Glad I found this, local garage has had my E220 in 3 times for low boost, black smoke & EML when giving it the full beans. DPF has been 'modified' but fault persisting. Bought my own code reader & this is the code I get. I vac-tested the large actuator capsule today, that's holding pressure. I can't see the solenoid from up top, & I'm not mobile enough to get underneath but certain I can hear air escaping where that filter is located.

Great video. This was easy. Guess what though? I changed this part and then realised the vacuum hose that attaches to the wastegate wasn't attached to the wastegate - So advice to others is to check the hose is actually still attached to the wastegate...They are only push on so can snag and come loose.

I too am doing some research on this, Ive got exactly the same fault as in this video
i have not long paid a garage I know to replace my twin turbo with a brand new/recon warranty unit + manifold studs & gasket + rocker cover gasket & 4 injectors. I now get P226300 but in really weird situations.
Start up and drive off, do nearly 100 miles, up hill, down hill, long up hills, long down hills and no bother (all variations of high boost/high load)
Yet, I then park up for a day, get back in it again, do the same thing again but in reverse and within 15 minutes, high boost & high load, EML on, limp
mode and fuel burn is rediculous.
I end up pulling over, turn it off, turn it on again and its ok for the rest of the 60-70 mile return trip up & down hill on high boost & high load. Driving with limp
mode as per fuel burn, i have to let it reset itself to return the van to a semi economical state.
I think the garage replaced with aftermarket solenoids so im going to get them genuine units and try again.
I think they found this video tbh as they also said they did some research and did a vac test test and didnt detect any leaks.

It might also be worth having the intake system smoke tested to make sure the inlet manifold isn't leaking.

I had this same issue for a while and the garage couldn’t fix it. After about 6 months it was due for an MOT and it failed due to an oil leak. The oil filler neck connection at the engine was faulty and loose causing the oil leak which I think was also causing a vacuum leak in the engine. The filler neck was repaired and the fault code never returned (I would go into limp mode pretty regularly). Just an idea for those who are having trouble resolving this.

    Hello
Thanks for this helpful video, it is slowly putting me in the right direction I think.
My pressure does not hold even when you clamp off that line as you have done in this. I pump direct into the black plastic distributor, and instantly pressure is lost.
    Any ideas? Thank you

If all the lines out of the accumulator are blocked off it should hold pressure, if it doesn't that would indicate the accumulator has a leak.

@@MJF85 So in this video where you're testing the pressure, the air filter is incorporated into the vacuum, and is holding pressure?

I have the same engine in 2015 , am in mission of hunting down p02a7 for months now , I wonder if you come across this kind of code , it does say cylinder4 fuel trim at min , I swapped injector3 with injector4 still does say p02a7 every now and then , the strange thing is the code will not come straight away though , after sometimes will show up but as soon as you delete code you can drive with now issue at all , but code randomly will pop back in , its really had given me a headache , injector 3 was refurbished injector but it was on this van for over 2years now , when I replaced it back then , I didn't do any coding but it was working perfect without any coding and no engine check light back then ! , I tested the vacuum following your method in this video it does hold vacuum very well with no issue so am pretty sure no vacuum leaks , I have taken intake manifold last month to find out about that bolt snapping on these engines , couldn't find any problem , changed o2 sensor with no luck , but am still suspecting the o2 sensor because when the engine is running if you disconnect the o2 sensor no code will be come on , as if its already connected !!! its strange to me , your opinion will be appreciated it .. Thanks in advance mate

Now with new turbo I get juddering especially noticeable going up hill but no eml no low boost etc what I have noticed is the actuator moving up and down when on idle and was wondering if the vacuum pipe or solenoid was at fault have you experienced anything like this

It could work but the system is designed for vacuum rather than being pressurised, I don't know wether pressure would damage the seals in the solenoids or damage the diaphragm in the actuators.

Hi, how many of these solenoids are there on the om65 ? i have a c220 cdi with the same code p226300, some times i get a different code that says faulty boost control b is faulty. now i have noticed i have 2 similar solenoids one in front of the engine close to the water pump and the other is tucked under egr and closer to the brake booster. which one of the 2 did you need to change ? the big turbo actuator gets its vacuum from the one under the egr on my car.

Hi. I changed both the solenoids. And checked all the hoses, no leaks. But when i clamp the hose as you do, the car goes much better, to a point at 90km/h and then limp mode.. the car drives better when the hose i clamped, but the P2263 error is still there.
    What can be wrong here?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @MJF85
      @MJF85  3 місяці тому

It's not a good idea to drive it with the hose clamped, it could cause too high boost pressure.
Hard to tell without seeing it and diagnosing, ideally needs a vacuum tester to test everything moves as it should, possibly smoke test to check for leaks.

Possibly. If the ports of the tanks are fully sealed off it should hold a vacuum. I'd start testing each part for leaks starting at the turbo/wastewater and working back, that way as soon as the system doesn't hold a vacuum you know its the last part you've tested

It should hold vacuum on the inlet port, there are 3 ports, an inlet, outlet and vent, the inlet should be closed when turned off/disconnected from the electrics. Ideally you need a mityvac to test it.
