    I'm still buying sealed cases for the popular releases. But, I think the main thing I've realized is I don't even have to bother with pre-ordering anymore. Just wait until the actual release comes out and I can still pick up the cases I want at the pre-order price, if not cheaper, even for the most popular releases.

    • @audrisampson
      @audrisampson Рік тому +2

      Yeah buying after release during the dip is a good way to maximize profit. Not something people had a chance of doing in the past when sets sold out in the first weekend.

      it is a nice plan unless people stop over ordering. that is a good lesson to learn from this.

    One thing interesting to me is that the cases in general fared much better. I wonder how many buyers are concerned about dead boxes vs. how many people just heard Alpha Investments say "buy cases" and that's what they did. I hate to say it, but the guy creates markets. Nobody would give a crap about or even know about Sorcery if he hadn't come out behind it. One of the cautions that I would give people who want to wait until case prices drop before buying every set is that sellers will stop buying them if it means selling at a loss. Meaning fewer cases are preordered and produced. So either A. Those cases will go way up in price/value immediately, or B. The market will contract.

    • @BigBAnimeTCG
      @BigBAnimeTCG  Рік тому

      100% on the after release cases. rght now that seems like a strategy but eventually it should not work as seller cut back on orders.
      when it comes to boxes vs cases, it really is how much spending power people have and the willingness to gamble.

    Market is probably saturated. A lot of TCG’s ramped up their releases in response to the pandemic boom. I could probably make the case for a long term hold, but as someone who has been holding onto RWBY, I can tell you it may take quite a while for the market to absorb all the product. If the IP expires before the excess product gets absorbed, it could be a bad position to be in. And fun video btw, enjoyed that.

    • @BigBAnimeTCG
      @BigBAnimeTCG  Рік тому

      the english exclusives have been the most oversaturated. they pull in such a vast amount of new people that the supply is pretty amazing. avatar seems to be the biggest. rwby did well but as u have saw just not enough since this was during the boom period.

    I'm still fairly new, only being into Weiss since 2020, but even then it was pretty clear it wasn't a good idea to invest in anything modern considering everyone had the same idea as far as that's concerned. However I am happy at how cheap (for the most part) singles are!

    I’m quite new to this and was wondering is you think it’s okay to buy into the EN cards if I’m not particularly looking for investment? I love the idea of Weiss Schwarz with cards of series that I love and maybe so the game behind it. Though was wondering if buying JP is still worth more than EN? Or would it be okay to keep going with EN just to have some quirky cards?

    • @BigBAnimeTCG
      @BigBAnimeTCG  Рік тому +2

      depends on what kind of cards you are buying. the general thing we see is the higher rarity cards are more expensive than the jp ones. there are always exceptions but u can always check jp prices and availability compared to english.
      some people like getting jp since it is cheaper in price. the best part of collections is there are no wrong answers. if u like the jp cards for a collection, go for it. they may sell lower in price and resale may be harder but if u never plan to sell it doesn't matter then.
      the base rarity cards may be more expensive or less depending on set. if u play want to play and the store only allows eng then it would be better to get eng.
      if u have more details or questions to add on feel free.

    It's an odd one (I did watch the whole video lol) I still think investing is weiss schwarz is tricky and fairly ineffective when compared to other tcgs. With that said why do I continue to do so? Well because I love the shows and I love the cards. I've always had a similar mindset to you in the sense that super worst case situation, if it's worthless in 10 years then I get to open a sealed case of something that quite likely could be pretty rare and enjoy it all over again. I don't invest in Weiss sealed in the traditional way of investing. I don't really see the money as XXX value, I see as spent. I have this sealed item, maybe it will be worth more down the line, maybe it won't. Maybe one day I'll decide to open maybe I will never open it. While the item is still sealed the options are always there. Maybe the cards and playsets go up for that set down the line. Anything could happen!

    • @BigBAnimeTCG
      @BigBAnimeTCG  Рік тому +1

      i just saw some comments didnt appear in my feed or not replied to. this one actually got filtered since you wrote xxx.
      weiss schwarz has always been different due to the ips involved. pokemon is just pokemon and until recently for the most part mtg has been mtg.
      it has been an ok investment as long as the person considered the ip vs blindly buying all the 2023 sets and attempting to sell them. part of the point of the video was the terrible sets we got this year from a IP and meta strength viewpoint.
      we all make our purchases differently. i know you see the money as spent and you are just generalizing without saying price points and quantities. using the generics provided, i dont think you would call what you are doing investing. to me i would say a collector who is willing to sell if the opportunity presents itself. investing to me is making educated purchases at specific price points and quantities with a clear sense of potential growth and exit strategies. i think weiss still has that ability. i think people havent quite thought it completely through.

      @@BigBAnimeTCG I'll be opening the boxing so low prices are good in my favor. To have fun opening packs and collecting is what I find enjoyable in some products, some stuff I like holding on to sealed for later and some things I like to just open for the enjoyment. Like pokemon stuff I like to keep sealed depending on the products cause they can hold there vaule over time the weiss is hard to find not everyone can get there hands on it easily and I don't like the whole I'll by a case find the ssr and sell the rest of the boxs cause you found your 1000 dollar card it's not random there set up like that, and that screws up the market and people trusting to buy products in my opinion online. Its all fucked up and not random like other tcg products for the most part and unfair to the people who cNt afford 1000 bucks . People buy a case and know I'll probably find that signature card and sell rest of boxs that are trash. Don't like it. They need to find better way I think when it comes to it as well. 🤷‍♂️ either way I'd rather buy low and open them it's not for long term enless it's a good gross selling anime. weiss has the dead box problem and it has been "known" for awhile. i only ever started doing my videos with this being one of my main focuses. every time i did talk about changing it, i was met with people wouldnt want that cause they want the guaranteed rates. if brought up again, u will still see people saying that. really the only hope u have is actually just trusting people or if it is old enough, not thinking it is something to open. sadly until enough people complain about it, this wont change.
