So famous, yet both feet firmly on the ground. Thats almost impossible! .......What a lad. Can't help thinking that the disgusting way this talented rugby player was exited from "the firm", quite possibly affected his high injury rate at Munster. Sh*t like that can have that effect. Nice to hear the praise at the very, very end for the host. 👌 Coming from such a credible source, it must mean a lot. Well deserved in any case 👍
Such a good episode. Proud that he is Samoan too, from my mum’s village. Cullen and all those players of his era will be remembered with more and more nostalgia with time - a golden era of unique transition for the sport with so much change lit up by some of the greatest stars of NZ and world rugby
Oh man can't wait to watch this episode. Be a good thing to be indulge in before the AB vs England test tomorrow morning. My all time favourite rugby player.
I grew up absolutely idolising Christian Cullen! My friends and I would all pretend to be him in backyard footy and he was a big part of my motivation to become a pro rugby player. To this day the game has never seen a better broken filed runner. In his prime CC was in a class all of his own. Watching this brought back so many memories of him just absolutely shredding the best defences in the world. This interview also highlights the wonderfully understated Kiwi culture. Cullen was one of the greatest of all time, and the guy communicates with so much humility it's almost as though he has no idea how great he was as a player.
Thanks bro! What a listen. He was my hero growing up. Although I chose to play basketball I used to think I was Christian Cullen when I played school rugby. Great guest and what an awesome podcast. Subscribed 🙌🏾
I was a big Glen Osborne fan, and Cullen came in at 96, took osborne spot, was guttered for him, I didn't like Cullen, until he started scoring shitloads of tries, man he was the truth
Cullen was without a doubt one of the best fullbacks to grace the game..he got treated very cruely by John Mitchell and to a lesser extent Robbie Deans...then John Hart...he madeup with John Hart which was an excellent thing to do. I still love watching his clips ...and now a true Kiwi family man!
@@whataladpodcast Oh thats a shame, thought he might have gone off about Mitchell and then figured he better re-record that part haha. After watching the whole session (awesome discussion btw) it seems he's not too bothered now about how it all went down, seems he has accepted and moved on. Really great session, keep it up!
