I am almost 65 years old, been living in my present shared house for nearly 3 years always paid my rent on time from wages I have worked hard for on building site's, now the landlord has decided to sell our house, applied to local council housing department for help with rehousing and they have put me in lowest priority category , I will be homeless in 3 weeks time, 3 other foreign residents of our house have already been allocated alternative accommodation, I have a full English birth certificate wonder what I've done wrong
Absolutely and I'm glad you were able to get stable! To think of all the empty buildings and houses across the country that people aren't allowed to "squat" in, those could be used in the most positive effort. I always thought Extreme Home Makeover should be doing things like that. Instead of just taking one family, take those giant empty buildings and revamp them for thousands of people.
I feel people should be entitled to a home. I'm sure people like Len would be happy as hell just to have a small room to live in. Because at least he will have a base to try and fix his life somehow. But what the hell are you supposed to do without a base?
