Great upgrades 👍 We have a self build and pretty much used midland leisure for everything, great company. The super strong magnets are great for attaching the 12v fans and they are ridiculously strong for tiny magnets. We’ve glued one to the top of our fans and the a number of other half of the magnets all over the van so we can put the fans where we need them.
If you have a fan and a flannel you can always keep cool in summer - a damp facecloth lets you damp your skin and the fans will let it evaporate and cool you - love those 12v fans, going to have to get one or two of those 👍
Sounds like a great plan Darren the other thing you can do is having a bowl of water in front of a fan cools the air coming from the fan and it’s a great idea to have more room for your fishing tackle. I’m off to Farlows lakes just off the M25 tomorrow for my first days carp fishing if the year
Regards to heat, keeping blinds AND curtains closed ALL DAY , helps keep the heat out ( till sun goes). Likewise, doing the same thing when its cold helps keep the heat in, but, only in evenings.
Yo just discovered you. Love your channel you’re in it well done me duck ❤️. Hope to catch up on the road Thanks for reminding me about Oaktree they’re close by when off road
Love the new door. Definitely a game changer. Our Motorhome has two garage doors and it was a disaster when one of the locks failed. We travel with 2 of us and two dogs so garage storage is a must. Anyway, I have a recommendation for you specifically in my video out tomorrow so an incentive to watch 😜
Brilliant job oak tree done it’s great to see such care and attention, good place for the spare wheel if it was underneath would been a nightmare, and your garage door now you can get to your fishing gear your a joy to watch thanks for sharing
thanks for sharing your new home toys and gadgets. As you say gonna be a game changer of keeping cool during hot temperature times ahead overseas as doubt you will get much benefit in UK anymore says he tucked up in bed to keep warm as only 2 degrees outside at 9.30 a, on 03/03/24 in Devon.
Love all the mods Daz as for your cooling I would have put air con on the roof and set up the power like the roaming radfords had done as the can run it off the solar.😊
OK mate, love all the additions to the van (I'm an extras freak on my van) White elephant in the room is would you care to let us know the cost, so we can put oak tree on our think list. have a great life.
Hi Daz great upgrade on van brilliant idea the to max fans and really great idea the garage door on the other side of the van really looking forward to seeing your next video keep safe 😊👍🏻
Really great idea those fans . Has given me an idea for ours as aircon units take up too much space on the roof . Just had 560w of solar added to my 784 roof by Bluefix . An identical 784 was in having work done and because of their aircon they could only fit 2x90w panels on roof . Would rather have the extra solar . Must admit it is fabulous having two doors in the garage like you now have . Much easier to get to stuff . Great video again Darren .
some great changes Darren. I cannot wait to see a comparison with Steve's zircon. You want to run systems to see which lasts longer as well as reduction in temp....
I would be interested to know what they used to cap off your aerial as I have the same kind of thing and water is leaking inside the tube. We don’t need our aerial as we don’t watch terrestrial tv either.
Saw your van yesterday parked up at the Harrogate show, she's a beast and the spare tyre gave it away (your van, not the wife 😂) Didn't see you, were you doing a talk?
Nice idea but its just a shame Oaktree didn't try and source the same colour for the exterior panel of the new door and use identical locks/door handle catches to make the whole job blend in better and match to what was used as original on the motorhome.
16 year faded and UV damaged wasn't in the list of available colours. It is always difficult upgrading older motorhomes with brand new parts as they can look a bit out of place. You have a choice when doing something like this. Source a second hand part or buy the modern alternative, the original doors are obsolete.
The nice thing about Darren is he's not a flash monkey, he puts what is useful and practical above what looks pretty....it's his home, not a part time leisure vehicle.
Electric fans increase the ambient temperature due to the heat emitted by the motors. They move the air around but do not lower the temperature at all.
Nice upgrades, this vlog has confirmed that it is was definitely you we waved to on the A46 Friday, but after looking in the wing mirror and seeing a chrome wheel on the back we was like was it or wasn’t it the Urban one 😂
No mention of the Reolink doorbell cameras as low profile external cameras... Good choice. I've asked Reolink if they will make a camera only in the same low profile format, we will wait and see...
The fans will make you feel cooler as air flow evaporates your sweat when you are hot…but the van will still be same temperature as your only circulating hot air..with air conditioning it cools the air
wow all great upgrades we have 2x doors on garage they make access so easy, what a great job oaktree have done, we may upgrade to max fan eventually, yours should provide a hurricane flow 🤣
When driving with a car in south of France to Spain with aircon on, it seemed like nothing cooler, you get better cooling with it off and all windows open.
Hi mate, myself and my partner are planning of moving out of our house into a nice new touring caravan, for a much more simple, pleasing and relaxed lifestyle, do you have any tips, does and donts? And also you sound like a southerner like myself do you know of any good sites you stay at or know of?
Great upgrade with the garage door but it not the right colour white the milenco lock is the right colour white sorry to be bicky also there shhould be a rubber seal around the door covering the black retaining clips I have a Burstner.
Hi mate am from Manchester 29 in next few months I am buying a motorhome to move into full time. Please can you go into more detail on a video or message to help me out ... Like the electrics (how often do you charge even how do you ect ... Gas , heating literally anything what can help so I have a full idea for when I take the leap. Many thanks 🙏
Hiya mate, I have quite a few videos where I go over things like this and what my set up is, how to find park ups, how I cook, how I preserve power, what I do about living full-time during the winter and more. Have a search back through the channel and there should be plenty of what your looking for! Good luck with it all 👍🏻
I understand your thinking, but I don't think you will beat A/C, for cooling. You will only get a small temp. drop as ambient will be to high. Be an interesting exercise never the less.
What were the manufactures of the motorhome thinking when they designed it with only one garage door? It must have been a serious pain in the a**e when what you needed to get out was at the opposite end to the door. These things are getting on for 8 feet wide, how long do they think your arms are? No you can easily access everything in the garage. I can fully understand why you’re so excited with the second door. Happy travelling.
Your genuine joyous happiness for your new garage door has made me feel happy too. 🤗
You are a real tonic Darren.🤗🌞
Those guys at Oaktrees seem to be the Bees Knees, they do a fantastic job, you & them make a good collaboration.
I am so happy for you and the upgrades you did. I have to say Oak Tree are such professionals you’re so lucky 🎉
Yeah they definitely look after me
Haven’t seen you for a while, good to see you back. You are so enthusiastic and such a nice man. Great stuff.
Ah really? Ive still been posting videos once a week but maybe I haven't been showing up! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel 😃
Oaktree advertisement spare wheel cover is what's needed, mutual win.
Yep, they are on it already!
Great upgrades 👍 We have a self build and pretty much used midland leisure for everything, great company. We’ve glued one to the top of our fans and the a number of other half of the magnets all over the van so we can put the fans where we need them.
Great additions and as you say game changer ,our first motorhome had 2 garage doors makes life very easy
If you have a fan and a flannel you can always keep cool in summer - a damp facecloth lets you damp your skin and the fans will let it evaporate and cool you - love those 12v fans, going to have to get one or two of those 👍
The Motorhome is looking class Dazzler! Fantastic access for all the fishing gear!! 😉 🎣 Daz is a happy fella! Top video …. Smithy
Cheers mate! Yeah I'm well happy
Sounds like a great plan Darren the other thing you can do is having a bowl of water in front of a fan cools the air coming from the fan and it’s a great idea to have more room for your fishing tackle. I’m off to Farlows lakes just off the M25 tomorrow for my first days carp fishing if the year
Aircon challenge accepted Daz 🥶
Hell yeah! Game on brother! 😁😁👍🏻👍🏻
Looking forward to this challenge. I always enjoy it when my favourite vloggers get together makes compelling viewing.
The fans will just blow hot air about@@TheUrbanMotorhome
Fans got no chance, if it's 30 degrees outside it doesn't matter how much you blow, the temp won't be less than 30 degrees 😊
To be honest you would have thought they would have built the motorhome with an access door on both sides. 😊😊
Love the new garage door, looks great. I also like the spare wheel on the back, I think it looks cool, how about a nice cover for the wheel? 😊
Thanks! Oaktree are sitting out a cover for me
Love your videos, haven't watched you for a while but I do love catching up, you make me want a motor home x
Regards to heat, keeping blinds AND curtains closed ALL DAY , helps keep the heat out ( till sun goes). Likewise, doing the same thing when its cold helps keep the heat in, but, only in evenings.
Happy for you Darren. Huge difference having access to both sides of the garage. Looking forward to your next vid 👊😎
Yo just discovered you. Love your channel you’re in it well done me duck ❤️. Hope to catch up on the road Thanks for reminding me about Oaktree they’re close by when off road
Brilliant upgrades, well done. Have a feeling though the fans will only circulate warm air?
I’m so happy that it makes you so happy mate looks brilliant, I only use fans in my caravan and it keeps this cool just fine
In, Out, In, Out - Blow it all about 🤣
Hi daz I'm thinking that you would like louvers on your shower/bathroom door to allow the air to move through with out keeping it open.
Empty garage open two doors climb in and that will keep you cool in summer.

Yeah its been a game changer for the garage!
Have you heard of a mini split? It’s something to look into. Takes much less power and most say they love theirs.
thanks for sharing your new home toys and gadgets. As you say gonna be a game changer of keeping cool during hot temperature times ahead overseas as doubt you will get much benefit in UK anymore says he tucked up in bed to keep warm as only 2 degrees outside at 9.30 a, on 03/03/24 in Devon.
Fans - put one through the floor where you sit, the coolest place around your MH is directly underneath it (with bug & mouse screens, obviously).
Love all the mods Daz as for your cooling I would have put air con on the roof and set up the power like the roaming radfords had done as the can run it off the solar.😊
Great video, love the enthusiasm. What type of fishing do you do?
Great improvements Daz, don't forget a cover and locking device for your spare wheel 👍🫶
Daz you are like a big kid in a sweet shop so happy for you happy travels love Avis xx
OK mate, love all the additions to the van (I'm an extras freak on my van) White elephant in the room is would you care to let us know the cost, so we can put oak tree on our think list.
have a great life.
The door could be wrapped with a matching colour, or wrap each door with the same colour as the plastics
Hi Daz great upgrade on van brilliant idea the to max fans and really great idea the garage door on the other side of the van really looking forward to seeing your next video keep safe 😊👍🏻

Channel logo on a spare wheel cover?
Oaktree are sorting something out for it 👍🏻
Just love you enthusiasm 👍

I got 2nd hand excitement watching this hope you have a blast! I would love to show you mine at some point 😊
I have the same van and have a spare wheel already under the van.
I'm really pleased for you.
I would have fitted a third fan at the opposite end so that the toilet door didn’t have to be open for the in / out airflow theory to work
Saw your van yesterday parked up at the Harrogate show, she's a beast and the spare tyre gave it away (your van, not the wife 😂)
Didn't see you, were you doing a talk?

A van with two sliding doors opposite each other circulates the air adequately.
Agree with damp face cloth put it in the fridge or use a cool pad the ones for dogs to keep cool can be used for humans too😊
Really good upgrades. The door is the best🎉
No mention of the Reolink doorbell cameras as low profile external cameras... Good choice. I've asked Reolink if they will make a camera only in the same low profile format, we will wait and see...
No wonder no one guessed right, it's a large square hole and you shown us a small round piece, wouldn't want you setting the questions in a pub quiz 😂
The fans will make you feel cooler as air flow evaporates your sweat when you are hot…but the van will still be same temperature as your only circulating hot air..with air conditioning it cools the air
Two Door Daz! 😃👍
Your even beginning to sound like Billy Bunter......eeeeeks lol 😂
Loving the big Darren flap 😂
How didn’t you manage without one 👍😎
wow all great upgrades we have 2x doors on garage they make access so easy, what a great job oaktree have done, we may upgrade to max fan eventually, yours should provide a hurricane flow 🤣
As an urban motorhomer, how many times a year do you use your barbecue stuff and is it worth it to carry it around all the time?
Hi Darren easier to take just a tyre with you. We full-time and just use fans 1x 240 volts and 2x 12volt. Air movement is very important.
Good video Darren, enjoy your travels,
Looks brill lad them done gd job
Great vlog Darren thanks really enjoyed it Chris /Jan
Great Vlog Daz, could you use the replay in the Cerbo to activate the fans when the temp went over a certain point?
I probably can. I will of course get one of my trusted mechanics to look at this for me 😂
Us guys are all just big kids....something epitomised in this video...love it 😊😂
Awesome upgrades daz 😊👍
Brilliant video 1st time for me and I love the channel mate
Nice one mate, glad you enjoyed and welcome to the channel!
When driving with a car in south of France to Spain with aircon on, it seemed like nothing cooler, you get better cooling with it off and all windows open.
Did Oaktree fit the Maxxfan for you? Are Rob & the team now taking bookings for accessory fitting?
Yeah Oaktree did it all for me. I'm not sure if they are able to take new accessory bookings on though still, best to get in touch with them
I think the second max air would have been better in the living area and a smaller one in the bathroom
amazing video Daz. What antenna did you have fitted on your motorhome, I am looking to do the same to mine so would love to know. Thanks
Hi What a great lot of uploads brilliant job. Can I ask who fitted the Max fan please ?
/
The guys at Oaktree fitted it for me 👍🏻
Hi mate, myself and my partner are planning of moving out of our house into a nice new touring caravan, for a much more simple, pleasing and relaxed lifestyle, do you have any tips, does and donts? And also you sound like a southerner like myself do you know of any good sites you stay at or know of?
looks great
Had to cut the roof on my old mh to fit a bigger skylight - that was a bit involved 😂
Hi Daz…I had aircon fitted to my auto sleeper 2 years ago ..if you want to use my motorhome in a cool duel please let me know 😂
Get yourself a spare wheel cover, the sun will age that spare tyre pretty quickly.
I love spare wheel covers especially ones with hair on. Love you so much xxx
Oaktree are sorting one for me 👍🏻
If you want to challenge my Truma aircon that I had fitted by Truma please let me know ..happy to meet up 😊👍
Uk has no sun mate 😂
Have a spray bottle full of water and keep spraying yourself that with the fans will keep you cool
If it's 36 degrees outside you will just be pulling in hot air surely
To be fair you did mention wall when you showed the cut out 😂😂😂😂
Great upgrade with the garage door but it not the right colour white the milenco lock is the right colour white sorry to be bicky also there shhould be a rubber seal around the door covering the black retaining clips I have a Burstner.
nice door Darren
Not sure if you vent system will work AC drops the air temp your fans will just pull in hot air from outside into the van ??.
Hi mate am from Manchester 29 in next few months I am buying a motorhome to move into full time.
Please can you go into more detail on a video or message to help me out ...

That is to build some wall, strutural area , is light and strong.
I understand your thinking, but I don't think you will beat A/C, for cooling. You will only get a small temp. drop as ambient will be to high.
Be an interesting exercise never the less.
Get yourself a waterproof cover for the spare wheel
One is being sorted for me!
Cool video nice update video thanks lee
Thanks mate 👍
What size is the door please?
Brilliant idea ,two doors are better than one darren
Have you got class 2? That motorhomes gotta be over 3.5😅🤷
Nice 👍
I would have gotten the bracket that mounts to steel Bumber..
My spare sits in a cage under the garage, an unnecessary holes on the back. (Same motorhome)
What a great idea, the second garage door!
My scout has 2 garage doors. But yours is a different colour to your motorhome
Your just gonna blow hot air about.
How much is the cost.
What were the manufactures of the motorhome thinking when they designed it with only one garage door? Yeah its definitely made life a lot easier with the two doors now! Can't imagine why anyone would ever only need one door 😆
sure change your oil every year, but changing every fluid is way OTT.
You like Nick frost ❤❤❤
