Every community has unsung heroes, these individuals don’t do it for the praise or for the recognition - they do it simply because it makes a difference for people in their communities. In Gawler we are blessed to have many individuals going above and beyond for our community and we want to give them thanks.

The 2024 awards and winners that will be presented at the 2024 Australia Day ceremony are:
• Citizen of the Year - Joint winners Ann McGonigal and Jayne Polito
• Young Citizen of the Year - Jade Hancock
• Corporate Citizen of the Year - Damian McGee (The Exchange Hotel)
• Community Event of the Year - Villawood Gawler Christmas Parade 2023
• Community Group of the Year - Willo's Men's Shed
