Yaaaaaay! A fish breeding project! Congrats on getting this going after all the moving and changes, thats so much hard work. Also, loved the little fish graphics! So cute!
Great video! I have been breeding betta fish for years now, and it's always so much fun watching them breed, lay eggs and then of course raising the fry up! But i can't wait to see these tancho fry grow up! Keep us updated!
Well, as of this comment it's been 3 months since this video released. So hopefully by now the babies will have started to get some color! Looking forward to updates on this, I think you've got a shot and I think having reliable lines of tanchos that breed true produced by a responsible breeder like you would be a massive blessing for the hobby.
Oh boy has this given me the spawning bug again 🥺 I miss this so much! I let my cultures all go because I haven’t attempted spawning since lockdown! This feeling is so infectious hahahaha I realllly missed these style videos from you 🥰
aww man, I miss my bettas. Unfortunately this past year we had to make a sudden move (our landlord sold our house out from under us) which required me to get rid of all of my tanks except one. So, I had to put all of my betta breeding on hold until we can purchase our own home with the space to continue my breeding projects. My last tank is a 30 gallon tub filled with plecos, platy's, and coryadoras that I couldn't bear to part with. Betta's are so full of personality and intelligence, I really miss them. Thank you for sharing yours with me for the time being!
I'm excited for your project! And your reference to snails brought back fond memories of old videos of your journey to snail appreciation. Love to you and yours this season!
I don't envy you with this. I've had Betta with this marking before and they eventually change colour to a completely solid red over time. An interesting project.
I love all the room you give your "jar" betta fish! I hope you get some tancho bettas! Interested in hearing what happened to the plumbing plan. And can we sneak a peek at your api api? Merry Christmas to you and yours!
UGH -- so happy you're breeding bettas again (and a little jealous, too) -- I love the whole process, especially when you get viable fry at the end. Can't wait to see more about what colors pop out of this line! Thanks for sharing!!!
Congratulations on the fish room I like how detailed you are thanks for all the amazing information . I am in the middle of setting up my fish room after 25 years of not having fish. Il
partway thru but already loving this. koi, tancho, and marbles are some of my favorites. and tancho i like because of my obsession with koi.......... which came from my obsession with ONE fish, my fav out of a pond at a japanese garden in s FL. what kind? you guessed it. white fish, red dot on head. it was like a unicorn. 🤣😁 currently at this house, it came with a pond (I NOW HAVE KOI!!!) and there is a white on that is tancho-ish. has a few more red spots but close enough to make me happy. you know what they say about 1st world problems.... i have pond-world problems. whole new level of filtration, algae, etc etc etc. still working that out. oi.
Nice video Taylor 👊. Spawning marbles always is exciting as the coloration of the offspring will be unpredictable. Looking forward to see how the fry will develop and if any 'tancho' patterns will appear. Good luck raising the fry and please keep us posted 💪. Kind regards from the Netherlands.
Gosh Taylor you post the best learning videos and I for one hope you got all your domestic and family situations together. Cause I for one missed you a lot, I mean a Lot. Tancho bettas are beautiful, well I think. But am still after Api Api. Thank you
Your videos are so refreshing and inspiring! I’m currently setting up a spawning system for egg scattering fish. I have 5 10g tanks all planted and seasoned with a 15g and 20g long ready for grow out. My first batch of CPD fry are finally big enough for BBS! Yay! Also, I had been having a huge issue with a thermometer solution since I can’t heat the room (it’s also my office). I saw your awesome infrared gun in this video and paused the video to go order one! Thanks Taylor! Lol
About the separating part. If you're actually in the groove and used to it, you'd actually enjoy the process (this is for those who are curious). I myself get lost in the process and before i know it its night, but i enjoy it nonetheless
Love this video Taylor! I am fascinated by the idea of beta breeding. Those Tanchos remind me of my first ever tank when I was 14 (many years ago..). I had 2 red cap gold fish (single tail) in that 30 gallon tank, they were beautiful!. I had them for so many years. I don't seem to see single-tailed red caps these days. It will be great if you get a Tancho genetic line! I had no idea that this coloration existed in betas!
The pattern looks good for Red Cap Orandas. It's not bad for a Betta, but I love Opaque White Bettas, though I don't see any awesome males. Have no trouble finding females. Thank you for your video. I like it (yes, the Tanchos look cute) Wishing you, your family and your viewers a very Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays. May the year be happy and healthy for all. 🎅🎄🎅🎄🤗
specially the last part as maintenance is so true im small betta breeder hobbist and breed bettas i think for over 5 years now. and still doing it with hand ( bucket ) ect...
I'm guessing you know quite a bit better than me, as I've only done 3 spawns. But my first 2 males that I bred ate most of the eggs. The last spawn was perfect, not an egg eaten. What I did differently was to just leave on a light for him constantly. I just moved the light on top of the tank so that it just covers a small corner (opposite to the eggs) to give him a really dim light over night. It seemed to work. I don't have sunrise/sunset lights so I think the light going off spooked them and they ate them in some kind of weird fish panic.
Her: Tanchos aren't the most colorful of fish... Me: OMG THOSE IS THE CUTEST WATERPUPPIES I HAVE EVER SEEN! Oh I like your jar method, less expensive than the other method I was planning for with breeding my own bettas. Would a stock tub also work as a grow out tank?
Hey - did you make an part2 or something?...I was really interested in that project - because I love Betta's and love the tancho-colour from Koi. Did the breeding failed or do you sell them? Please let us know!❤😊
Do Tancho Bettas change color? I currently have one in quarantine and I've noticed that it's starting to develop dark areas in some parts of its body, as if it had a marble gene, but it doesn't have completely black eyes. I thought marble Bettas only had black eyes?
2:36 I think it's hard to control when the parents is multi color but in some rare case just like mine i have fancy copper pair and they spawn 2 tancho offspring
Can you please include footage of how you scoop the female back out without disturbing the eggs? My first breeding container was more tall than long and it was very difficult and I ended up completely disturbing the nest and the male ended up eating all the eggs
I'm so sad...I wanted to breed a female tancho from my friend to my male tancho...my friend unfortunately sent the female tancho to a different address in a different state.
Very cool coloration in the parents. Looking forward to seeing the auto water change system when it’s done!
Hi! Thank you, I can't wait to be done with it! ^^

This is……
Strangely wholesome! Way to go Penny from another universe! :)
Okay seeing the pair do their spawning behavior like that was VERY cool!

Love you koi fish graphics! They are kind of cool. ❤
Hey thanks, I doodled them! You're the first one to mention them
@@SimplyBetta my pleasure! Yeah, I knew it take considerable efforts on your editing table. But great to keep the viewers engaged. ❤️👍

I like it when you are respectful enough in giving the bettas privacy so they can perform coitus in peace❤️ Just like us hoomans👍
This was such a great breeding video, id love to see many more. I could watch it 100 times more and not get bored
I really admire your patience and perseverance!
Congratulations on the fish room I like how detailed you are thanks for all the amazing information . I am in the middle of setting up my fish room after 25 years of not having fish. Il
Thank you, I appreciate it! Best of luck with your own new fish room!
Merry Christmas! And good luck on the breeding! I would love one of the tancho babies when they are available I know they will sell out quick!

Thanks :) So far no sign of any "tancho" markings, but I will backcross and also try some sibling pairs once they mature. I'll keep everyone posted :D
Merry Xmas and happy new year TayTay! Lots loves from australia ❤️❤️❤️
love the new Tancho project!!! Wishing you and your family all the best this holiday and in the new year.

Ooo congratz on the CPD fry! You'll love that temp gun, it sure saves a lot of time versus regular thermometers :)
OMG I just noticed the play button on the wall!!!! Congrats!!!!
Lovely to see you with bettas again. Merry Christmas ❤️🇦🇺
I love your entertaining and creative videos Taylor! You are fun to watch! Love the projects you choose! ❤️ Merry Christmas 🎅

can't wait to see an update on the fry growouts and the new system : )
Would love to see an update on this project ❤🤍 love these lil guys
Update vid soon :)
Hi Taylor!! I've been waiting for an update on this hahahaha
Noooo why did I have to find this so fast! I was hoping this was posted a while ago so I can have instant update videos 🤣
I would love to see more fish. Sooo cute
Love this! Beautiful fish & as always your videos are fun to watch!!!👍👍
The pattern looks good for Red Cap Orandas. It's not bad for a Betta, but I love Opaque White Bettas, though I don't see any awesome males. Have no trouble finding females. Thank you for your video. Betta fish or Shuffling, I'm good with both :)
I need a Tancho Betta! Thanks for always sharing your knowledge.
So glad to see you back to spawning betta...💖
Can you recommend a good seller? Thanks
Great job , Happy Hollidays
You need a quote gone fishing“ decoration sign in there. That way they think that they’re alone and think that they have more privacy. 😉😉
Tyler great video, two words for you Api Api, Merry Christmas. Thank you from NYC
Can we please all agree to call them Ed Sheeran bettas?
I read it as techno betta and was like "ooooh
Where did you get the jars? Cant wait to see how this project turns out.
Oh… gosh. I ordered a few cases of these jars from “priority plastics” back forever ago
I hope someone creates or discovers a species of betta fish that can be kept in pairs long term.
That would be so cool.
specially the last part as maintenance is so true im small betta breeder hobbist and breed bettas i think for over 5 years now. and still doing it with hand ( bucket ) ect...
That was very interesting and with 2 young children thats alot of work
I like watching how other breed their betta. That tancho spot will be hard to replicate. The marble betta is so unpredictable.
How do you age water and why? I love your videos and fishroom. I’ve learned a lot from you. Thank you
Would love an update on this Ms. Taylor. Thank you
I have to ask... do you greet the delivery person with "SALUTATIONS!"
Sorry... I'll go now... hope the new projects go well. Penny for the win 🏆
Thank you for making your videos! I am now subscribed. I want to breed Bettas in the future (bucket list 🐟💙)
Do you ever experiment with cold water changes or open windows during storms to simulate the wet season?
I'm guessing you know quite a bit better than me, as I've only done 3 spawns. But my first 2 males that I bred ate most of the eggs. The last spawn was perfect, not an egg eaten. Oh I like your jar method, less expensive than the other method I was planning for with breeding my own bettas. Would a stock tub also work as a grow out tank?
I love the project videos
So fun, this is like a Betta bordello 🤣
Incredible video!
How do you distinguish between male and female betta?
Do you feed the dad or both of them during spawning and while he's raising them? If you do, how often?
Can't wait for you auto water system! Are you planning on pumping water from your garbage can of aged water into them?
What does aging your water mean? Glad to see another breeding video. I always miss when you put fish up for sale.
Leaving it out or just stagnating it to make sure some of the concentrated metals are evaporated or at the least not that concentrated
Love From Cambodia Like Betta
6:14 When a fish is luckier than I am with human females 🤣😭🤣
Big question for the betta queen! Do you ever plan for simply betta to go into keeping other fish keeping? Or even other exotic animals?
I'd like to know, if it's possible to breed a non aggressive Betta? One that'd be docile w/,other Bettas.
Love from srilanka 🇱🇰
Finalllyyyyy!
Hey - did you make an part2 or something?...I was really interested in that project - because I love Betta's and love the tancho-colour from Koi. Did the breeding failed or do you sell them? Please let us know!❤😊
I like betta fish, becouse breeding betta fish too
How did it go?
Did your tanchos change color
Do Tancho Bettas change color? I currently have one in quarantine and I've noticed that it's starting to develop dark areas in some parts of its body, as if it had a marble gene, but it doesn't have completely black eyes. I thought marble Bettas only had black eyes?
Where do you get the plastic jars?
Awesome fish room tho!
What do you do with fish that are deformed or don't meet standards for breeding selection? Do you sell them as pets or do you cull or a mix of both?
2:36 I think it's hard to control when the parents is multi color but in some rare case just like mine i have fancy copper pair and they spawn 2 tancho offspring
How's the spawn going?
👍
HI, new to your channel just want to know what happened to this tancho breed?
Can you please include footage of how you scoop the female back out without disturbing the eggs? My first breeding container was more tall than long and it was very difficult and I ended up completely disturbing the nest and the male ended up eating all the eggs
tbh there is only so much verity you can have spawn to spawn .. i support the idea
of you being more than just betta. .. i want your best.
Wow I'm hook. They are beautiful.
Any updates? Did they spawn?
I'd like to have one of those.
What beautiful fish!b
What do you do with the other fish that you don’t jar?
awesome video
Asking before the video ends…will these be for sale at all?
still missing the copper spawn
PLEASE PLEASE restart the copper line
what kind of betta😊😊❤❤❤
I'm so sad...I wanted to breed a female tancho from my friend to my male tancho...my friend unfortunately sent the female tancho to a different address in a different state.
Rip
Oh well
Lets see my breeding bettas fish
do you sell these?
I thought it said "Breeding techno bettas" 🤣🤣🤣
Nice video
Mantap ikan cupang nya, semangatt terus salam cupang dari indonesia 🙏😁

A tancho halfmoon Betta or tancho viltail Betta be cool
