Love the background music! Also love that it's not so loud that it over powers what you're doing and that it wouldn't cover up your voice if you were to speak. Love the pouch, it's great inspiration for me. I want to make a shot pouch for slingshot ammo and now I have a good idea how to start. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing.
Great little bag for carrying .22 LR in also. Excellent work as always. It's good to see you know how to saddle stitch & showed it up close. I have seen lots of people on UA-cam saying they are saddle stitching & DO NOT do it correctly. If the thread ever breaks on it will unravel on them.
I use a cork yoga block to to the same thing you did with the mailbox. I like the support I get from the block and the tool gos right into the block. I found it a goodwill for like 2 bucks. Amazing job on the bag. Thanks for taking us along 👍.
Beautifully done, as always. I'm working through making ball bags for all my various calibers. I might have to incorporate some of these little details into my next one. I'll need to pick up some spots and try that out.
Thanks! There was a tiny hole drilled through that decorative belt tip that was too small for any of my rivets. Not sure what supposed to go there ... but it's obviously for permanently fasting it. So I had to enlarge it.
Their should have been a small screw that would secure the belt tip, but, I like your way much better. It completes rivets and the project. I like the way you video the build. Showing the highlights and the compete process, not getting stuck on one thing such as sewing. I hate it when someone has a twenty minute video with fifteen minutes spent on sewing up the project. A Big Thank You for that.
I made one of these last year. It is extremely similar, even down to the molded cap tin holder. Mine is kinda standard and not the Deluxe version. This is really well done.
Being heavy into black powder, this shot pouch is outstanding. You need a matching one for the lube and patches. My I copy this. Love the music. Need to turn it up just a little bit 👍👍👍👍👍
So far you are the only person I've seen casing the leather using saddle soap and in a zip-lock bag, I have watched every show you have done so I know you were shown that way when you were a scout. As a total novice, I'm looking at things with fresh eyes so if you don't mind I will share what I've picked up on. As I said I am right at the beginning of this journey so I'm still only making patterns for bags and wallets. Not a huge call for holsters over here in Scotland. From what I've seen so far the saddle soap looks like it's lubricating the leather, probably not the proper term but don't shoot me, please. You are working with leather much thicker than what I will be using so will it still allow me to tool the leather, obviously not to your standard but would your process make the leather overly soft and mushy say if I was using a thinner piece of leather? I love the way your work takes colour and you don't have to beat the siht out of it when you are tooling it and the way the swivel knife glides when you are lining out a pattern. Most of all the others I've seen only use water and I am In no position to critique some master craftsmen's work but it looks like they do have to batter the tools into the piece they are working on. I feel your leather looks more plump than the others and I am attributing that to the saddle soap. Anyway I have said enough tonight so thank you for sharing your craft with us and all the very best from Scotland
Do you ever sell your work? You should think about putting this together in a kit form. I'm sure they would sell like hot cakes. This shot bag is beautiful. and very well done. Love to watch you put things together.
I purchased it from eBay. I tried to get the seller's name for you, but it's been too long and not in my history anymore. But the model numbers are mentioned in the video description.
Beautiful work & craftsmanship as always! Question/suggestion, could you program your lazer cutter to cut the holes for your diamond studs? I like the way you did it tho..!
Lol... i understand, didn't know if you had thought about it. I thought you did your stitch holes at first. I'm not a fan of the round stitch holes... But you ran that cool rivet line.. 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks! The soap lubricants the leather fibers. Makes carving with a swivel knife easier and gives better stamp impressions. Also slows down drying time so you don't have to rewet as often.
It would be a big help to me for you to make a video of you making a mistake beyond repair. Theatrics such as turning over your bench, throwing your project through a window, tools in the trash. Nothing I wouldn’t do. It would help this mere mortal. I will admit, great job as. always. .
The very first clip is me wetting the leather before putting it in the machine. This is mostly to help it lay flat. But also helps some with the scorching. It's also dependent the power settings and the speed of the cut.
Hey! Thanks for subscribing. I got that tip back when I was a kid in the 80s from The Leather Factory (before they were purchased by Tandy). Then I saw a saddle maker's UA-cam channel where they used the same technique. It 'lubricates' the leather fibers -- Makes your swivel knife glide easier, and makes for better stamp impressions. It also slows down the drying process so you don't have to rewet as often. I only do it when I'm tooling a large portion of the surface on a piece of leather.

Completely brilliant

I'm inspired, beautiful work! 13:37 where did you find that beauty if a square? That thing is perfect!
It's a "Thin-Beam Square" from Micro-Mark. I originally bought it for my model ship building.

Where can I order a holster? I can't find a website anywhere. Just some kind of mention on Etsy but no holsters listed.
Espetacular ❤
What is the name of the white adhesive please.
EcoWeld water based contact cement. I purchase it from Tandy Leather.
@@RoadAgentLeather thank you. Haven't seen it before. Looks excellent.
How did you avoid the smoke and bad burn marks on the laser?
The very first clip is me wetting the leather before putting it in the machine. This is mostly to help it lay flat. But also helps some with the scorching. It's also dependent the power settings and the speed of the cut.
@@RoadAgentLeather MInd me asking what type of laser you use?

What's amazing here is that you're holding primers. You got a source for those you can share?
How long do you let the leather sit in the bag after deglazing with the saddle soap?
Only a few hours.
Was that a bar of soap at the start? What soap was it?
Hi. It's glycerin saddle soap.
Me encanto, que hermoso...🥰
Hey buddy where can I buy yours products?
Thanks of watching! I have an Etsy page, but don't currently have any items for sale.
When saddle soaping before tooling, do you ever rinse to remove the saddle soap?
Nope. The soap is what lubricates the leather fibers to give better stamp impressions.
WOW!!!
I am just getting started with my Xtool. Do you have a this pattern available for purchase? Thank you.
Thanks for subscribing! Shoot me an email
¡Amazing video!... by the way, what´s black powder?
Thanks! It's an old style of shooting where you load gunpowder, wadding, bullet, and percussion caps manually.
The spray you were using, just water or a mix of something?
How heavy of leather will the Xtool handle?
I regularly cut 10-oz veg-tan with it. That's the heaviest weight leather I buy. Thanks for subscribing!
Did you use soap to case your leather?!? What's that all about? I've never seen anyone do that before.
Thanks for that info.
What does saddle soap do?
It lubricates the leather fibers to help make better stamp impressions. It also slows down the drying time so I don't have to rewet as often.
What is that hammer you used to secure those pins?
It's just the cheap, little ball-peen hammer from Harbor Freight. They call it the "Watchmakers Hammer with 6 Heads" on their website.
@@RoadAgentLeather got it. Thank you.
Could you make a belt holder for a can of Skoal Mint similar to the holder for the percussion caps? That'd be the bee's knees right there.
lol. I don't chew ... but no reason why you couldn't!
@@RoadAgentLeather Ha, I don't either, but I would start if I had dip can holster with a studded flap. Do you have a website were we can purchase your amazing handcrafted stuff? Thanks for the response.

Great work! Picked up a few tips for my next possibles pouch. What stamps did you use? Really liked the look of them.
Thanks! I listed the stamps in the description.
Beautiful! Question I notice you use Ecoweld and AQ315, do you prefer on to the other? Im looking to switch to one from Barge.
Thanks! They're pretty much interchangeable. Both are much easier to work with than Barge.
What stitching groover are you using to groove out them borders? Top job pal
Thanks! It's a Craftool Pro stitching groover.
👍👍👍
Excellent work! I’ve watched your laser reviews, but which one did you use for this or your preferred machine? I’m in the market for a 20watt diode.
Would love to have this laser file. Do you sell your patterns anywhere online?
Nice! Is that a commercial pattern or your own design?
Thanks! It started as an old Leather Factory pattern. But I've modified it.

Thanks! 6-7 oz veg-tan mainly. The gusset is an oil-stoned hide I picked up a while back. It looks about 4 oz.
