I got the same setup, stove, 2 pan's+ scour pad, mid sized gas canister and 2 cheap spork's for just under $90 and a local independent camping store, work's good, boil's quick (quicker when set up out of the wind), pack's small and HEAP's cheaper than jetboil.
As long as it's the same valve, Devis, you can use different sized canisters. This screw on connection is referred to as a 'Lindal' valve, I don't know of any of these canisters that have anything other than the isobutane required for this type of stove, so you should be fine. ~ Ben
You'd need to go for a more expensive stove to get a larger burner, Jack, something like the Jetboil MightyMo - www.snowys.com.au/mightymo-hiking-stove, or the MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe - www.snowys.com.au/pocketrocket-deluxe-stove. The pot supports are about the same size but the burner is bigger on both of these. ~ Ben
the only thing that scares me on this is that nobb its literally a bit of coat hanger wire lol that breaks ya fooked, great video thanks for the upload im stuck between nano go pro 2 or a jetboil with the black nozzles to turn gas up and down, thanks snowys love hobart
We've never heard of any issues with the wire control knob on these stoves, Tas Hiking and Camping Adventures, even if it was to break I reckon you could fashion something out of what was left to see you through your trip. I can't recommend any of the stoves you mention above, other than to say that the Furno is our best selling hiking stove and represents excellent value for money. ~ Ben
Hi, is that the 2.8 l x-pot you are using? Keen to use this for things like cooking pasta and rice if I can, would this be a good option over the provided pans?
i bought the large coolest off you guys. how do i stop it from burning when cooking? every time, after a cook, I'm spending hours cleaning the carbanacesous material from the bottom of the pots!
I assume you are referring to the pots, Luke? You want to make sure you're stirring the contents regularly paying particular attention to moving the contents at the bottom of the pot, and don't have the heat too high. Camping pots are generally pretty thin so heat is transferred to the food quickly, you just need to make some allowances for this when cooking. ~ Ben
What's that metal based blue thingo? I have been using my 360 stove (with a 220Gm butane canister adaptor to boil water at the range where I am a range officer three days a week. Used at least twice a day. Great little stove, watch your eyebrows though, it really slams out a big flame, boils water in no time flat. It has lasted twice as long as my expensive fancy JetBoil which fell apart after a year or so.
Thanks for your feedback Mick, this is a super popular and reliable stove, and it's really well priced. The blue pot with the grey base in a Sea To Summit X-Pot. They are a collapsible cooking pot that work perfectly with this type of stove. They come in various sizes, I believe we used the 2.8L version for this video, you can see them here - www.snowys.com.au/x-pot.
Thanks for comparing THE 2 products I was trying to decide between today. I think it only differentiated $35 between the Jetboil (just 1 cup + burner) and this Furno (1 big cup and 1 really small cup + burner). You still believe the Furno is a better one, if not considering the money?

We have the 2.8L X-pot so nice to see it fits it pretty ok, curious, I know the pan you had was off balance, but what about the Sea to Summit x-pan? Without the handle should balance ok I would think. Would like some eggs and maybe bacon when I am out prospecting here in Victoria.
The X-Pan will be fine as it has handles on each side making it better balanced for a small stove like this, Matthew. I reckon you'd be able to whip up some gourmet bacon and eggs in the bush with this combination. ~ Ben

I use a small-medium saute pan and it works fine - just don’t knock the burner with a pan on it. 😂

Not butane alone, Noel, I'm not sure you'd even find a butane gas bottle that will be suitable for this type of stove anyway. ~ Ben

@Delia D'Souza you'll be using standard hiking stove fuel cannisters with a lindal valve, and are an isobutane/propane mix.
