  • On June 18th, 2017, Stockton Firefighters responded to back to back working commercial structure fires. These fires occurred during a week long, triple digit heat wave. Stockton Firefighters worked quickly to contain the first blaze with minimal damages to a charitable organization. The second fire was out of control upon arrival, and a complete loss after extinguishment.
The first fire occurred at a Gospel Rescue Mission, and Stockton Firefighters were able to make a quick stop in order to save much of the charitable organizations donations and financial files. Firefighters were still on scene (working in hundred degree heat) when a second, working commercial structure fire occurred several blocks away. Many fire crews cleared to head to the second structure fire.
    Watch the first fire here:
    • Back To Back Commercia...
Upon arrival to the second structure fire, Firefighters found an abandoned train station fully involved with fire through the roof. While deploying defensive operations, truck crews opened exterior doors and rescued two victims from the fire. Fire crews remained on scene for hours in order to ensure that the blaze was fully extinguished.

Dave Toussaint This is a shame. So many old stations have burned because of the acts of "transients".

Always sad to see a piece of history go, but the Stockton Fire Department did a great job. I just wish more of the building had survived. Great job guys!

My concern is that he’s a reporter, but still films vertically and not horizontally.

This city is very lucky to have this fire department. Too bad looks set to me. I wish all of the fire departments in this
      Country would
write on the bottom of their videos like you do. Then maybe people would understand what they have to do, and not badmouth
Or slam them. You seem very organized & we love to watch you. Thank you

Nice job saving the first commercial building, unfortunate about the second. Was the second fire arson?

Matt B: I am pretty sure that both fires were arson. One of the arsonist tactics is to light a fire and then use that fire to mask a second fire nearby.

any questions that the two fires were related? 1st fire was arson and the 2nd, two people were rescued... possibly the arsonists?

How sad, obviously set. We have seen fires all over the USA & this fire department is marvelous. I give kudos to all firemen
Everywhere. But I think if all the other departments would tell what & why their doing like this city does, people wouldn’t be
So critical & such slammers. I have never seen so many fires in this size of a city. You need to be proud of this fire dept.

I want to know what charges they're facing. Destroying historic public property with no consequences is just not acceptable. So SFD, any word on evidence collection? DA going to prosecute? Any word from UPRR on what they want to do? I know it's been over a year, any status updates? Thnx.
