@@BornToRunCoach Dude!! I’m so sorry about that. You guys look like the same person in this video! 🤣 Anyway, thank you so much for the awesome content.
Hey Eric, great vid. I've developed this problem from running on the beach, I guess soft sand can replicate having some soft and cushioned shoes on, thanks for your help, back to the road now
Yes, because you lose stability at your feet. Also, if the beach is slanted towards the water, this can cause IT band issues. If you have Born To Run 2, follow the IT band remedy with wall squats and running lunge to help.
@@BornToRunCoach my whole run was slanted, and I did a half marathon on the beach, no wonder I have issues haha. I definitely have born to run 2, will crack on with the exercises!
Hey Eric, thanks for your tips. The book has been a great resource in my running (specifically with ITBS). I have a request regarding your videos: would you mind posting a link to the time during your video when you summarize the main points regarding the topic? It can be hard to carve out the time to watch a 20 min video, so I usually have to fish for it in the video. Thanks again.
When I started running a couple of years ago, I did struggle with it band for months..then I started working on my technique and strength training especially the gluteus medius ecc..the it band completed disappeared..then last week I put on new shoes.. slight more cushioning for a long run..and bang the fk it band came out.. I guess I'll get back to my minimal hard shoes and strength training
Thanks a lot for another great video - love your advice and enjoy watching the scenery! After watching your video on injuries during easy workouts I started working on my cadence which automatically lowered my stride length. Two effects I saw almost instantly were - my ITB and my quads stopped hurting. At the same time though my hip flexor started screaming. Now I wonder if it’s just my body getting used to the new effort or am I still doing smth wrong :S pS: which exercise would you be doing on a this airy wobbly balancing disks?
The increase in cadence is just probably working your hip flexor a little more than usual. So probably just some endurance needed for it. Thanks for the great report, this is good for people to read, thank you!
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! Just getting out of ITBS. I can see how hills can contribute to ITBS, since it's easier to over stride. Edit: just got altra Escalante you recommended - I can feel that inside of both shoes big finger and cushion made little dents so I guess my foot position is ok. I'm guilty as charged of over stride though :) Qq:. I keep getting toe pain during long runs longer than 15km. I got them both with inov8 x talon 210 and with altra Escalante. Any idea why this happens?
Another great video. It’s just the best content on the Internet. By the way, the book is very helpful. Thanks a lot.
Best explanation ever. I finally understood it. Thanks also for your good and slow speech (helps foreigners like me to follow it). 😀
Thanks for the info in this video.
Thanks for watching. BTW, that is me at the end doing my fit ball lunge exercise from my book.

Great suggestion! Warmer weather = longer videos 😉

Great to hear from you and hope ITBS is gone forever! Thanks for watching and hope you like the shoes. 🏃♂️💪
@@BornToRunCoach love them so far 🙂
What would you say about Glute pain in regards to running? Cause for that?
