@@MarkSundin Fantastic! I saw one from a distance not long ago in Auckland. I might be #11 as I feel I like more fast sea kayaks than surfskis, and I discovered kayak sailing as well. Best to use the sail whenever it is possible and keep energy for when it is needed. Safer when paddling long distance too.
Great video Mark, I want to go for a sail!. Mast looks rock solid, any tips to share on this? My FES has a bit of a slight lean in strong wind, I’ve got same side and back stay setup as yours and the tension in the lines seems ok. Can I ask what knot types you use ?Regards
@@markb2396 Any knot that doesn’t slip and can adjusted. In the video Todd has carefully set some bowlines. Various hitches work pretty well and are easier to adjust but more prone to stretch or collapse. The key is to readjust and be willing to keep readjusting until all the stretch is taken out of the system. Small clips through loops on the deck allow you to set and forget so that’s my personal preference.
Looks awesome! Comparable to the videos of guys crossing the atlantic in canoes.
Nice going! Good on ya😊
Great video! Love the colour of the kayak, very unique. I believe there is one Audax in NZ.
Actually mate there are more like 10….!

you need a bigger jib sail.
Any bigger than the new Footloose Max sail and this would probably have been downright scary. So probably not a good idea to have a bigger sail....
