"Thank you for purchasing a rock 'n' roll monster!" was the first sentence in the manual. This loyal companion was easily the best choice for me. Bought it because of Carcass.

@@SxSxG666 Hell yeah man! Carcass have had some incredible tones over the years, I don’t blame you! What’s your favourite Carcass record?

@@NevermoreAudio I think the sound of the Heartwok album is incredible. I guess they just recorded a 5051 with a Tube Screamer and added some reverb (too bad the amp is missing it). Together with rather sloppy strings they basically created one of the best sounding metal albums ever.
The Necroticism album is great too and even the early grind stuff certainly has it's charm. Worked for me to annoy my parents in the 90s.

When the 5150 first came out, I had a friend who worked in a music shop (Kingfisher in Fleet for those that can remember that far back) who was always happy for me to try amps LOUD. They had a full stack of the "new" Peavey 5150 and he let me thrash my little heart out through it on a Saturday afternoon. It was absolutely visceral and cemented my need for one. Not that I could ever afford it at the time! Amazing amps.

@@Lozart that sounds absolutely incredible - its so rare nowadays that we get to really crank this stuff up!

@@NevermoreAudio absolutely! They used to have alarms on all the guitars that would start buzzing if anyone took one off the wall without switching it off first. After one verse of Master of Puppets pretty much all of them were going off!

Bough an iconic combo last week because I wanted to get closer to my favourite guitar tone, within my budget (and allowed loudness lol). It's in the ballpark I would say, but still aching to try the real deal because I never did. Anyway, great quality vid my man! GL with the channel, I'll keep an eye out for it.

Congratulations on your Iconic! Definitely give a 5150 a try, before the 5150 I had a 5150ii that was absolutely crushing so I’d keep an eye for those too!
      Thank you for watching!

Iconic combo is a great shout, the consensus I believe is that the speaker is the weak link with those, definitely look into it because you might find that you can improve your tone really easy and for not much money!

Bought mine September 1993. It was $450. I have no idea what my guitar journey would have been without it.

That sounds like an amazing deal - I don't actually know how much they were new though! It's so cool that it's stayed with you 31 years!

@@jrtme About $970 in todays money, that's not bad at all compared to the price of amps nowadays!
