Petula Clark was always one of my favorite singers. Saw her perform live in Toronto Canada back in '69. I like that sexy dress she's wearing---all back at the time.
They don’t call her the First Lady of the British invasion for nothing. A real gold standard of singers. And I have met her personally one of the nicest people to her fans ever.
Had the extreme pleasure of meeting her on 2 occasions. Very kind and spent a lot of time talking with me. Been a real fan since buying my first record, which was Downtown.
Love Her Voice. Beautiful Physique. Favourite Performance of hers is Finian's Rainbow. Happy Glad to add as of this upload Sharon is still with us today at age of Ninety-Two Years Young. 😊☺️😊😊😊🫶💐🧸
Ela é fantástica cantando canções maravilhosas z Comecei a ficar fã dela C/ This is May Song Trilha do filme A Condessa de Hong Kong de 69 Ela tbm tem outros sucessos belíssimos E a voz fantástica

My sister was Ed Sullivan's personal secretary and she got an autographed photo of Petula during her heyday. Also the Beatles and The Animals. No kidding!
This must have been sung on the same Ed Sullivan show as the Fool on the Hill was sung! Same dress anyway! The Fool on the Hill in my opinion is her best performance on American TV!
How are you doing now and MAY GOD KEEP BLESSED YOU ALWAYS AND BE HAPPY ✨️ ❤️ 🙏 🙌 😇 😊 ALWAYS. AND MAY NAME IS ANTHONY MARVELLI AND I LIVE IN FLORENCE MISSISSIPPI. AND MAY GOD KEEP BLESSED YOU ALWAYS
70 s. Back had classy good looking ladies with very good songs. McGuire sisters Bobbie Gentry ,Karen Carpenter, Gladys Knight, Dione Warwick, Roberta Flack. NO greasy tattoos, nose rings , or pumping a microphone like this 21st century friek show.
Yeah it was not the best ,and it didn't become a standard but Petula gave a great performance ,and holds such memories for me as I saw her perform it at London’s Royal Albert Hall four days earlier ,the first time I saw her live. This was her last appearance on the regular Ed Sullivan Show
This is what "the world needs now"! Dame Clark's singing is good for the pain in my brain these times have brought about...thanks.
Always liked this song. I don't know why the single didn't do better on the charts.
Wow.. I have now seen all of the PC Sullivan performances. This was good.
It's been too long since we have seen a performance by the amazing Petula Clark. My 60s wouldn't have been the same without her music.
This was the 19 th consecutive charting single from Petula. I am so glad this was finally posted to the Ed Sullivan channel. Delightful!!
What a fantastic way to bring in the New Year! Now I think we've finally got ALL of Pet's appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show!!! :)
Even Dean Martin liked Petula😉 Such a beautiful, great Singer and 60's Pop Icon she was!
Petula Clark turns 93 in November 2025!
I can't wait, and just like Dick VanDyke is still dancing at I think 97, I want to hear Petula singing at 93.....boo-yeah.
Good song, new to me. There was no one better than her at singing those upbeat pop songs, such a natural sense of rhythm and pitch.
One Of My Favorite 60’s Female Singer’s🌹Wonderful Voice , Great Singer/ Entertainer !A Terrific Super ⭐️😊

The most beautiful of all the '60s divas.
Always beautiful and a great singer
No one better than you 🎁🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Superb.
My sister was Ed Sullivan's personal secretary and she got an autographed photo of Petula during her heyday. Also the Beatles and The Animals. No kidding!
Wow! Did she save the autographs?
If memory serves me correctly, Petula was a personal favorite of Ed Sullivan.
Oh, our Petula !!
Don’t remember this at all on US radio
It didn’t get much airplay and only reached # 93 on the charts. Too bad, it’s a pretty good song.
Diva
I Have No Words ....but "Simply Sensational " will have to do....

Petula made the 1960s COOL…! 😎❤😊🎶
This must have been sung on the same Ed Sullivan show as the Fool on the Hill was sung! Same dress anyway! The Fool on the Hill in my opinion is her best performance on American TV!
Yes. Fool On the Hill followed No One Better Than You. Earlier in the show she sang Fill the world With Love.
Sweet song!! Petula's sound takes me right back to the '60s. 😊💜
Wish u would go there now and shut up !

Petula is a very good singer. My favorite song is, "Downtown."
Mind, too! My other favorite is My Love!
Petula Clark! Glenn
Apparently all live
I miss those days!!
She was fabulous, but this song is a bit forgettable.

Totally disagree. The recording is far superior to the live version. One of my favorites.
@@michaelkeen9172 Recordings are usually better ,but I will always love this too
@@michaelkeen9172 Agreed. This doesn't really reflect how good the single was. It really should have charted higher.
