For this video ill be installing a hd grill from a 03-06 gmc sierra 2500 or 3500 truck. Which requires to lower you’re bumper 1 1/2 inches. Sorry for the long video guys.
I didn’t the filler piece stays pretty firm doesnt sag. Although I have heard people using 3mm Double sided tape To keep that filler piece From sagging in the corners
The dude who I bought my truck off of threw a Denali front end and trynna do the hd front bumper and the “three bar” grill like urs but with out that bottom “lip”. Can I slap on both without haveing to cut and weld?
I believe I got it off a 03 extended cab silverado. But I believe any 99 through 07 classic body style would work. And yea definitely needed when doing a major drop.
Tow hooks have always been the issue - some have suggested using HD tow hooks, but I don't know if that will work. I had an 06 Sierra for 12 years before I sold it - good trucks!
@@ramonguerrero9359 there not hooked up to nothing. You can use some 3mm double sided tape to keep em up if it bothers you. Mine are just chilling there
@@romangonzalez5111 That piece is attached to the Grill. And for the sides there just hanging up there. You can use double sided tape to hold the sides up.
This video was just what i needed. Good shit man!
No problem brotha glad it helped!
Every video keeps looking better keep it up 😉
Thanks for the support brotha I appreciate it!
Hell yea been looking for a video like this so I could the hd conversion to my 04 ccsb. 👍🏾👍🏾
Glad it was able to help you out. Let us know how it turns out.
@@differentgarageprojects5656 you think I can do that to my 2002 gmc 1500 ??
@@TeamLocosCustom you have to get a newer style bumper nd hd grill. You will have to weld ur bumper lower
not bad for your first time bro truck looking good bro nice grill bro keep up the great work bro
Thanks brotha and yea definitely gives it a better look.
Looks good bro
Thank you
Got my subscribe nice work
Thank you. Apriciate it
Nice work
Thanks 🙏🏼
Hey brother where did you order the grill from?
Nice job amigo
Thank you.
Grill not cheap lol
Nope its pricey lol bit looks alot better
Did you have to install some kind of brackets to retain the black filler piece on either side of the grille?
I didn’t the filler piece stays pretty firm doesnt sag. Although I have heard people using 3mm Double sided tape To keep that filler piece From sagging in the corners
If I buy the hd grill but without the bottom piece do I still have to drop the bumper frame 2” or Can I just leave it alone?
That’s not a HD grill then. Only HD grills have that bottom piece.
I have a 2005 gmc sierra with the exact same setup and it's not an HD 🤔 (SLT)
is this the same process to do if i put the HD bumper pad for my cateye?
Yeah the process is similar
I have a 1999 sierra 1500 want to do this. Where did you get your parts from? and where do you get brackets from?
My truck is an 05. It comes originally with this front end. Only thing I did here in the video. Was upgrade to an HD grill
Bro if your still out there I need help I’m replacing my front end grill but I can’t find where to mount the top holes
What year truck
Nice work bro. Quick question I got 2004 Sierra 1500 I wanna change my hood to hd would I have to change anything else besides the hood thank you.
Thanks brotha. And Hood is all you need but you do have to cut it where the headlights meet the hood. For the hood to clear.
@@differentgarageprojects5656 thx for replaying so I’m have to get hood from Chevy right then cut it
No problem brotha. Yea 2001-2002 Silverado HD
@@differentgarageprojects5656 Ight bro appreciate it
Where did you get the license plate bracket?
Its the stock one that comes from factory
The dude who I bought my truck off of threw a Denali front end and trynna do the hd front bumper and the “three bar” grill like urs but with out that bottom “lip”. Can I slap on both without haveing to cut and weld?
Bryan Moreno I wouldn’t be able to help you there brother I have never done a Denali front. Don’t know what it involves
Different garage Projects,
would the hd bumper bolt on withought having to cut? like with a regular grill not an hd grill?
Bryan Moreno I would assume it will but then again you don’t know what the other guy did if he had to modify anything for that Denali bumper.
Different garage Projects thanks brother! Nice truck btw
Bryan Moreno Thanks brotha. Sorry I couldn’t be much help.
Did you have to get different support bars for the ones on sides?
I used the same ones. I was just able to bolt up one bolt on the bottom tho.
Great job on video! Thanks!
@@gabrielguzman6026 no problem man. And thank you.
Do you know is they sell the hd strip alone? I cant seen to find one.
The strip is part of the grill. They don’t sell it separately
Thanks man! Ive been searching and hoping to find some kind of bolt on! Thanks for the reply sir!
Can that plastic grill insert be replaced? I found a chrome grill online but the venting is cracked. Thanks in advance 🥃
On the one i have you cant replace it.
So I wouldn’t know if you can do it on other ones
I’m from escalon California I have a gmc 2000 can u put a 2005 front end or a Denali?
Yea either of those is possible. But 05 sierra would be the easiest and cheapest way to go
@@differentgarageprojects5656 how much would you charge to do it
Would this conversion work on a 2000 Sierra?
Yeah anything is possible brotha.
Can you put a Silverado front end on a gmc??
Yea u can just gotta get the whole front clip including radiator support
Do you have a two piece drive shaft on that beauty ??
Thank you and i do.
Wat truck did you get it from or where did you get it from I’m trying to get my truck that low
I believe I got it off a 03 extended cab silverado. But I believe any 99 through 07 classic body style would work. And yea definitely needed when doing a major drop.
Appreciate the info bro
Is that the 2” cowl hood or 4”?
2 inch

We’re you able to keep the tow hooks on?
No i wasn’t. Maybe there’s a way to keep em. But i didn’t bother to be honest.
Tow hooks have always been the issue - some have suggested using HD tow hooks, but I don't know if that will work. I had an 06 Sierra for 12 years before I sold it - good trucks!
I think it might be easier to put a one inch body lift in it and not cut the frame
Yea but honestly if you have a welder its not that bad
Is this the only way to lower it 2 inches ?
As far as i know yes
How does the aftermarket grille hold up ?
So far so good haven’t had any complaints about it yet.

Is this bumper from the HD truck or 03/06?
No it’s a stock bumper that came on my 05. But 2003-2006 sierras all have the same bumper. Only thing that changes is the grill
@@differentgarageprojects5656 thanks didn’t know if there was something different about the HD bumper.
No problem. And yea I believe bumpers are identical only thing different is grill
Where did you get ur hd grill
