You know when every once in awhile, you stumble across a new band or artist that you’ve never heard of before, and you experience that moment where something about the music just instantly stops you in your tracks? You know what I’m talking about... you freeze on the spot, your ears perk up, and you just instinctually know deep inside that you just discovered something really, really fucking special?
Well it’s been awhile since I’ve experienced this phenomenon, until I randomly discovered Pallbearer a few weeks ago. And OH MY GOD, you guys are absolutely amazing! I’m still very new to the music and working my way through your discography, but I’m just completely blown away by everything I’ve heard so far.
Not to be a pompous ass here, but I feel like my opinion carries a little extra weight too, because I don’t listen to a lot of metal and certainly would be laughed out of the room if I described myself as a metal fan haha. But Pallbearer just speaks to me and touches something inside me that transcends genres.
I just LOVE the sound so much - it’s very heavy, dark, full of despair and anguish at times, yet theres so much beauty tangled up in there too. The guitar playing in particular is top notch with so many beautiful, melodic riffs that get stuck in my head for days on end, and the vocals and lyrics are also spectacular and poetic. It feels like your songs are very carefully constructed, so that all that emotion gets poured into every little lick and every single lyric sung.
You guys really are something special. 😊
had the same experience, spent about a month listening to nothing but pallbearer and still listen to them all the time
Pompous ass
Good stuff. Thanks for the rundown!
It was bad real crap be honest.
Looks like another Miley Cyrus fan has been triggered. Somebody needs to get out of mommy's basement a little more often.
as a standalone sound, his tone seems very off. but if you listen to it in context of a pallbearer songs, it works. a lot of bedroom guitar players don't realize, that their perfect, hi-fi, fully dialed in tone that satifies their ears just playing to themselves at home wouldn't work on a fully mixed record with bass, drums and in devin's case, also another guitar.
No. You can so obviously hear that this is DI tone, no poweramp or cab sim. In a mix it will still sound bad
@@drummachine5787 that is why i mentioned "fully mixed". no one takes a DI track, slaps distortion on it and calls it a day. also, no one records a distorted DI track.
You do realize this isn't his normal tone AT ALL right? He's not taking this and mixing it in any way. He's going to run through an amp and mic the cab when recording or playing live. This is purely just something for demonstration. It would sound terrible in a mix and very very different when you throw an actual IR on it.
The cork sniffing is real in this comment section. Pallbearer is awesome.
That would have to be the worst sounding guitar and amp since 1949 when they were still trying to work out how PUP's worked
@@Neil-Aspinall ok
I wonder if the guy who plays guitar in Pallbearer, a dude who gets to travel the world playing his music to fans who love it, ever goes on youtube and gets upset by nobodies dissing him. Oh no, that's right, definitely no.
Haven't seen that happen anywhere.
Love this band. Hope for more riff breakdowns from them.
Can someone tab this
That double A is gnarly. I love it!!
This riff is insane. Love it 🤘
That riff is literally a rundown. Just keeps getting lower
To the depths of hell
pallbearer forever
Can I get a rundown for the end of CALEDONIA?!
can you play gloomy sunday?
righteous
Obviously, he forgot to turn on the IR cabinet. Shit happens guys. Focus on the riffs, man..
No I think he likes that noise?
Pallbearer is a doom/stoner metal band sooo....
It does kinda sound like that honestly.
🤘🏽🤘🏽
This makes me want to play guitar lol
You're joking surely?
@@Neil-Aspinall no not at all
First riff has Crowbar vibes.
Fuzz for days
Haha that tone is absolutely disgusting and fucking awesome at the same time
Morbid Angel sounding
Dangus...I can't even play this without getting a thicc guitar
Not true, my Les Paul is in drop A.
Same tone my line 6 pod makes after the house was struck by lightning!
if only dat guitar was a double cut
Well this is easy enough, good stuff.
Yeah...🤘🙄
Is that a meatloaf shirt? Lol
smellyjerk no, Travis Tritt
It's whatever shirt you want it to be baby.
It's Travis Tritt.
This sound like my 15 years old Digitech Rp50. Its that some new thing in guitar ?!
LOL im joking;)
Why does the guitar sound so bad, all fizz?
lol
@@whiskeycan529 So are you telling me that's how it's supposed to sound?
@@Neil-Aspinall yea that’s pretty much the whole point, there a doom metal band fuzzy sound is one of the biggest parts of that sub genre
@@Dilltron Christ it is rotten.
@@Neil-Aspinall I think it sounds good but that’s just me
Stupid sounding fuzzy guitar but the T shirt was OK?
🤮 Terrible dude
What band are you in? How many albums do you have? Are you a touring musician?
@@doughankins3996 What's that got to do with people's poor tastes Douglas?
