I appreciate this tools existence, but ASA like ASE doesn't need an entirely separate copy of the server software for each map. You can run all the maps from the same install provided you plan on keeping the same server settings across them all. I do hope they update to support this, to make it easier for people who want to host their own clusters without using a lot of disk space, So, for now I will just stick to using batch files for launching my servers.

Does the hosting company offer a webadmin page to limit where you can RDP from (trusted IP/network address)? Raw RDP access open to any source IP could be a vulnerable attack surface. If they do great, would then use windows firewall to further lock down access to ports Ark server needs to further harden the server and reduce attack vectors against the system. Just the paranoid part of me seeing many organization terminal server get compromised over years. Seems like a good option though. Guess it works better than Nitrado?
So I have followed all of your guides on how to do this, and they are great, love them! Was easier for me to just make the $500 purchase for a server from a local university that was upgrading, and then just setting it all up. This new tool does seem easy and convenient, but screw windows for servers.
Singleplayer works just like in Ark Survival Evolved. You do not need to set up a server to play singleplayer. This guide is only for settings up a server for playing with friends/other ppl in general.
My ports are open, server shows up in the server browser. My friend times out when connecting. The server is allowed through my firewall and my ISP is Spectrum if that sheds any light
Is this for setting up unofficial servers or just non dedicated? I am mainly wondering because I was thinking about buying a server computer but really just wanted unofficial not non dedicated because of the population issues.
@@NOOBLETS We did, we’ve ran ASM for years and having issues. Lan is fine but nothing outside our network😢 we set ports to the 7777 and 27015 - ports forwarded. ASA has access through firewall. Connection times out… any help would be appreciated.
I am going to give this a try. I have an old PC that I want to host from, so I can play by myself on my own local server (singleplayer is riddled with bugs, I can't even begin to deal with them) So will this tool automatically allow me to connect to the server from my gaming PC on the same local network? I don't really care about opening it up for ANYONE to be able to play with me, I don't have any friends that play and my schedule is so varied it just wouldn't be manageable for me. I just want to play the game I spent money on without having to fork over more money to Nitrado to play by myself.
Same I just wanna play ark I use to just host off my pc and join off my Xbox now there is no dedicated option so I can’t and my brain can’t comprehend all these complicated videos
Hmm, I followed all the steps but when I run the server I dont get the command window showing the server running, it doesnt start. Any suggestions? EDIT: I had to get the latest VC++ redistributable from the Microsoft site
You are Awesome mate.. But 1 Question... Can anyone find my server without knowing the name? Like will it pop up on a list of open servers players can join.. As I remember ASA servers hosted by players used to be hidden by filter where you had to spell corectly at least 3 letters and click the search filter again to find your server.
Oh no the issue now is the filter "show player owned servers" its off by default... so Nitrado can get all the natural population growth... so good luck...
I recently started playing on an ASA server that is NOT on Nitrado. It is on a private server, and I found it by just randomly searching for a server that had the The Center map. I didn't even know it was a non-Nitrado server until I posted in their Discord, and they mentioned it was Not nitrad server
So I've ran into a "bug" in the server search filter..... and I'm being polite by calling it a bug, because it's hard not to think it's completely intentional. So even with the "show player owned servers" box checked, it's not showing you all of the non-Nitrado servers.... you have to type part of the name of the server to search it, and oft times have to hit refresh to get the results to even show...... this seems to be the Snail/Nitrado alliance punishing anyone who doesn't wish to do things *their* way.

I haven't played ASA and haven't been keeping up with the news, is this the ONLY way to play Singleplayer?
Singleplayer works just like in Ark Survival Evolved. You do not need to set up a server to play singleplayer. This guide is only for settings up a server for playing with friends/other ppl in general.
Hey. Do you have to setup server ports on your router?
My ports are open, server shows up in the server browser. My friend times out when connecting. The server is allowed through my firewall and my ISP is Spectrum if that sheds any light
Try opening DMZ on whatever your hosting on
So will this work for thows like me and my friends on xbox can we do this and cunakt to it throw are xbox
Is there any RCON tool to send commands into my server that its free?
what would be a minimum spec pc to run a server?
Is this for setting up unofficial servers or just non dedicated? I am mainly wondering because I was thinking about buying a server computer but really just wanted unofficial not non dedicated because of the population issues.
This is for unofficial
i cant find my server on my xbox and i turned on crossplay what do i do
Why doesn't my server show up and how to add mods? Thanks for this video.
I have ark ascended only on ps5 but i need to make server how?
anyone here having issues when friends try to join, they can see the server but it times out
Call your Internnet porvider and they will turn of the firewall settings so it will work then.. that was my problem too
you opened your router ports?
Yeah my router ports are open
@@NOOBLETS We did, we’ve ran ASM for years and having issues. Lan is fine but nothing outside our network😢 we set ports to the 7777 and 27015 - ports forwarded. ASA has access through firewall. Connection times out… any help would be appreciated.
Having the same issue. I can join but friend gets timed out. Everything port forwarded. Did you find a fix?
i want to set player max level to 44 but cant fine how can you help me
Has anyone installed a custom map like Amissa using this tool? I’m having trouble.
I am going to give this a try. I have an old PC that I want to host from, so I can play by myself on my own local server (singleplayer is riddled with bugs, I can't even begin to deal with them)
So will this tool automatically allow me to connect to the server from my gaming PC on the same local network? I don't really care about opening it up for ANYONE to be able to play with me, I don't have any friends that play and my schedule is so varied it just wouldn't be manageable for me. I just want to play the game I spent money on without having to fork over more money to Nitrado to play by myself.
Same I just wanna play ark I use to just host off my pc and join off my Xbox now there is no dedicated option so I can’t and my brain can’t comprehend all these complicated videos
Superb Tutorial Bro
I havent had a chance to watch the video yet is it crossplay?
How do you add Aberration? It doesn't seem to appear by default
I’m having this issue too, created the server and it says it’s ready but I can’t see it, but I can see my other servers
Hmm, I followed all the steps but when I run the server I dont get the command window showing the server running, it doesnt start. Any suggestions?
EDIT: I had to get the latest VC++ redistributable from the Microsoft site
glad you got it working ;)
REM These steps will walk you through creating a .bat (aka batch file) that you can run to copy files
REM and folders from one location to another. It also adds a time and date stamp to the end of the resulting folder.
REM Right click on your desktop and select "New" then "Text Document".
REM Copy everything below from "echo off" to the end of the text and past it into your new Text Document.
REM Edit the last xcopy line. Add the original/source folder path between the first double quotation marks.
REM Add the target/destination folder between the second double quotation marks.
REM Save the file for the first time, selecting short name describing the purpose (e.g. Copy Forglar Saves.bat).
REM Ensure the file name ends with .bat instead of .txt. This is what makes it an executable bat (batch) file.
REM Double click on your new .bat file to copy everything from the source to the destination.
REM Depending on your source and destination folders you may need to right click on your new bat file and "Run as Administrator".
REM ========================== BATCH FILE CONTENTS BELOW ==================
echo off
SET MM=%date:~4,2%
SET DD=%date:~7,2%
SET YY=%date:~12,2%
SET YYYY=%date:~10,4%
Set HR=%time:~0,2%

Can i simply use my 2nd pc for that ? I have an windows 10 32gb with intel 12900 and 3080 gaäraficcard. Or does it habe to be a vps
Yes!
server files have been avail for months NOTrado is trash we dropped them a few weeks into release
Could you run it on a NAS
How do you change a non dedicated server password on xbox
You're much better off just leaving a spare home computer online at all times.
Kan it for ps5 want I don’t have ark on pc
Will the server be crossplay?
You can run it on your own computer
How to get mods in the server?
Good job man!
i keep getting an error when i go to update game files
has the server been up and running before?
If your error is the Update Error (followed by a long string of numbers starting with 21) then try installing the DotNet9 SDK from the official microsoft website. The updated downloader requires this and this is not included in the standart Win10/Win11 install.
does ths work if you do it on your own computer
on a spare pc, not the one you game on
Fight the power. Screw Nitrido
does this allow crossplay?
Mine says failed to open descriptor file../../../shooter game/shootergame.uproject any ideas
Why is my comment removed when I suggest a different solution that makes it accessible to more people?
UA-cam bots incorrectly flagging and removing comments....... it seems to happen more often if you're using an ad blocker of any sort.... I speak from experience here lol. It's not Nooblets trying to censor you, it's just this garbage platform.

lol as you can see by my reply above, I had to alter my reply a bit so they would stop deleting it..... took me 3 tries. 😅
Ooof and it still gets deleted...... in a nutshell though, it's youtube bots deleting your comments, they suck...... it's not the content creators trying to censor you, just this platform....... make sure to thank them xD
do i need to own the game and download it to my computer?
not the server one no
@@NOOBLETSjust tried this and the sever cant get past the updating part gives a exit code 2147450730 not sure what to do

I feel so dumb, i dont understand any of this :'(
Bro when tf did vps’s get soooo damn expensive what is that lol
Seriously, used to be $7.99! Then again, what isn’t?
Would love to but im on console and nitrado has been fantastic!
How does it save
it doesnt you have to back up the files yourself
LETSSS FUCKING GOOOOOOOO
I'm sure they will put an end to this, sooner than later. greed knows no bounds.
How can you set a password for the server?
its on one of those past video I did
Do 1 for xbox
I don’t think Xbox can make servers
wtf is this. They added trains to ark? Might actually worth buying it now
Only if you pay for the additional $41 DLC....
Till that servers not work and you have the same problem.
