I was gonna do the standard Quandry route as my first 14'er, but things changed, now I'm doing Kelso ridge tomorrow as my first. Is the West Ridge harder or easier? Would that be good to do nerxt? I don't have real climbing experience so I would like to avoid class 4 and 5....
Hey, I went up Kelso on this same day. I would have recognized you and said hello had I seen you. How many people were on Grays and Torreys? With all the cars on the road there must have been hundreds. I think I'll have to hit my remaining 14ers in the winter. Those crowds make me sick.
Awesome Video! My profile picture is the view on top of Grays peak! I did Grays last month. I had altitude sickness so I didn't have the chance to go to Torreys. Could you do Longs Peak. I am doing the Cables Route ( 5.4 climb to the summit of longs) next month!
I would first like to say I love your blogs. You do a fantastic job at providing great info on your hikes and climbs!!! I am from Iowa but I've been coming out to Colorado once or twice a year for the last 5 years. However, only the last couple years have I really got into hiking up some routes on the 14ers. I attempted Torrey's last summer, but because of a late start(@930am) and early afternoon storms in the summertime. I wisely turned around as the system was rolling in just before the summit. I would say I'm pretty novice overall. Just wanted to ask you how approachable the Kelso Ridge route is for a beginner?? I'm in great physical condition, but in that doesn't always make up for experience on a tough route... what are your thoughts??

We are considering doing this climb this summer. Last year we did the Decalibron Loop, but we're looking for more scrambling and a bit of a challenge. Would you recommend this or any other fourteeners? Thanks! Great content.
This is a great introduction to class 3 scrambling with exposure and not a lot of commitment. I highly recommend this climb to people wanting to move on from class 2 14ers
Love your videos! I'm at 12 peaks total and have only done one minor class 3. I want to get into more of it and you seem to have a good knowledge of the peaks. What order would you recommend I do the following in, to get used to class 3 routes: Kelso, Longs (keyhole), Wetterhorn, Lindsey (ridge), Sneffels (ridge)? Any input would be awesome! Thanks! - Rebecca (RJ_Greenhorn24 on 14ers.com)

Some of the exposure scared me. But fun. This was my second 14er ever. A friend said lets do kelso i said sounds like fun.
I climbed Kelso Ridge on 7/20/17. It was my 2nd Class 3. Beautiful video. Thank You
This is gonna keep me in such great shape! Thanks Chad
No problem!
Excellent job showing this route!
Thank you!
Great video! Thanks for sharing. We are doing Grays and Torreys this September.
Thanks for watching! Did you end up hiking them?
Hope you are ready for this summer and lots of 14ers
I should finish this year!
If you like this route do the west ridge of quandry. Another excellent "sporty" scramble.

I'm sure we will run into each other on the trail one day soon!

Why would you do longs peak if you couldn't do Grays and Torreys?
Andrew Clark I was feeling sick on Grays. And I did summit Longs
You lie son
