The refinement is good. But X70 still better in all.
Which one is better in your opinion.... mazda cx-5 mid spec or toyota corolla cross high spec?
CX5 is a another segment or another half segment higher than the Corolla Cross. So in terms of size and overall structure the CX5 is more superior. As for specifications it depends on what you need. If the specifications on the CX5 mid spec enough for you then CX5 will be the choice. If you want a more newer model, probably more specification and reliability is a top priority then Corolla Cross. At the end still depends on your preference tho.
cross is a lightweight vehicle.

at around 9:30, you did a 0-100 run. Can I ask if it simulates that gear shift? I thought CVTs don't upshift like that. Does the Cross simulate that type of gear change throughout the drive?
Yes. You will find it more obvious during hard acceleration. Normal drive not so much.

If handling then 100% Altis. It is lower and have better center gravity. But cross might gives a better practicality coz it is an SUV which have higher ride that good for ingress and egress.

It won't under power. But not over power as well 😅. To me the power it's just nice.

If comfortable ride over sporty ride is your priority yes. But for me I like sporty ride a bit more. 😁

Unfortunately most of the POV shot are like this. I will minimized my head movement as much as possible. But sometimes due to driving I need to react fast. Sorry that it makes you uncomfortable.
It should have a more modern look and have chrome slats or . DS7 is a good example.. .
It has another higher variant which has better aesthetic looks.

If compare to HRV, which to recommend?
Good question. If you like a bit luxurious feel and fun to drive, good interior packaging than HRV is the choice. If you are more to family use, carry family most of the time and have a reliability concern than The Cross might the the choice. That is my thought. Hope it helps.

If you are not petrol consumption and reliability concerned then X70. Price and spec wise there is actually no contest.
@@AnthonyLoh thanks for the feedback. Here we are getting the 1.5 turbo 3 cylinder engine for the X70, so another question, do you have any opinion on its reliability? And is it powerful enough for the car especially when fully loaded with people?
@@leonted4290 Undoubtedly the power is more than sufficient. As for reliability that needs to take time. We need to expect more newer technology or specifications will have more stuff to maintain. So far I am not sure how is the reliability goes to be honest. Perhaps you can go to Proton X70 owners group to gather some information.

What do you mean test the car's mileage?

@@timothykuek86 I can't test a full tank mileage in a single test drive session. You can refer to official data of the car petrol consumption. But in real life it won't be the same, as it will depends on few reasons that causes the differences. Such as Driving behavior, traffic conditions, car maintenance (tyre pressure, engine condition etc), usage (traveller with heavy loads all the time?. And etc.

Wind / road noise seems to be quite loud
The wind noise is good below 80kmh. After 80kmh there is a bit more of that (which most of the same segment car has it too). As for road noise it could due to tyre pressure and which brand of tyre used. I found it average in terms of road noise. The good side is the engine noise insulation.

Power X50, Handling XV, comfort Cross. Depends on which one you like. If you wanted a proper package then X50. If you keen more on handling then XV. If you are fully comfort oriented then the Cross will suit you.
