- A music video created for Iron Maiden's song "Aces High". The footage used is from the 1969 film "Battle of Britain". Made to tribute the airmen of all nations who fought and died in the Battle of Britain.

What I've learned, U Brits didn't give in. What a fighting spirit they showed. Besides that, all the training the Brits gave Norwegians, how England supported Norway to fight the Nazis.

Wow this was GGRREAT!!!! This was exactly what I would see in my head as I'd listen to this when I was a kid laying on my bed & staring up at my Aces High poster on the ceiling. This was always one of my favorite MAIDEN songs! This video just makes it better!!!

Battle of Britain is a fantastic film
The Germans Luftwaffe did not expect the British RAF to put up so fierce an aerial fight and were left to retreat back to Germany shocked and wounded
Apparently Göring asked Hitler for a squadron of spitfires. I can only imagine the response 😂
Not taking anything away from the brave and smart men who fought so hard, but germans basically destroyed raf and when they finally did it, Hitler ordered London to be bombed because Berlin was scratched. So while germans were bussy destroying civilian buildings raf stayed silent for a week or two and then they destroyed the Luftwaffe.

The British RAF vs Hitler's Luftwaffe! What a TITANIC air battle was the Battle of Brittain! RAF Supermarine Spitfires vs German Me-109's and FW-190's. RAF Fighter Command was almost depleted of aircraft by the time they drove the Luftwaffe back across the English Channel as well as shot down those German Heinkel-193 bombers
Wrong no Fw190's were in the Battle of Britain, a year away from it's service debut August 1941. The bombers were Heinkel He-111 not 193's. Also the Battle of Britain RAF Hurricane and Spitfire were the main fighters (more Hurricanes that Spitfires) , (a few Gladiators, Defiant's and Blenheim's were at hand) The German fighters were Me109(bf109) and Me110 twin engine fighter) Bombers were He111 P/H, Do17z, Ju88A, Ju87B Stuka. In all, the RAF lost 1,547 airplanes(some sources say 1,744) -1,023 from Fighter Command, 376 from Bomber Command, and 148 from Coastal Command. RAF Bomber Command and Coastal command are most often forgotten during this period but they played a vital role. German losses were even higher-a total of 1,887, (some sources say 1,977) of which 650 were Bf 109s and 223 were Bf 110s. More than half of the German aircraft destroyed were shot down by Hurricanes. Aircraft losses for RAF and Luftwaffe totals include such varied types for example the He-59, Whitley etc.( seaplanes and bombers.) So you can see aircraft losses were close, the main serious loss for the Luftwaffe was crewman particularly from the bombers. As the battle wore on and change of strategy targets for the Luftwaffe change a vital mistake IE. from airfields to London, etc.example the Luftwaffe had little chance to achieve it's goal of air superiority . Also British replacements of aircraft and production was better at the time than the Germans. It wasn't just British pilots, Commonwealth, Poles etc. pilots but also don't forget the anti aircraft gunners doing their bit as well as the civilians population loss. The task for the Luftwaffe was air superiority something which is extremely hard to achieve considering it was a tactical air arm given all factors.

After the war there weren't many Messerschmits left to film a movie with... they had to make do with the Buchon.
