      I agree. My crepes turned out almost like pudding or something. 2 cups of milk to one cup flour, and three eggs? Sounds like too little flour.

      I don't think it matters if you dump all of the flour in or not. She is using a hand held electric beater. As much as I don't want to I will be using my hand held beater next time I make these so the flour and liquid is mixed good.

    Thanks for your question. Mixing the ingredients in one bowl should work OK, just make sure you sift the dry ingredients together first, and beat the eggs lightly before adding to the bowl. Hope that helps!

    That's disappointing, Askgdf Askgdf. We know how frustrating it is to not have a recipe work out. Here are some tips to help you be more successful on the next try.
    If there are too many bubbles, that usually indicates the batter was over-beaten. Creating too much air in the batter will make large air bubbles visible while cooking. Then they'll pop and leave holes or bumps. Not what you want.
    Also, did you let the batter "rest" in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to an hour? Overnight is even better if you can plan ahead. This step is important because it lets the gluten develop and bond with the eggs and milk.
    Some cooks also recommend heating the milk and butter--just to warm--so the butter stays evenly distributed through the batter.
    Do you have a dedicated crêpe pan? One used just for crêpes? They're inexpensive ($20), and their thin, flat surface ensures even cooking.
    Hope these tips help and you try the recipe again. We bet you're going to be a pro at making crepes in no time!

      Allrecipes so can I just put all the flower in at once or gradually doesn't look like you gradually put it in so I guess il put it in fast

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  7 років тому +2

      Good question, Gaming with Niko. Gradually is recommended because it allows the flour to mix more thoroughly with the other ingredients. It won't splash around either. Happy crepe-making!

    Thank you for your question, Rachel. You can certainly make the crepes the night before and keep them refrigerated. Try stacking them between layers of parchment or wax paper for ease. Enjoy!

    I am from Bulgaria, and crepes are like part of our culture you can order them in any restaurant. Back home we call them pancakes.(We do not have the American style pancakes.) I have made crepes before from a recipe given to me by my mom, but Your recipe turned out like the crepes I have eat at restaurants. They TURNED OUT just PERFECT. Thank You. I like mine filled with honey and crushed walnuts.

    Made these today, with goat cheese, strawberries, and berry compote. Delicious! The first ones stuck to the pan, and the butter browned and smoked, so I turned down the heat. After 2 minutes they lifted right off stainless and flipped perfectly. The right temperature is key. Medium high on some cook tops may be too hot. I got 6 out of the recipe, and they were gone in minutes.

      Allrecipes Hi, I was going to make these for mothers day tomorrow. I started reading some of the comments and I read "be sure to let it rest overnight" do i have to do that... PLEASE HELP!

    • @allrecipes
      @allrecipes  9 років тому +1

      Yes, you want to do this, Aubrey Alexander. Sorry if it messes up your schedule. “Resting” the batter allows the gluten to develop, which will improve the flavor and texture. Refrigerate the batter overnight to let it rest thoroughly. This hydrates the flour and also allows the gluten to develop and relax, which will improve the flavor and texture. Hope this helps.
