The first half of the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.
Thank you for these great projects, thank you for sharing your belief & faith in God, thank you for ALWAYS being "safe" & fun to watch, thank you for your background music, thank you for not "hinting" for companies or people to send you things for free or pushing T-shirts, thank you for sharing your precious little boy's joy with us, & just thank you for all your videos!! You're a blessing, & we pray God continues to bless you & your family!!
What you need to do is get a funnel, cut off the spout, turn it upside down and the feed will not collect in the middle where they can't reach it, but be pushed to the holes. Love the project from scrap. Great job. Look forward to you vids.
Beautifully filmed, Wes! Indeed, a great idea for leftover pieces. It won't be long before your son will be helping you with those projects! God bless you all 🙏🙏🙏
Great video Wes! I guessed what it was when you put the Hex tube on the base at 9.35! After watching you mill so much lumber, it is fantastic to see a finished project being made. More please! Stay safe & well. 👍👍
For gluing up those long mitered corners: Lay all our boards out flat with the long edges up and touching. Put blue tape down the whole length of the seams. Turn it over with tape on the bench and put glue on all the faces of the miters. Now just fold the seams closed and put another piece of tape around the circumference to hold the seams closed while it dries. Also, if you let the glue soak into the boards for 5-10 minutes and begin to skin over on the surface before putting the two edges together, it will dry strong much faster.
Wes, your workbench is so pretty I was worried that you’d get some of that sealant on it! Hubby said, “What part of workbench do you not understand?”! Clever bird feeder. Well done, Wes.
Thanks for allowing us to watch a creative man at work. Best with no talk just action. Your shirt changes suggest a multiple day project? Tough little bird.
A word to the wise,, set up & saw out 20 at a time put the pieces in a bucket// bin,, glue brush,, saves glue & sanding time.. Glad to see the little happy pup!! Aloha
Mighty fine! I kid you not. Granddaddy kept his pocket knife unreal sharp. He would go out in the yard and pick up a stick of cedar. I can still see him sitting out on the porch a pile of shavings beneath him whittling down that rough hue into a cigar shape thing of beauty, far smoother than any machine could have ever done. I miss him that old place and that old porch. It's a subdivision there now.O but in my mind that place still stands. Granddaddy whittling sitting out on that porch and I wanted to be just like him! thanks 4 the memory! God is good. 1 Cor 15:1-4
Nice job! When it comes to woodworking I'm so bad I had to nail two boards together to cut them the same length. The thing that got me though was that beautiful table or workbench you were working on. You made me want to yell every time you started drilling. And when you started finishing your birdhouse you slopped that finish all over it. I know it was only a finger-jointed tabletop but I wish I had it. As always love the video and God Bless.
Just tip, you can lay those tube boards flat, side by side, with the 45's down, and use painters tape and run 2 strips the whole lenght. Then turn the whole thing over and glue the angles, and roll up like a tool roll, and tape up. Let dry, then nail. Looks awesome...
Nice bird feeder, even nicer work bench. Ya scared me for a minute there. With all that sanding, I thought you were going to hide that cedar beneath a coat of paint.
Good evening. Another fantastic woodworking project. I may have to give that one a try myself. What angle did you cut the side panels? Thanks for sharing. God Bless.
Hi Jason. I am working on setting up an Amazon Affiliate store now. However, here's the link to the finish here: www.amazon.com/Akzo-Nobel-Coatings-Inc-FLD542-01/dp/B003B6J77C/ref=sr_1_17?dchild=1&keywords=flood+clear&m=A2ENTBEZKGXKVW&qid=1614436475&s=merchant-items&sr=1-17 It's really good stuff.
I learned my lesson about feeding squirrels. DON'T! If you do, keep it away from your garden. The feed will fall to the ground and it will invite every kind of small animal in the area. I'm talking mice, moles , voles, chipmunks, rats and God only knows what else. NEVER AGAIN!
The stuff I like to use: www.amazon.com/shop/falllineridge
Was the T-Shirt with the St Francis logo deliberate??? *Saint Francis of Assisi is known as the patron saint of animals, birds, and the environment*
I could use any of it except the DeWalt junk.

@Kyson Cullen I'm sure

Very cool. Love to swop decals with you to put on my board in my work shop.👍

Great project ideal now just sit back and enjoy watching the birds while relaxing. Thanks for sharing your videos and God bless
Thanks 👍
Nice of you to care for our feathered friends. Next up should be a bird bath. It's always fun watching birds washing and cooling off.
A splendid little film, expertly filmed and edited. I really like the no narration aspect too. A weekend treat. Thanks
Thanks, David. Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice project! I always love seeing your beagle.

Did you see those birds. There's a bully in every crowd. It was a great project. Beautiful
Definitely a mean little thing. Appreciate you watching.
9 minutes and 42 seconds and there's a smiley face on the wood. In the knot. 😊
I love making bird houses. It fun to see the birds feeding. Great job
Absolutely beautiful 😍
I love these little birds

Very good detail work, and the birds love it

I assume no squirrels were injured in the making of the bird shots!? Great looking feeder. That cedar shines through out the video!!
Thanks!
Nice little project! I love the honesty of your videos just like real projects happen.
I am getting ready to do some log suet feeders.
Beautiful wood. Feeder look awesome👍👍
Nice job Wes. Good video, thumbs up.
Thanks 👍. Appreciate you watching!
I enjoy guessing that it was a Bird feeder before you finished, great job.
Thanks for allowing us to watch a creative man at work. Best with no talk just action. Your shirt changes suggest a multiple day project? Tough little bird.
Yep, took three days to complete filming, just working a few hours a day. A lot of these videos take more than one day.
I love feeding birds, I love mysteries, and I love the way you made this video.
No words needed, and I was not disappointed with the reveal.
Very worth while project, something I have to do myself as the old feeder is about knackered.

My son made a cedar bird house when he was a young scout. It smelled so nice.
I’ve been building Red Cedar Bluebird houses. Very purdy!

I found the lantern feeder at Tractor Supply like you said. Now I feel I need one of these too. Looks good!
Thanks! Super easy to make, you could do it in a day.
A very upmarket restaurant for a bird with an attitude problem. Turned out beautifully.
No kidding. Mean little thing.
Great job, That is one feisty little bird!!!

That table is a Home Depot special! I usually put another board down so I don't drill into it. Got it on sale a year or so ago, really good table.
I feel like if I keep watching these videos I’m gonna see fingers go missing. Cool stuff but one of the most violent woodworkers I’ve ever seen lol 😆
Nice project. Well done.
I'm glad you didn't tell us what you were making from the start, made it more interesting. Those birds at the end were hilarious, what a mean one!
Nicely done - all of it.
Looks beautiful.☺
you are so talented..😞😞
With cool project like these, do you ever rely have “scrap” cedar? And thanks for another good video.
Cool project
Great little project. On a side note I could never go that long without taliking to myself, out loud.
Just tip, you can lay those tube boards flat, side by side, with the 45's down, and use painters tape and run 2 strips the whole lenght. Then turn the whole thing over and glue the angles, and roll up like a tool roll, and tape up. Let dry, then nail. Looks awesome...

Glad you like them!
Greetings from Russia friend. Well done. 👍👍👍
Greetings! Thank you.
Nice bird feeder, even nicer work bench. Ya scared me for a minute there. With all that sanding, I thought you were going to hide that cedar beneath a coat of paint.
No way! That stuff goes like it's paint, but then soaks in.
A nice vertical slot with a router and covered with a piece of plexiglass would tell when to fill again. Just a thought.
I thought a plexiglass window would be great, but wasn't totally sure how to do it. Thank you for the tip.
Good evening. Another fantastic woodworking project. I may have to give that one a try myself. What angle did you cut the side panels? Thanks for sharing. God Bless.
Wow 👌👌👌👌 sprrrr wrk
A few small holes in the seed tray might help drain rain and snow melt (?) from the tray and prolong the life. Nice job!
If you watched the video you would know he put some in each corner.
@@backyardmechanic921 My bad! Indeed at 17:25 he drilled the drain holes!
Great job but you may need a Baffle inside to stop feed from hanging up in the center. Very pretty. I love cedar. Chet O'Brien
When you open the can of What I presume is polyurethane. It sure look like a pail of butterscotch pudding. Maybe it was the lighting.😂🤣 YUM
Absolutely gorgeous, do sell them? Because I would, very, very nice.....
Love your work though that wood is incredibly beautiful. Where I come from too good for a bird house.
Is there a reason you didn't add a drain hole in the feed tray?
EXCELENTE TRABALHO, VOCE ESTA DE PARABENS
that is a very nice squirrel feeder, since it is not squirrel proof, the squirrels will be getting more use out of it.
Well done god bless thanks
A great device for attracting squirrels.
That one sparrow seems to have decided the feeder is her own larder😋, and no one else gets to eat from it at least until she is full. 😝
I think it's a nice project.
I see the boss coming to check in on you at 7:37 lol
восхитительно! честно! но у нас для этих целей используют бумажный пакет от молока :D

Good evening from SE Louisiana 28 Feb 21.
Well done
Good job
I think those feed holes need to be a little larger so the seed can flow out.
I have Three feeders one for the Bully, The other two for everyone else. Funny he or (she) fly`s back and forth but can`t keep up .
That's a great idea!
Ideal for stingless bees 🐝🐝🐝
It won't be long before the squirrels scurry up that tree and help themselves to the birdseed.
Nice, very nice.
Thanks, Eddie.
Since you're using DeWalt tools , I am surprised you can make anything other than firewood. LOL. Nice project!
I also saw Makita!!!
@@tonygrimes13 yeah but the DeWalt junk can spoil any project .
Scrap?
👍 From Cadillac Michigan
could be made with hand tools and a inverted funnel
Good size - won't need filling as often
It sure didn't take long for it to take a hit with its first of many bird turds. Lol
Comes with the territory.
Only one thing wrong with this project. Will the paint you used kill the birds?
No, it's a weather seal that soaks into the wood. Won't hurt a thing,
Grate feeling.
Beautiful. M. Belinda Davis in NC
An “easy project “ as long as you have several $000 worth of woodworking tools ! 😂 nice use of gorgeous looking wood though ! 👍
thats nice
Some birds just don't know how to share! 🐦
Little guy was a bully.
Why on sound??????
Great
Good one
Tell them there's plenty for everyone, so to play nice!
Project was a success, ask the birds! Geez, I thought "selfish" was a human quality...apparently not!
😁 Nice
