Form Factory 1 Construction Progress - 12/29

This video shows construction progress made on Form Factory 1 as of December 29, 2023. Form Factory 1 will be Form Energy's first high-volume battery manufacturing facility and will be located in Weirton, West Virginia.

When I see this tract of land, I cannot stop thinking of what it looked like back in the 1960's when I was young. I remember a small car wash at the triangle of near where Route 2 and Pennsylvania Avenue came together, and that kind of scary road that paralleled Route 2 near where that new building is going up apparently. I am not sure what part of Weirton Steel was back there back then, but it was kind of dark, scary, and I assume an old part of Weirton Steel. And there were some run down houses along Route 2 near there that looked like they were ready to crumble down at any time. But that was that a part of Weirton back then, and Weirton was a mill town that employed tens if not hundreds of thousands of employees over the decades, and supported their families. Never in a million years back then would I think Weirton Steel would ever shut down. Weirton Steel was a great company, and great to the city, and to its citizens. I still cannot believe that it is gone, and never will.
