6:20 no offense, but if the Ibiza update & MXGP 24 we're any indication, these guys are just beyond saving and instead of actually trying to fix the game & adding up much requested features such as offline mode, they're instead tripling down on their stupidity & locking away more content via Solar Pass
I was speaking more broadly there, not necessarily towards the KT devs in particular but more like a general statement about building a game when you're a smaller crew/studio. Thanks for your comment though! I don't disagree with your assessment.
@@AnotherStarCenturionig, but having their stocks went down to the drano at Ubisoft fast after TDUSC's disastrous launch & MXGP 24 couldn't be anymore served them right
the best thing about this game from not having online play of any kind, is that there won't be any modern gaming woes such as fomo, micro transactions, season passes, and most of all, *no always online even for single player* just like you said and this is coming from a guy whose has since abandoned the whole concept of "miracles" long time ago
In this age of live service flops Genki just suddenly came in after 18 years of slumber Dropped a fully functional game without any online restriction Refuse to elaborate Leave
Seeing as this is releasing as an early access, I hope they can add in multiplayer if it does very well. Which, with the draught we had in racing games, I'm sure this will attract more attention than their previous entries with so much competition back then.
Soleanna: To clarify, adjusting stick deadzone, turning sensitivity, and stick drift is very normal for a lot of racing games that I play (Burnout Revenge, sunny-place, and art of rally). I would hope they have those settings in Modern TXR.
Couldn't believe this was the only video on this channel. Subbed, thank you for your boots-on-the-ground coverage and realistic analysis! Definitely picking this up Day 1, excited about their feedback-centric approach to all this
The funny thing is, the understandables section is exactly that, not only for me, but how I believe game studios should see things. They have a focus. They are grounded in reality in terms of budgets and purpose. I actually love that it is not online for this title due to why. It's a soft reboot where bringing it into a modern setting, it NEEDS to be a bit smaller in scope first. If people like and support, then they can step it up afterward. It's an accurate and calculated move for Genki. They aren't expecting droves of people, and are instead focusing on what this IP means for people as much as they can realistically do for this title. That alone has sold me on this game. Genuinely. I hope for the TXR Drift series to be brought into the modern day as well. I genuinely adore the second one on PS2.
and it doesn't help that whoever pinheads at Nacon/KT Racing aiming their game to competing with GTA VI of all games, which not only being beyond silly is an understatement, it's also giving me Vietnam flashbacks when Ian Bell (ex-Slighty Mad Studios' CEO) saying that F&F Crossroads was aimed to beating what NFS is doing for the next 6 years back when NFS Payback is first revealed
It's crazy they say no cockpit view ,you can see that the interiors are modeled you can see the in dash display through the back window on multiple cars ,and the boost gaiges and roll cage element was awesome in import tuner challenge
For the point about oil and water temperature, they might have it work like Import tuner Challenge where you have to go in the interior customisation and buy the gauges in order for them to show on the HUD.
Everything about this video is amazing, big and little details; it all adds up positively! I can see the potential for this channel and I’m excited! I never subscribed this early to a channel before I’m excited to see what the future brings
They developed this game very briefly so I won’t give them any negative for not having multiplayer and one map. From how quickly the de op ent time was, I’m excited to see what they did
not having multiplayer of any kind is a more than a welcomed surprise in the age when racing games failing one way or another due to the greed & outright stupidity coming from western gaming companies relentless pursuit of live service earnings
Oh thank god, they have an option for a pulled-back camera. Watching the promotional videos for the game, the position of the chase cam is outright nauseating. I was so scared that it would've potentially been the only camera option, at least during the early access period.
Honestely, I don't care if there's no online mode, I just want to have the feeling and handling of TXr zero back with modern graphics ....thanks to Genki to made this happening
and like I said, no online mode means that you won't get any of the modern gaming degeneracy such as micro transactions, fomo, season passes, and most of all, always online even on single player in exchange
They have been very proactive since the Fuelfest showing, gathering feedback and forwarding it to the dev team from what I hear. Very high hopes the full release will hit expectations.
Awesome feedback and great pointers for improvement. Really hoping for more cars in the game aka Hondas but already impressed with some new modern selections already. Hoping they add widebodys in the game and tire size for more creativity. Did you mention if they had the 0-400 or 0 - 1000 meter time attacks? Or engine swaps? Def need those.
Unfortunately I have no clue about any of that. Perhaps it's in there but I didn't want to go back to the main menu to check. Also didn't go too far into the vehicle customization as stated in the vid, so I didn't see if engine swaps are in.
12:05 in the 2024 genki meeting with few selected OG players, one of people who joined that meeting said that the game is using actual vehicle sounds So I'm not quite worried about sounds
Typical japanese style to play safe and focus on what really matters instead of going online and making us anxious about the microtransactions, dlc and such, i do have great expectations about this game and your video i wouldn't disagree on anything, what you said is what i'd say, lets hope that they add the gauges, rain, more cars, rivals and such. Nevertheless, i'm counting the days to buy and play, as you said, it's a legitimate arcade racing game from the 2000's, on 2025.
It took until this video for me to see that there was at least bumper cam. I was not going to even play this game if it only had chase cam. It's kind of crazy how all the footage of this game is in chase cam. I don't even understand how people can play that view. Anyway, I will be taking a look at the file system, and see what I can do about adding Hondas. Plenty of games to grab models from, just have to hope that things are laid out in such a way where the new car isn't a replacement. But much easier, should be adding music from TXR1 and Zero. Hope it doesn't use WWISE.
"Gamepad is sensitive" Well yea if you slap it all the way over the cars going to freak out. Be gentle with it, steady and gentle. XD but overall excited for this, its been YEARS, im almost shaking with anticipation
I should have explained it better in the video, but the TV input lag and the weird thumbstick sensitivity made the game feel weird to play even with very, very slight movements, almost like the deadzone was cranked up and precise input was not possible. That section of the vid was just to drive home the point, but maybe flicking the thumbstick around wasn't the best demonstration, so you'd be correct there. Thank you for your comment though, and hopefully the context has been helpful.
Yes. I apparently showed up right as his interview video was wrapping up, but I didn't recognize them until I later saw myself in his video. Quite hilarious actually.
Not in this game, since there's no built in multiplayer. However, maybe in future entries, they will have the resources needed to make a proper open world style online multiplayer where you can free roam with others without disrupting the single player experience.
