Fantastic!! I felt everything she was saying....what a diva (a voice-an actress!!)
This is a wonderful film which really shows off her acting. She really had a flare for the camera and her facial gestures are so genuine and confluent with the music and drama. Her voice expresses the light and dark tones of this scene with such mastery and ease.

Some have mentioned that they didn't understand why Anna Moffo was not as popular here during the 60's as some others like Maria Callas. It is probably because she was in other countries like Italy where she was beloved and considered to be one of the ten top most beautiful women in the world. Anna just didn't perform that much here during this most beautiful time for her voice...too bad. She was equal to or even better than most sopranos during that time. RIP dear Anna!

Anna moffo, era , una Lucia superba , non saprei altro soprano quale avrei affidato questa parte fossi stato un regista, regia splendida, fatta molto bene. A parte la bellezza, la moffo aveva una caratteristica, e in questo metterei un altro soprano meno affascinante, ma in grado di trasmettere dei sani principi lirici sia di scena che interpretativi e vocali Teresa stratas, grande traviata vera e senza fronzoli. Sarei tra l'altro stato curioso di vederla interpretare Lucia per un confronto.
She had it all looks voice and she could act. I think it's a shame she didn't do more movie versions of operas. If she had signed with a large movie company like Warner's to do a movie version of Lucia or Boheme, she would have become a bigger star then any of the other sopranos of her day.

Moffo was a great Lucia but not here. She sings coarsely here, often flat and under the note. She is much better voice on her RCA album. I remember when this film was produced. Public broadcasting turned it down.
