒 Love to see that PC has a solution but console players like myself are SOL. I have tried everything including both uninstalling and reinstalling everything, as well as starting a new household. This is frustrating and doesn’t make me want to drop $40 on an expansion pack no matter how excited I may have been for it.
Hopefully after this is all over they just add the rewards to the game automatically like they did last time since the event is so broken for so many people
I actually love the Reaper’s Event, sadly there are a LOT of bugs and I’m sick of spending hours on trying to find the reason to why only the Reaper’s Event icon shows up and the tasks don’t appear in my game :(
I’ve been playing through this event with Kyle Kyleson of all people. I don’t really know how I got to that decision but it’s been pretty fun. He has two kids now and I just aged them up from infants to toddlers after both of them got all the infant milestones. Why I did that to myself I will never know but Kyle is basically a god now and he has like $200,000 from gardening😅
5:35 If you have Horse Ranch and use MC Command Center cheat on the nectar making barrels you can get a death flower but choosing Give All Ingredients or something along those lines…
ive been playing in a tiny home with the homey trait and i have 200k simoleons and have been level 10 in skills for a WHILE. but ive been having fun keeping up every week, ive never stuck with a save this long either?? since ive just been Given a storyline/goal to follow. im excited for the last week and to see how my sim develops from that point onwards :]
I like to think the "lady mimsy portrait" is a family heirloom passed down for so many generations, and mimsy might not be part of the family but she was a very important person back in the day and the fact its burned makes me think it survived a toilet fire or something.... :P
My sim threw a dinner party and made those ghost drinks for everybody. Kind of fun to see the visitors turning ghosts! However, one sim clitched and didn't ever turn back (he hadn't actually died, I checked) so my sim had to master ambrosia a bit sooner to bring him back😄
I was just looking at the Pack bundles and why is Lovestruck NOT in the Get Dating bundle?!?! The way the Sims do things makes no sense. I also see that For Rent is 25% off…. “Here is a pack that is broken and maybe works 75% of the time, but we took 25% off the price for a limited time so you can buy it. And no we probably won’t fix it.” This game is so frustrating sometimes!
Like the actual fun part about it has been the actual storytelling challenge - especially as it let's you explore things you probably wouldn't necessarily do during average playthrough. Which makes it so much damn more annoying that it isn't just a regulad scenario that can always be accessed by people, but instead it's a scam FOMO.
i actually love the reaper's rewards it gives me something to do and a goal to work towards while getting presents

If it's not CC, you might need to repair your game. Check out the forums for your specific issue; it helped me fix the issues I was having.

I had that issue too. I found that moving out a specific file that contains the rewards helped. Someone posted instructions on the forums 😊
Either Ui Cheats or Mccc has a known conflict with reapers rewards. I’ve been having to remove mods and then repair my game every week to access it
I had to restart my rewards yesterday because mods that were supposedly up to date broke the event. It ended up being pretty straight forward to do from the beginning in one go.
The lot trait is great if you have sims visit your lot often. They will leave you gifts and thank you for the scare. I have a butler in my game and she is constantly giving me books and fruit as a thank you. Great for selling for a bit of extra cash.

The reapers rewards broke a week ago for me and they haven’t fixed it. I’ve given up. It figures that so many people have a broken rewards. This was too ambitious to do while also doing an update

Several people uploaded the reaper's rewards items to the gallery back when it began (not sure if those have since been taken down), so I downloaded that instead and haven't bothered to participate.
This week I was able to finish so fast. I went to Caster's alley and they were selling death flowers hahaha
Unfortunetely, it's very buggy, I feel sorry for everyone who can't complete it
I play on Ps5 and for the last few weeks it has just been gone from my game. It always shows an ad when I enter the main menu, but when I load into my save, the plumbob is just not there, and so I can’t do any of the challenges. I really wanted some of the later items, so it’s really annoying that it doesn’t even work for me
i bet i would have liked the event if i was able to play it! 😭😭😭 i have no dlc or mods and ive been stuck since week one. none of the fixes work for me either. it’s a shame because i probably would have bought the expansion if the base game wasn’t so glitchy. oh well.

the death flower part was the hardest for me, i gave up on the gardening part bc it took too long so i caved and bought it through the phone.

I've loved playing this challenge tbh! I made my sim a friend of the world, Grim is my sims best friend, and I've never played with death before, so I've never played with Grim, and he is my new favorite character! Love this challenge!!
Mine keep glitching out. Some days it'll work, other days won't. I think it's managed to get weeks 3 before the update that broke the game for me, again 😢 😕
Very frustrating, the event stopped working after week 1. I tried a few things but still does not work... Si obviously does not feel good about it
I don’t know what you have tried but for me it helped to take out all mods and cc repair the game and create a new save file for the event

I reckon it would be fun if they modified the Reaper's Rewards event in to a scenario, and maybe this time you start with a ghost (with a really common name like Daniel Smith) who the reaper reaped by accident, and you go through the stages to try and make ambrosia to bring yourself back to life... That way, it would be available for people who start playing after the event is over, but they have to go through the same steps to unlock the goods.
I've made a Newcrest Botanical Garden lot because of how frustrating the grafting is, especially since Seasons cut down the number of crops you can harvest from most plants, and the game doesn't do a good job of warning you if it's better to graft the rarer plant on to the most common one or vice versa. I believe that you're generally better grafting common on to uncommon, but I haven't the time or will to test that fully. I wish grafting would let you increase the yield of a plant, or increase the seasons you harvest it in, it's a function that could have been so much more interesting to explore
My Sims already had 10 perfect bushes of death flowers before the start of this event. Also, one had already completed the Master Chef aspiration, meaning level 10 in both cooking and gourmet cooking, as well as the fisherman aspiration for fishing level 10 and Independent Naturalist for level 10 in gardening. Talk about a head start...
Graft the cherry on the apple tree and the apple on the cherry tree to double your chances of getting a promenade.
Bough some death flowers at the magic ingredient shop from the Magic Realm, fished some more and, just for the kick, got some from grafting.
That Reaper tattoo... I have a CC that have some pretty similar ones, for both arms, both legs, back and chest.

I've heard the event has been quite buggy. I've only run into that problem once luckily (and recently), but otherwise, I've enjoyed having goals to work towards

All of a sudden this week my sim wont move for like 2 hours when i click on something for them to do, the amount of times i have to reset makes the game almost unplayable
There actually is a non-burnt version in the game, I think it is from the pack.
Last week took me FOREVER to complete! With the plant bug where they keep resetting to the newly planted state it took me my teenager's entire teenage life stage (set to long) to get a death flower. This week's event took me about 3 minutes. Slightly disappointing, but a nice relief after last week's gardening hell.
Oh, and I forgot about keeping plants in a shelter. So I was also dealing with seasons. But that was my own stupidity, not the game's fault.
I missed, in real time, the first four weeks but I played *all night* until 3am trying to grow my lilies and snapdragons (I couldn’t find them anywhere until Harvestfest’s gnomes and they were always out of season around my world). I’m biased but this event is so fun and if I could continue doing this challenge even after it’s done, I’d be so happy!!

I've been your fan for so long, you and your videos and you streams have helped me go through high school and the pandemic, your channel made me discover my love for the sims and also helped me discover my calling, (I'm literrally graduating in my interior design school tomorrow) and now that you and Dan are finally living together and planning your wedding, it makes me hopefull while I wait for me and the man I love to be together one day. I enjoy it i wasnt playing for a few months but one day opened it to see whats been going on and the rewards surprised me. It actually pulled me back into the sims bc i wanted the bat fish, the cow plant bike the tattoo and thoes purple eyes. If they did this wvery few weeks im sure they would get simmers back online. And if they made cool 1 time chance items you can work twards im sure some simmers would go nuts and do all the quests needed to get that 1 item they really want. I enjoy it a frick ton. 🙆🏻♀️💗
They could use this chance to take poles from the community on what items we'd love to see as a reward we can work towards. I'm sure it wouldn't be to hard to make 5 small new items every few weeks??

Touch wood, the weeks and prizes haven’t paused like for some people. However, I do just keep cheating each time it requires a plant that is created by spliced together (an orchid or pomegranate etc) as the plant just never produces it. Like, in the plants info line it says that it is a Lily, Orchid and a Snapdragon, and yet it never produces orchids? So I have just been searching up the plants on the gallery and placing them on the lot. Seems rude to cheat, but if I can’t get the game to work then what’s the point! I hope the people who have had the whole experience freeze can eventually get the gifts another way through the gallery or something
for the scare seeker lot trait, i've been playing on a haunted house residental lot and i've found that when people visit they'll just give me a TON of skill books and snapdragons lmao
"thanks for the scare! here's a gift" is the popup dialogue. i honestly find it more annoying than anything because it's just the same skill books and flowers over and over.
but i've noticed it really only does that on a haunted house lot which is interesting imo.

If it makes you feel better, I'm pretty sure there was a tip or something that popped up when I did mine that told me I could go to the Realm of Magic and buy the Death Flower 😂 so it's canon

As someone who can't afford the new pack, I actually like the event since it feels like it gives me a chance to participate.
I have a Sim doing this and the Scare Seeker lot trait only activated when I had some aggressive thunderstorms lol. Multiple random Sims who were passing by thanked her for the scares and gave her skill-up books and something else but I forget what it was so it probably wasn't an interesting item. Of note: my Sim has the Child of the Islands trait and she would frequently get bonuses to her energy bar after communing with the island spirits! Which was actually very helpful for getting things done since I'm very behind on starting this event.

I personally really enjoy the event but the fact that u HAVE to play or miss out on free content kinda sucks. If they do what they apparently did with the last event and sneakily give everybody all the items a little after the event ends, i would be very very happy
My reapers rewards event stopped working in week 4 and it sucks. I want to play so badly. Nothing is fixing it and I hope they offer these items in an update or something because so many people can’t play.
The event has worked perfectly for me, except the first week when betterbuildbuy glitched it but that was easily fixed. I also have a pretty big cc folder with quite a few script mods so idk what people have going on with their games for it to break so badly. At this point I'm beginning to think it's computer gremlins or something. Even console players are affected and they don't even have mods! I really hope at the end of this EA will just give the rewards out to everyone, considering how botched its been. It would be really unfair otherwise.
It's still broken for me, so sadly it ended a long time ago. Don't recommend anything to help. I've done EVERYTHING. Not going to uninstall and reinstall the game btw :3
I don’t know what you have tried before but for me it helped to take everything mods and cc out and repair the game maybe this could help you out but if not try an check out the help center/ page

Yeah its really unfortunate that it’s so bugged, my one tip is if you really want the rewards there are ppl uploading the items in rooms on the gallery and I think sims w/ the new cas items too
@@dajazman6858 but I don't want to pay for all the items everything just to have a bike or something. What if I'm doing a legacy or don't have the money and need that bike? And I also wouldn't want to get someone's sim with the cas item anyway. It usually says I don't have the items and says "these items have been removed" regardless.
I haven't been able to progress past the bike reward.
Also, i traveled to Caster's Alley to buy an angle fish, and for some reason, it didn't count as getting a angle fish.

@@King.of.Battleships you can first go into CAS with your household and make there a new save in Your libary and out of this household and then if you Start a new save pick out your new libary save and replace the random sim there with it
Here it is! I've waited for this video to see how one with Simsie's expertise gets the Orchid without buying it. I've grafted Snapdragon and Lily onto each other because it's unclear which will grow an Orchid at higher chance, fertilise them the instant the cooldown runs out and it's driving me insane. Each new Sim day I zoom in on the hybrids full of hope only to be disappointed anew. The vendor hasn't had an Orchid yet, but it's good it's so expensive so I won't buy it even if she has. And all the time I've got to be super careful the Sim doesn't cook the Angelfish by accident! This game is giving IRL burnout, which is not meant as complaint.
Now seeing rich people being fenced in outside in the cold to freeze them to death feels too real, somehow. Combined with phrases like "my ex girl friend-she doesn't know she is, but to me she is" it just gives the right Morgan vibes. I think her finally finding her SO should make me feel happy for her? Someone prioritising kittens over loot can't be a bad person after all. However, I feel sad for that one who put the Sim up into the gallery in expectation of her making another lonely heart happy. Well, in the end she did my granting that aspiration goal, making me feel happy again, boosted by the fact that Morgan sports some body fluff for more cosiness in winter. 🙂

i think the reaper's rewards is especially fun in a save NOT dedicated to it. the quests are just an addition to what my sim is already doing - trying to discover, research, and/or interact with every occult and supernatural thing in game. just saved strangerville and need a break before getting to plant sims? feeling a little bored between adventures? oh good, a new quest week!

and, once i've gone through everything, she'll be a grimtern so it works out - eventually working under her old pal grim after spending time getting to know aliens, plant sims, skeletons, werewolves, vampires, spellcasters, the night wraith...etc etc.

Btw, grafting is broken, no pomegranates no orchids EVER because you only have a 1% chance. Yes. My plants are in a green house. Yes. I do understand how grafting works. Yes. I know pomegranates and orchids will only produce harvestables in season. Yes. I have cheated them to be in season. None of those things change the fact there’s only a 1% chance of getting a pome or orchid. The difficulty level is too high and you’re better off buying one, or getting from the gallery. You also get a one time chance to buy it from your phone during the event

When you add the Thrill Seeker trait, you are better to also add the following challenges : Spooky, Volcanic Activity and Seismic Activity. All three tend to make Sims frightened.

I thought i was in for a long haul as I'm more of a builder and most of my sims have not competed asperations , hence do not have a lot of points for the rewards shop . Lucky I cheated in money to build instead of using free build so i just changed asperation to wealth and got my points . This has got me interested in playing the game as indented a bit more with less cheating . You can add traits with cheats so i had no idea about the rewards store until now .
I had done two weeks on it (while it still being buggy) then it glitched back to week 1, so I gave up on it because I don't want to start it again.

The reaper's rewards is great when it works, but I've definitely had a few bugs along the way. The most consistent one is the newsletter - the mail delivery person keeps getting stuck in a constant wave loop before they can make the delivery. it's a weird animation because it's not the same as the regular one when a sim's path is blocked. not sure if anyone else is getting it but I've been having to cheat to fill the mailbox. deleting the mailbox and putting in a new one does not fix the problem either.
The event bugged out for me and I'm literally incapable of finishing it on my account. Fun.
I had to purchase an orchid from the Garden Shop in Hedford on Bagley, took a few Sims days checking for one,. but it was needed. After grafting 5+ Snapdragons and Lillies, NONE of them let me harvest orchids, IDK why, never had that issue before. No issue with the final tree though, I was able to harvest the deathflower.
I really like the event! It's given me a chance to play very chaotically, which I rarely do because I'm very careful with my storylines. So to not disturb them, I'm playing with a new safe with the Calientes and oh boy, it's been fun.
First I was playing the event with Nina but she married Don and then caught him cheating with her mom (it's ok tho, she was cheating on him too). He was also cheating with another 3 people, including her sister, but that's not the point. So Nina died of anger, even though she was best friends with Reaper. Dina had to continue with the challenge.
Now, Don is on his way to get every woman he meets pregnant (he has 9 children at the moment and 3 on their way), and Dina has her own Sewing Circle Club (with some beautiful women who she has convinced to not get jealous and have some "fun activities" whenever they reunite), but she's also in love with Nalanie and has a deep romantic connection with Reaper.
Oh, also, Katrina has 2 babies, one with Father Christmas, even though she's already engaged with another guy.
I wish they were permanent or had more time. Barely had time to play and I only manage to do some of the challenges 😩 but oh well
I didn't even see the 'talk to three plants' one 😆 i'd gone to casters alley for an angelfish but found a deathflower, so that one automatically ticked off, but i think because she's erratic she just *constantly* goes to talk to her plants. also the portait definitely moves, but i think your sim has to admire it a few times for it to happen...
I ended up playing with this sim and going all in on gardening, flower arranging, nectar making, and potion making! She's becoming a spellcaster in my save!
You have to click on the picture for it to move. Also pomegranate can be bought on the phone.
I think orchids can be bought in wedding world and the love struck world.

Just play your game for a few minutes, and then it should pop up the new tasks
If you ever need a pomegranate again you should be able to buy them from the gift menu on the phone... I typically default to gardening in my rags-to-riches playthroughs so I use that gift menu to buy pomegranates and roses instead of using the rng of the seed packets or waiting for them to be available in the world. 😊
Mine was broken until the latest patch. I've spedrun it, I think I'm on the final week now. I think it's an okay event. For a 1st event like this, I think it's generically successful. The tasks are easy, fine. Grafting is something few people do now because it's just so easy to buy the things. Hated the "Buy A Death Flower" option, ruins the fun of grafting a death flower with your own two hands.
Worst part about the event is how crazy buggy it is. Hopefully they learned a lot about events from this first try and the next one wont be so utterly broken for a month+

I'm having fun with the event but i wish it worked for everyone. My sim stubbornly decided to fix the stove while he was already dazed so he (as a ghost) and his boyfriend are now working towards bringing him back with ambrosia. Btw just in case no one else mentioned, you need to press view on the painting to see it change, it dosn't happen everytime but its cool when it changes.

Love to see that PC has a solution but console players like myself are SOL. I have tried everything including both uninstalling and reinstalling everything, as well as starting a new household.
This is frustrating and doesn’t make me want to drop $40 on an expansion pack no matter how excited I may have been for it.
I like the reaper’s rewards, but some of the tasks dissapeared for me and Idk What to do😢
The painting does move!! Your sim needs to interact with it.
Hopefully after this is all over they just add the rewards to the game automatically like they did last time since the event is so broken for so many people
I actually love the Reaper’s Event, sadly there are a LOT of bugs and I’m sick of spending hours on trying to find the reason to why only the Reaper’s Event icon shows up and the tasks don’t appear in my game :(
I’ve been playing through this event with Kyle Kyleson of all people. I don’t really know how I got to that decision but it’s been pretty fun. He has two kids now and I just aged them up from infants to toddlers after both of them got all the infant milestones. Why I did that to myself I will never know but Kyle is basically a god now and he has like $200,000 from gardening😅
5:35 If you have Horse Ranch and use MC Command Center cheat on the nectar making barrels you can get a death flower but choosing Give All Ingredients or something along those lines…
ive been playing in a tiny home with the homey trait and i have 200k simoleons and have been level 10 in skills for a WHILE. but ive been having fun keeping up every week, ive never stuck with a save this long either?? since ive just been Given a storyline/goal to follow. im excited for the last week and to see how my sim develops from that point onwards :]
I like to think the "lady mimsy portrait" is a family heirloom passed down for so many generations, and mimsy might not be part of the family but she was a very important person back in the day and the fact its burned makes me think it survived a toilet fire or something.... :P
My sim threw a dinner party and made those ghost drinks for everybody. Kind of fun to see the visitors turning ghosts! However, one sim clitched and didn't ever turn back (he hadn't actually died, I checked) so my sim had to master ambrosia a bit sooner to bring him back😄
I was just looking at the Pack bundles and why is Lovestruck NOT in the Get Dating bundle?!?! The way the Sims do things makes no sense. I also see that For Rent is 25% off…. “Here is a pack that is broken and maybe works 75% of the time, but we took 25% off the price for a limited time so you can buy it. And no we probably won’t fix it.” This game is so frustrating sometimes!
Like the actual fun part about it has been the actual storytelling challenge - especially as it let's you explore things you probably wouldn't necessarily do during average playthrough. Which makes it so much damn more annoying that it isn't just a regulad scenario that can always be accessed by people, but instead it's a scam FOMO.
