Pretty convinced that dog owner was Martin Simon and it was one of his many unsuccessful murder attempts upon you. Hence his ignorance and no apology. Great video! Looked like a truly gorgeous walk. One of my favourite toys was a playset called Tootsy Town. Kinda like flat cabbage patch dolls living in a plastic facade existence, creepy, but I loved it. "The happy town where everyone's your friend"
Coincidentally also on the 'changing faces' theme: I had the Barbie family, which was Barbie and her 3 sisters ranging in ages from 4 to 17. I discovered that with a bit of force you could pop their heads off and swap them round. I also liked to play 'Casualty' with my dolls, drawing wounds on them with felt-tip and running them over with my toy Landrover. One time I was reaching under my bed for a pen I'd dropped and out rolled a Barbie head with all its hair chopped off, felt-tip injuries and a spider crawling on it - it scared the s**t out of me. I realise all this makes me sound like a psychopath, but I am not one and am actually remarkably well adjusted.
Haha your comment reminded me of my Barbies and their horrific lives, spent getting chewed by my dog, and then having prosthetic limb replacements made out of cardboard by me. Reckon our barbies would’ve got on with each other really well, what with their shared history of horrible accidents. Also had “barbie Kruger” who had her face mashed by my toy-mauling pup, and was therefore renamed due to her likeness to Freddie. Unfortunately I couldn’t make a prosthetic replacement for her face, and sadly didn’t know your head swapping trick at the time. Poor old Barbie Kruger. 😢

Thanks for that great insight into an area I was planning on exploring a bit at the end of last summer but never got around to it. ..'Hoping to have a walkabout there in the next few days along the coast, see the trees graveyard and up to Newtown creek from the less accessible side. My only concern now ...is stumbling across man with spotty pants and his slobbery dog!
Dogs and owners eh? To quote Mike The Cool Person from The Young Ones ‘If you can't keep control of your socks, you shan't be allowed to have any! By the way, are you learning any piano chords at the moment? If so, how many? Nice walk. I proudly used my lovely new green T shirt at the weekend on a section of The Cotswold Way. Along it was the actual hill they use to roll that giant cheese and fools throw themselves down there to be the first to get it. Man, it was beyond steep!
The T-shirt looked cool. I am hoping to do the Cotswold Way sometime this year soon. I am learning the piano using Alfred's Basic Adult Piano Course and also the Complete Keyboard player by Kenneth Baker. Hope the Costwold Way is good.
That was a nice walk Marek. Apart from the 'Walk-Spoiler / Spacer Invader' people. There's more to that than meets the eye. 🤔 Was he the 'Landowner' & was he spying on you, trying to get you to move on? He could see you were having a Picnic, why not just smile & walk past & leave you alone? 😳 Common sense & courtesy would tell you to put your Dog on a lead if people are around having food. 😡 Don't let it bother you, these people don't know any different ! 😆 My favourite toys were my Star Wars figures. Had hours of play with those. 😊👍 Keep up the great videos Marek.
Thanks cool dude. I was a big fan of Star Wars Figures too. I had one that looked like a turd in an orange suit. He was my favourite. I can't remember what he was called.
Oh my....just got back this morning from a week on IOW & did part of this walk! Even saw that Sea Shanty Yarmouth poster on the way & guess what song we all started to sing...yep, none other than What shall we do with a Drunken Sailor! Great minds eh? As for dogs, my other family members absolutely love them to pieces & have spent most of the week stopping every dog of every breed along the way for a tickle. Me? NO! Tried to get to Bembridge beach, but it seems most of the IOW at the mo is being dug up by men in hard hats & viz jackets. Couldn't negotiate how to get down there, followed diversion signs & ended up behind a huge truck which was stuck in the tiny car park at the Crab and Lobster wondering how the hell we were going to get out of there! So didn't get to see much of your hometown this time round! Fave Toy? Sweetshop, every Xmas morning except for the one I passed out flat aged 5 with the mumps whilst opening it..... x J x
I like dogs (well big dogs - not the small yappy ones - although I like sausage dogs), I think it is the owners that are the problem. I am glad you enjoyed your holiday. Bembridge is inundated with Wight Fibre people. Hopefully this will be mean I don't have to wait ten hours for a video to upload on the 1 megabyte a second speeds.
It would be interesting to see you re do the around the Island walk again (perhaps in a clockwise direction this time) and maybe look at alternatives routes to avoid the built up areas ? Just a thought. Scalextric probably 🏁 Another fab walk !
My favourite toy was super flight deck, though I only had it for six minutes until my dad fired it into a door handle at 200 miles an hour, obliterating it. It never quite had the elegance once it was glued back together…
I had that toy too. My box room bedroom was opposite the bathroom so I used to fly my Buccaneer up along the nylon line towards a hook fitted above the bathroom door. No one seemed to need the bathroom until I set that toy up, then everyone wanted to use the bathroom one after another and they all moaned about my toy getting in the way. Spoilsports
I understand this horror only too well. My Mum chucked out all my Star Wars and transformer toys. I had a big Boba Fet toy too. Every so often I look them up on ebay and feel sick.
Before you showed the water colour I was thinking you should have done a picture of them standing there, though admittedly difficult with the dog situation. I absolutely love the picture, and you made it look much nicer than the still it came from. I mainly had toy cars as a child, but I hated people in them so if the car came with a person in the driver's seat they would always get ripped out (something to do with it being MY car so I'LL drive it, perhaps). I remember a friend of mine had a massive box of 'light infantry men', small rigid plastic figurines of soldiers with raised guns, all of them identical, I could see no point in their existence, one day we burnt the box and melted quite a lot of the figures in front of his gas fire in the front room, then realised how much smoke hung in the air just before his mum came in. Not a good idea, don't do that kids.
I remember having a whole load of plastic Allies v Germans figures. I think the Allies were green and the Germans were grey. We used to set them all up in battalions and have them fire at each other. Then one birthday I got Crossbows and Catapults, possibly the greatest ever game.
I watched this earlier before work(I'm about to do my second nightshift of three in a row). I'm still buzzing after Friday so that's keeping up my morale. 😁 That looked like a great walk apart from the dog slob and harassment .😒🤢 My fave toy as a kid was the mighty lights alive. I also had loads of barbie and Sindy's which I made little clothes for. Hmm, sounds familiar...
@@cdwcthis sounds like the very prize for me! Perhaps I will make a small financial contribution to your next political campaign if things go well. 😉 😉
👾 "Rearrange your face" - ha ha ha ha! I missed the walkers handbook and walk rating system. Rude people could be added to the next version of the handbook - too negative?
Around 4% of my encounters with dog walkers are very similar to that one. I'd like to do the Isle of Wight coast walk, is it the kind of place where people get upset about a little tent pitched a bit off the path?
I just could not get over the bloke literally stood right in front of me and shouted for five minutes in a completely empty field. It must be some weird inbuilt alpha male thing. I think you could wild camp the island if you gave yourself a bit of time to find the space. The bit between Seaview to Cowes on the East side would be a bit trickier as it is much more densely populated.
Hmmmm one of my favourite toys was this little doll that was kind of like woody from toy story in that it had a plastic head heands and feet but cloth body arms and legs. Her name was the same as mine and thats why my mom got it for me. Also a stuffed black cat named Coal, and a gummy bug oven thing. ALSO my draginball z action figures for sure. and pokemon as well. and sailor moon dolls. okay im done.
I did this walk a couple of weeks ago whilst visiting my mum on the I.O.W. Started in Freshwater , completed the walk and ended back in Yarmouth having just missed the bus. A lovely walk beyond the tree graveyard. Highlight was observing a minutes silence at the Cool Dudes Sandwich Memorial trough. Sadly , some miscreant had stolen the brass plaque put up by the IOW council to mark the rape and consumption of the sandwich. How low can you get. I suggest the council not use brass next time as just too tempting to low life.
Shame you had to deal with the BMW driver walker equivalent on your hike, as it looked like a nice few hours stroll, but then I suppose this helps with the training what with you being part of the Liechtenstein Guard. With regard to favourite toys, as I am a child of the 70s, that would have to be my action man/Bionic man stuff which I have attempted to rebuy over the years for my collection of interesting stuff, to say the prices now are expensive for them would be an understatement but I cannot keep away from them whilst looking on eBay and the like.
I have been trying to rebuild my Fighting Fantasy book collection on ebay too. I won't pay anything above £7.99 which makes it almost impossible to get the good ones.
I still remember picking up `The warlock of firetop mountain` back in the day from one of those book catalogues you got at school for about 99p. Just had a look on eBay, and bloody hell those prices are shocking for the very same book.
I'm actually fuming on your behalf re. The Dog Man. Grrrrr!! People who can't or won't control their dogs should ALL be put in The Cool Dude Watercolour Hall Of Shame. Not toys as such, but when I was little I had 2 Golliwogs, which are now understandably illegal, but which I loved very much. They were sicked on more than once, because they were always by my side. Very comforting they were.
Lego. Always Lego. Bad encounters with dogs are massively outnumbered by good ones, but it's the bad ones that you remember. I'll never forget the time I found myself literally eye to eye with a Great Dane that had reared up and put its front paws on my shoulders. I'm 6'1". The owner didn't apologise for that either.
What a shame about that man and his dog. It seems some people don't realize their actions affect others. Selfish?.....ignorrant?.....or just bloody mindedness? Oh well at least a good, interesting walk. By the way ........saw you in the series on Netflix...The Pentaverate. So still work coming in 😀👍
@@cdwc Aww. Maybe it will lead to more work and hopefully more spoken lines. I'm finding it hard to find work still, was wondering about trying to register as an extra myself any advice? All the best. David
When man with dog stood in front of you the best action you could take is move just in front of him with a massive sulky face. Its the only way they learn mate. 😄👊👊 Cheers Marek. All the best 👍
I wish I could somehow show how massive and empty the field was, and what a weird decision it was to stand two metres directly in front of me and start shouting to his friends who were further away than I was. I think it might be some in built deep resentment that someone else was enjoying themselves in peace, and he had to put a stop to it. I should have just asked him 'Why the f**k are you standing in front of me, when I am sat trying to eat my lunch in a completely empty field?'

A fact filled fest of an amble, which I am assuming, was going so well that the book author was also the dog owner, seeking to destroy your fun? Childhood toy was the Matchbox Race n Chase car game for families that couldn't stretch h to a Scalectrix. Hours of fun speeding a race car in a figure of 8.....
You are right maybe it was an agent sent by Martin Simon. I had a Scaletrix. The problem is that one car was always faster than the other. I wonder if anyone ever had perfectly equal cars so you could have a fair race.

Glad you enjoyed it cool dude.
My favourite toys were my Smurf collection. I played with those until I was blue in the face.😝
Yes I really liked Smurf’s too. My favourites were one on the telephone and one with a walking stick and a bandaged foot.
@@cdwc my favourite was gift Smurf as he had a massive gift wrapped item in his hand.
Did the Chantry Hill Circular with my brothers today on your recommendation, incredibly good walk thanks
Excellent. I am so glad you enjoyed it.
Love your videos. Just one problem.....they are not long enough. Plus an oscar winning performance in the Pentaverate.
Ha. The videos feel long when you have to watch them over and over again in the edit.
nice 1 cool dude
I am sure that, had the man and dog been alone, their bodies would have been claimed by the tide... But you contained yourself!
I might not have gone that far. Ha. The dog was quite cute.
Favourite toy: Lego all the way! I made spaceships, Moonbase Alpha, the Tardis control room... great times.
Teddy bears all the way. I would take my favourites to dine in a small red tent in the back garden. Joys of being an only child.
Imagine being the poor unloved teddy who would never get to go on the garden picnic. Poor sh*t teddy.
@@cdwc oh my God, I'm a monster. 😳
Rewatching June ‘24
I might do the reverse coastal walk on a ten year anniversary after I have exhausted all the islands walks.
Spoilsports
I always wonder what the record time is of someone receiving a toy to it being broken. Six minutes must be pretty close.
@@cdwc I remind my Dad about it every Christmas when he asks what I want. Still bitter after 45 years…
I loved the Star Wars toys and collected loads. When I went to University, Mum decided that my toys were childish so threw them all away. Twat!!
That looked like a great walk apart from the dog slob and harassment .😒🤢
My fave toy as a kid was the mighty lights alive. I also had loads of barbie and Sindy's which I made little clothes for. Hmm, sounds familiar...
Maybe Mini Marek will become everyone’s favourite toy of 2022!
Maybe Mini Marek will become everyone’s favourite toy of 2022!
@@cdwc Hehe!
No strawberry laces? Phew I am so glad I didn't win this week! 121 over and out.
Next time it will be 1,000 packs of Strawberry Laces.
@@cdwcthis sounds like the very prize for me! Perhaps I will make a small financial contribution to your next political campaign if things go well. 😉 😉
Cool walk. Its a shame that man and his dog ruined your lunch.
My favourite toy when I was younger was a Starship Enterprise that fired round disks.
That was a cool toy. I was never a big fan of Star Trek though.
Great video Marek, shame about your lunch! Is that worth any points in the book?
Alas a sabotaged lunch is worth no points.
👾 "Rearrange your face" - ha ha ha ha! I missed the walkers handbook and walk rating system. Rude people could be added to the next version of the handbook - too negative?
I took all the minus points out of the second edition as it was too hard to calculate. I will consult everyone before the next edition.
My Ghostbuster figures and ecto 1.
The Real Ghostbusters was a cool spin off. I had the sticker book, but gave up when I realised to would cost a million pounds to complete it.
@@cdwc Thanks for the info cool dude👍 I'm ok with a couple of nights in B&Bs, it's just nice to do things as cheap as possible. Love the painting btw
Ha. Cool toys.
Did you buy the copper chest 🤣
Maybe if it was £6.80.
I was talking about that bloke with the dog. the other day.
On the bright side, it did look like a pretty bad lunch anyway 😶
I'm actually fuming on your behalf re. The Dog Man. Grrrrr!! People who can't or won't control their dogs should ALL be put in The Cool Dude Watercolour Hall Of Shame.
Not toys as such, but when I was little I had 2 Golliwogs, which are now understandably illegal, but which I loved very much. They were sicked on more than once, because they were always by my side. Very comforting they were.
I remember when they were on the side of Golden Marmalade up until the mid 80's I think.
Starwars and train set but more fun was sports stuff football cricket ect
I was into American Football when I was a kid, and getting a child size football I could throw properly was almost impossible.
I grew up with a Great Dane so have a fair idea of how terrifying that can be.
Definitely He-man, apart from that Mossman, or whatever he was called, absolutely stank of patchouli
Merman? Was it Merman? He was my favourite.
What a shame about that man and his dog. It seems some people don't realize their actions affect others. Selfish?.....ignorrant?.....or just bloody mindedness?
Oh well at least a good, interesting walk.
By the way ........saw you in the series on Netflix...The Pentaverate. So still work coming in 😀👍
Yes filmed the Pentaverate last year. It was only a couple of days. Pretty much a glorified extra.
Cheers Marek.
@@cdwc i always end my case when ranting like this with the one word... "People!!!!!" 😄
Its an odd world mate that's for sure. 😄 Nothing a Strawberry Liquorice Boot Lace cant fix though eghhhh. 🙂
See you soon... take care 👍👋😎👋😎👋
Should have let the dog eat your aero, that would have taught them a lesson.
I did not even think of this clever plan.
im so angry about that guy and his dog, seriously, actually raging about it.
I am still angry a month later.
@@cdwc don’t blame you
A fact filled fest of an amble, which I am assuming, was going so well that the book author was also the dog owner, seeking to destroy your fun? Childhood toy was the Matchbox Race n Chase car game for families that couldn't stretch h to a Scalectrix. Hours of fun speeding a race car in a figure of 8.....
You are right maybe it was an agent sent by Martin Simon. I had a Scaletrix. The problem is that one car was always faster than the other. I wonder if anyone ever had perfectly equal cars so you could have a fair race.
@@cdwc was always the same...... if you knew which car to choose you were guaranteed a win.
It’s not the dog that’s stupid, it’s the owner who is inept. Bad owner.
Yes, I quite liked the dog until it slobbered up my arm.
you'll get 50 quid for that chest from the scrap yard
I'm going to start a copper chest factory.
Never stupid or bad dogs....ALWAYS stupid and bad dog owners!😊
427 for first
I’m actually sitting here feeling secondary anger from your dog/horrible man incident. Unbelievable.
You should be getting paid by the Isle of White tourist board dude, I’m actually kinda thinking about visiting the place after seeing how beautiful it is in your vids and that is not something that has even nearly entered my head before.
I should be awarded the freedom of the Isle of Wight. Or even better a free bus pass. (It is too expensive).
