Yes, the ps2 scene is still alive in 2021 and will for a long time I'm sure. For fat users, this is for you and can't wait when the final version is ready to go public. Enjoy!
While installing opentuna, wil it erase the BOOT folder on my ps2 memory card.
because i doesnt have 2 memory card.
When release OpenTuna for Fat version 😢😢😢
That's awesome! Hopefully it will be released soon!
Thank you👍👍
🔥🎉🤙
Hopefully it'll work on debug stations. We're crossing fingers.
Im so hyped about the mechacon thing, when this will work out we no longer will need modchips that would be fuckign awesome
To play PS1 backups natively you mean?
@@MohamedMohamed-sr9dq Primarily, it can override the disc checks (CD/DVD check, PS2 check, PS1 check, region check, master disc check, wobble check)… No more modchips.
psx-place /threads/possibilities-with-mechacon-code-execution.33113/
@@TobiEstosWorld yo! That would be hella hype!
@@TobiEstosWorld when should we expect this to come out? You've gotten me super excited
@@MohamedMohamed-sr9dq i don't know, when following the dev on twitter doing that, it seems to be pretty early WIP. But better ask on the psx place thread to get more quallified answers, Im also just and enduser watching this, I got no insider infos 😅🙈
Hey I wanna ask something 1. How do you update opentuna 2 will it be better than fortuna in the future and 3 what's the difference between them at the moment
1) Copy latest and overwrite old files. 2) I think so yes. 3) Opentuna supports non magic memory cards, and it can work for slims and future fat. Fortuna is only for slims.
i just bought and repaired a new phat the disc tray was just off got it for 30 bucks it was dirty on the outside but it all works . What i wanna ask is how i get it rady for HDD expansion bay games ? Do i just use free mcboot or what ?
WinHiip is used to copy games from pc to ps2 hard drive, best way via ide to USB adapter.
I have a FAT PS2 with FHDB. Is there any reason I would want to use OpenTuna instead? I save games to the HDD (excluding a few games that can't use VMC's) and not an MC, so the MG memory card limitation isn't really a concern to me.
You are perfectly ok with that setup.
Thanks for stopping by, your work is great and awesome!
@@ProjectPhoenixMedia , thank you for supporting our project with high quality content. Your videos are great and awesome as well.
if it has been released, I will try it on my fat ps2 scph 39000 (1.60) via fake or no magicgate memorycard
You are like ETAPrime but for 90s and 2000s homebrew console
I love ETAPrime, that is a very cool analogy that I never thought of! LOL
My SCPH-30003 R uses ROMVER:0160EC20010704 according to PS2Ident.
Wow I have the exact same PS2 bios I thought I was the only one coz I couldn't even find the dump files anywhere for this version of the PS2
By the way you're better off just using FreeMcBoot I don't really like OpenTuna the thing that shows the corrupted file on the memory card is annoying and also not having the menu
youtube cotillas la vieja del visillo 🤣🤣
Does this have any advantages over FreeMCBoot?
FreeMCBoot requires MagicGate MCs to work, OpenTuna can work on bootleg MCs with no MagicGate support, these ones are quite popular in some countries. In addition, we expect OpenTuna can work on some debug stations which don't have known MC-based entry point.

literally 60 seconds into the video he answers your question
Love the shade man, keep it up
the igr dont work
Best to post on the opentuna forum, I don't really use IGR that much so I can't comment if it got broken later releases or not.
It's need mod chip like matrix
Not quite, if you have an existing method to install homebrew then you are good to go.
