Pill Millipedes in general are extremely hard to keep as very little is known about their true ideal habitat and diet. There's also the fact that no one's been able to successfully breed them in captivity.
So no venom. When curled up they form the perfect Fibonacci spiral. The green ones are like neon glass. Just beautiful. I would love to own the green ones. One could watch them all day long. They are amazing. Thanks.
Beautiful creatures! the way the segment immediately behind their head is extended at the sides in order to cover the centre of their curled up form is incredible! Evolution is fantastic. They look so designed!
Those neon pill millipedes are stunning. It looks as if the outer shell is translucent and the green colour comes from deeper inside the millipede. Incredible how tightly and perfectly they seal when in a ball.
never seen the green ones before, they r so cool especially when balled up . also, you have a very pleasant , gentle sounding voice, very nice.Thank's 4 the video.
I'm very curious; how are your Green Pill Milipedes doing? I've been interested in them, but most of my leads regarding their care end up with disclaimers detailing how they die relatively rapidly in captivity. Do you still have them? Also: do you know their specific nomenclature?
has there been any breakthrough in pill millipede care? They all have a horrible track record in captivity, to the point where i consider it unethical for any but the most experienced hobbyist to try and keep them. Also glad the vids are back, scorpion feedings please. ;)
The pill millipedes are amazing! I want some, but only if I knew they weren't being removed from the wild, and they aren't available in the U.S. that I know of.
Do these millipedes act a little more docile than centipedes? What do they eat? I am increasingly falling in love with them though I'm not a fan of centipedes and how aggressive/escape-artist-y they are.
I heard that pill millipedes don't survive long in captivity. I think that make it a bit unethical to keep :( but I really wish it were possible. They are just gorgeous.
They are not completely harmless. They have changed in them I've been told although I've free handled them before and never been advised to do otherwise.
these are known as PILL BUGS or roly polys and their definitely not millipedes they are just same class as myriapoda (sorry if spelled wrong) but they are very alike with millipedes
His voice is very relaxing. The pill millipedes are like gems. I hear they are hard to care for and have to be kept kool.
JPs Pet nation then why is keeping them hard? Just don’t use a heater? Right?

Do these millipedes act a little more docile than centipedes? What do they eat? I am increasingly falling in love with them though I'm not a fan of centipedes and how aggressive/escape-artist-y they are.
Millipedes are harmless, centipedes not so much. They eat dead leaves, partly rotten wood and various fruits and veggies.
DictatorKirby thanks, genius, for your invaluable wisdom. I already knew that, but now you can consider me enlightened.
