i had this problem yesterday logitech removed the sticker and made it 3 screws now you gotta pull carefully up (with a bit of force) because the inner speaker cable was sevearly shortened
I have an older model with the sticker hidden screw and even that felt anti-consumer repair as heck, your newer model sounds worse again, I paid $180 AUD for my headset, I damn well want to be able to repair it for free when it is out of warranty. BTW the cable for the older model is pseudo braided internally and it frays very easily, that's why I'm even here, was trying to replace the cable as a whole 15cm of the meter was damaged from just being rubbed or pressed against things
@@Rexhunterj not really its more pro consumer since the screws arnt hidden...i mean its annoying that the cable is shortened but its probably to cut cost but its now easier to open
thanks legend I drilled a small hole into the plastic above the screw so I can tighten it without dismantling it again, probably not recommended if yours is still in warranty.
Thanks for this, managed to get it fixed without breaking anything. The clips are really annoying to get out. I got it by pushing a flat screwdriver between the clip (the taller part) and the blocker piece (the lower part) once they separated you just push them a little and then you can pull it apart. CAREFUL though, the cable for the speaker is REALLY short.
And i just fixed the right ear cup wire, it got cut over time with the little rotation movement it can do on itself. The other day i also replaced the full jack wire (8$ on aliexpress) now i still have to fix the mic, i will try tomorrow but i guess again it's broken wire (i hope not inside the caoutchouc of the mic arm). There are many point of failure in this headset, as if logitech didn't want you to use it for more than 2 years before having to buy a new one.
Unfortunately, I couldn't remove the 4 clips, no matter how much force I applied. So I managed to tighten the screw connected to the nut using pliers. Now it works much better.
I accidentally broke two of the upper orange and red cable, what would you suggest to do? Maybe welding them back on? UPDATE: I just did the reparing to the cables by welding, and it worked well, I'll let you know if it will last long
If you have the right tools and experience then that would be an option you could try yes. Otherwise you risk doing more damage than good I'm afraid. On the other hand, warranty is already voided, headset is broken, if you cant get help but do have the tools, why not give it a try :-) and don't forget, google is your friend. Work safe!
I don't have that information sorry... Isn't it possible to use a multi-meter to measure what cable goes where? Should be possible to find it out that way unless the cable is broken very near the jack plug. The polarities are also indicated on the circuit board in the ear piece (See 2:36 in the video) Also check this website for information about jack plugs: mynewmicrophone.com/how-do-headphone-jacks-and-plugs-work-wiring-diagrams/ Hope this helps replacing the cable :-)

Those clips are very stiff and can indeed break when bent too much.... You'll have to put a little pressure on one half of the cup in the direction of opening it, and at the same time very carefully trying to unlock the clips one by one, without letting them lock back. As you've seen it's possible, but i never said it was easy ;-) I hope you can still fix it!
@@kingGhobra I was afraid both times, so I didn't try it, even though, generally speaking, I'm pretty handy. However, the cables are very short, and I'm worried I might accidentally cut them.
@@Xtacy856x I got a great deal 10 euros picked them up, only "minor" thing was the loose mic arm, other than that mic and headset worked perfectly. Stumbled upon this video and did what the person did in the video, the clips will not come off, either you break the clips or you break the short cable, i ended up breaking the cable and broke the headset in half and threw it away. i have a problem, in 3:05 i did the same clips thing, all 4 of them but the other piece didn't came off, only one clip did a click (bottom right one) and the others are out but the whole piece is still in place and i can't take it out, is there something else i have to know about the clips or any details about them? i saw a comment talking about a bottom and a top part of the clip and a top one but idk if the clip's important part is just the "top part" (the one that looks like a hook) and the "bottom part" is a part of the plastic or the "top" and "bottom" parts are like a separated clip as a whole, my point is i dont want to break the clips if the "bottom part" is a part of the plastic in resume 5:25 didn't happen at all
What can happen is that a previously "unclipped" clip locks back again when working on the next clip. Maybe it can help to pry something between the 2 parts after loosening a clip so it cant lock back. Every clip can only be pushed in one direction to unhook, and not too much or it could break.... Hope you'll succeed!
Probably the easiest fix, is once you remove the sticker. Is to then put that sticker where you had the white paper so it stiffens the arm... reassemble and enjoy.
