  • This videos deserves a solid warning. Although instructional, this video is not an encouragement to replicate the actions shown within. A number of people have reported damaging these components while attempting to clean them.
    I have never ruined a throttle body, although I have cleaned a few.

    Always a good idea to do a relearn procedure after messing with the throttle bodies. I have gotten a high idle after changing my starter and cleaning the throttle bodies of my M56S. It's a quick easy process. May be a good video for you Ed.

      Solid suggestion, now I have multiple cameras, I could try to show that in detail 👍 👍

    Yo Ed...whaaadup. Just cleaned mine about 2 moths ago. As usual with little time to work on my FX45...cleaned mine with TB on. Had to play twister to do it lmao but got'er done also had to do Idle Relearn or "Pedal Dance" as us Infiniti owners call it.

    Hey man I subscribed because your like the only one with content on these 5.6s. I just got a 2015 q70 5.6. Do these engines have carbon issues found on di engines. All the shops say they don't have tools to walnut blast only for BMW and audi. One shop told me they think Infiniti put dual injectors after 2014 to clean valves. Can't confirm. Dealer says they don't have issues with carbon in intake. Someone posted an m56 with dirty intake valves. I just don't want to be surprised.

      I just saw this. Not sure if you still have your 5.6, but I recently got a chance to walnut blast my engine. At 105k, mine did not look too bad and even after the process the vehicle behaves exactly like it did with all the oil caked.
      Maybe if I keep driving it for another few years I might tell the difference, but for now, I don't think it's anything I'd be too worried about. *I always keep my PCV valves healthy though*

    Hi Ed I am having acceleration problems on the highway sometimes on my 2011 m56, someone told me could be my alternator getting overheating (very odd I guess) I am gonna drive it tomorrow with my lights off, I just did my MAF sensors as you explained it to us on this video. Thanks and I will let you know if this solve the problem my friend.

    Hi Ed I am I big fan of your work with the m56 cars you have and I also own one. My M56x 2011 is having a problem with the fan. When I first start the car the fan is already turning on which is odd because the engine is cold. I got it checked out and had 4 codes pop out which are po725, p1815, u1000 and c1109. They think that it is the fan belt that is lose but idk. Would you please help me and thank you .

    I have a question, I have a 2011 m56. Needs a battery. After I replace it, do I need to perform the idle relearn procedure or whatever they are?

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  3 роки тому

      No, you don't need to do that. At best, just reset your windows and sunroof.
      ...and comfort settings if they go away

    I’m doing this tomorrow… just had my spark plugs changed last week. Infiniti m56x has 90k. I’ve been noticing the last couple months every time I gun it I smell gasoline.. sometimes white smoke out of exhaust… anything else I can check myself before taking to it to a mechanic ? Maybe fuel injectors ?

      Were you able to fix the gas issue? Did you check your HPFP as well as the PCV valves?

    Greetings I have a problem with the drain hose of the evaporator. Apparently it is covered because a water noise is heard through the dash but I have verified and can not find where the sleeve is to deal with it. Perhaps you have knowledge of where this sleeve is located in order to verify it. Thanks for the help you can give me my car is a 2012 Infinity M56S

      The drain hose runs along the far front of the cabin. Under the dash, under the carpet. It drains somewhere near the front right wheel (US models) and during hot, humid days you'll see a puddle there when running AC.
      Water sloshing behind the steering wheel is usually a symptom of a heater core that has air. Coolant will need to be bled properly.

    Have you ever sprayed carbon cleaner thru your master cylinder vacuum on m56?

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  4 роки тому

      I haven't done that, but I'll be getting a walnut blast kit soon.

    How are the Catalytic Converters holding up for you? I ended up with codes P0420, P0011, P00128, and P0087. I’m going to replace the cats when I get my income tax. But I’m not sure what to do about the other codes :(

      You running the required 91 octane?

      Always 93. Nothing below

      @@Eldomibori I got your email & replied to you.
      But only one of the m56s *sometimes* shows the catalytic code. The light goes away on its own.
      I'm working on a solution, but to move quicker, I need to get bad catalytic converters/manifolds from someone who has replaced them.

    • @sdwalton33

      I get a periodic P0420 low Cat function code as well that goes away on its own. Main reason I installed a catch can. I think since I have a custom exhaust I'll just be taking the easy option by emptying the cats out and getting the car tuned since we don't have emissions testing that requires a sniffer in the tailpipe here. A heck of a lot cheaper if it's an available option.

    • @Eldomibori
      @Eldomibori 4 роки тому

      EdBwoy I’m going to get a custom exhaust and do a cat delete. Maybe that will help the engine breathe better and not clog.

    Hey Ed so I’m having sun acceleration problems with my 2012 m56 won’t go over 3500 rpm and sometimes when I press my foot on the gas I get no response should cleaning my throttle body and MAF sensor fix my issue?

    • @EdBwoy
      @EdBwoy  Рік тому

      I would recommend you get the car scanned for codes before spending resources on the wrong thing. There are a few different triggers for fail-safe at 3500 rpm

    I need some help with an FX50S . Do you know anyone in the NYC area who works on Infiniti V8 or FX50?

      Sorry I missed this. Unless it's a very unique issue that requires dealer tools, I would take it to any shop that can work on an Infiniti Q50, G37 etc

      Thankfully it's not a common failure. But it's nice to have 2 TBs for performance
