I love this album so much. I remember being 17 in highschool and I only ever heard of my dad and brother talking about Pink Floyd I would never have been able to tell you a single Pink Floyd song or even what Pink Floyd was... But I had a really cool teacher who let us listen to music as long as you got work done. I was thinking what the heck let's look up that band that my dad always talked about with Brandon. I look it up play the first result that came to my screen and that was dark side of the moon. I was going through my little hippie rebellious kid phase and man oh man did that album change my life forever.
@@thelennongilmourchannel thank you for not getting annoyed that I accidentally sent a random nonsense comment while my phone was in my pocket. I updated the comment to tell my story behind this album.
grew up on this album (16 at the moment), been hearing it my whole life from my dad playing it in the car. i used to hate pink floyd up until recently. my dad got cancer and took me to a concert where brit floyd played (a cover band), and it totally changed everything for me. hes fully recovered now. but listening to pink floyd makes me think of then, through all the fear and pain, their music was there for me in spite of everything. my dad isnt the best person in the world, but i still love him, and ill always think of him when i hear this album :)
I remember when this album came out, we were at a friend's house and her brother had just bought it, we smoked some great pot and listened to the whole album it was freaking awesome...
I bought this and Wish You Were Here when they both came out, vinyl. several life times later listening to it from the internet, they have been a constant in my life until it ends.
Truly an album that predicted everything that makes humans lose their minds. Similar to Radiohead OK computer that told us about the prison called technology that’s at the same time, controlling us. This album to this day is still iconic and influential.
