If you haven’t listened to the first season of the podcast Dr. Death yet, I *highly* recommend it and watching the show on Peacock afterwards because it is *chef’s kiss*. As for Apple TV, I love Ted Lasso and I think you would enjoy it’s wholesomeness! I’ve heard good things about Dr. Brain, another Korean thriller, on Apple TV also so maybe check it out? Midnight Mass wrecked me! Every storyline had depth, and Joe Collie’s story in particular broke my heart. What superb acting all around. No surprise Flanagan repeatedly draws from this troupe of actors for all of his Netflix shows and movies. Of course, he’s lucky to be married to an amazing actor and I’ve been impressed with them as a team since Hush. But Gabby, how do you even have time to work, maintain a social life, read as many books as you do, create UA-cam content, AND fit in TV/movie viewing too??!! Do you sleep?😆

Just to clarify, only because I feel like this is a VERY significant theme addressed in the show THEM... In THEM, they are the first black family to move to Compton in Los Angeles (not a small town) and shows the history of predatory and discriminatory housing issues black people faced during that time (and let's be honest, still face). It's an education on "redlining" and the overtly racist laws to keep black people segregated and keep them out of white neighborhoods. Which is something we don't often think of happening in Los Angeles but Yes it was happening there too. Racism happens in very "liberal" places too. It also focused on the predatory housing loans with extremely high interest rates that locked black people into a lifetime of debt just to become a homeowner. The show covers ALOT of these issues which is why I was like uh oh it's definitely not just some small town when you said that, it's a big Los Angeles city. But maybe that's why you thought it was a small town because of the racism they faced moving there, which is a very interesting thing to think about . Like most of us think these things can only happen in the middle of nowhere and not in a place like Los Angeles. Just interesting to think about. Anyway, I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, just trying to shed some light and knowledge if maybe that part of the show didn't make sense to you. The show is definitely worth a watch, even tho is it very hard to watch. It's an excellent education.
I thought Maid was absolutely brilliant. It was such an emotional watch. And the social commentary is excellent. I really enjoyed Midnight Mass. Think it's the best of its genre that I've ever seen. I enjoyed You. Didn't think it was quite as good as the second season though. Definitely want to watch WandaVision this year. Really enjoyed hearing you gush about all these TV shows, Gabby! ☺

Mike Flanagan has outdone himself with this. I then started You and despite the motivation to push through the first season its a slowburn which I can't tolerate. But nice recc list!

I recommend you to watch "The Great" with Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, but only if you liked the movie "The favorite" cause it's from the same writers. Also the limited series "Dr Death" with Joshua Jackson was so good and pretty creepy. And "Ted Lasso", my favorite comedy of the year
I just downloaded Farmville 3, I think that I and my grandkids will love this game. My daughter and I loved Clickbate, we both were a bit disappointed with the ending. I have The Maid on my TBW list. Squid Game is very good. Thanks for your reviews.
I freaking LOVED Wanda vision🦸🏻♀️❤️ this is us just can’t cope and Loki was great. Also this was also the year I discovered Schitts Creek and ew why did it take me so long and just wish that I could re watch it all over again and re experience my initial joy. I have since re watched it many many MANY times🤣💗 and yes I love Loves character in You. She’s so talented. I loved her performance in the haunting of Bly manor and other projects she’s done and that intimate interview she did with I think it was glamour or something. Any one else get the vibe that she could potentially come back but I think that’s just me and my wishful thinking 💔

My favorite show I watched this year is Damages. It's about a young attorney who gets hired to work for determined and ruthless attorney named Patty Hewes. The story and characters are well written and the suspense is really good EDIT: I don't really care to watch Them. I heard it was Black trauma porn so I just watched spoiler reviews cause I would rather not watch it
I liked cruel summer until like about episode 7-8 then it felt a little long and drawn out/ didn’t feel like the reveals were great! I wanted something more!
The Flight Attendant on HBO Max is good Have you seen it? The White Lotus was enjoyable. Firefly Lane is soo good. Schitt's Creek is a Def favorite! I am still watching Only Murders in the Building. I have only seen the first season of You. I was unsure about continuing, but after hearing that it gets better I may continue watching it. If you have AppleTV+, you may like The Morning Show.

You should watch Jared Padalecki's Walker because season 1 was the best! Maybe a little rough, the story for show this season, Walker's wife gets shot and he's trying to the person who killed his wife. Season 2 is even better, but I don't want to spoil it for you, go watch!

Get Shorty which originally aired on EPIX for three seasons is great too. Squid Game, White Lotus, and Succession are my favorites.

really enjoyed Cruel Summer and Squid Game. My fave has to be Chucky, an amazing horror show with great messed up characters, so much fun.
