- Wes Borland, the legendary and costume wearing rock icon, most popularly known for being the guitar player of Limp Bizkit, joins the show today! Wes was incredibly candid and completely open talking on a variety of topics. Most currently, Wes shares about his live steaming show ‘Space Zebra’ that has begun to catch fire on Twitch. Go check that out because it absolutely incredible! He was so gracious with his time and played along with every single silly question we threw at him. We talked "side project" releases, if there was any backlash regarding his heroic comments relating to Marilyn Manson, and the time Wes leaned back in a chair, accidentally destroying it. He was captivating, funny and truly insightful. We couldn't possibly thank him enough for carving out some time in his busy schedule and can't wait to have him back (IN STUDIO) the next time he cruises through town.
Wes is such a humble open book of a person. One of my favorite humans alive.

Agreed. If all the people that hated the band knew what he was like in person they’d probably have a different perspective on the band. Maybe Wes more than the rest of the band.. but I see them as a bunch of misunderstood guys.

Wes Boreland is a visionary artist. Not just a great guitarist, but a great writer. His theatrics with his costumes have become characters he plays on stage. Legendary.

Nice pod guys. Just watched from Australia after recently watching the LB lollapalooza show (online). We've been back in lockdown here so it's great finding these longer interviews to pass the time.

absolute super mega powerhouse of an artist/musician. i'm so glad eat the day finally came out, its some of the best music i've ever heard. like he said on here, he's been talking (on the space zebra thing) about possibly scrapping the travis barker drums for the new black light burns cd in favor of like, sampling banging on metal objects like einsturzende neubauten or the art of noise. no matter what that new black light burns ends up being in the percussion department, its going to be absolutely awesome. both that idea and travis barker sound equally good to me, so maybe a coin toss to settle it, perhaps? make it an actual pirate gold coin from a treasure chest owned by an actual pirate though.

Dudes! Another great episode of The Dick and Boonies Podcast. I know I don't have to tell you guys that Wes is the real deal and a cool dude. I was lucky to meet him at Gordon and Nicole's wedding and after some liquid courage I went full Chris Farley Show with him and asked him questions and he couldn't have been nicer. So to see him on your show was awesome and now I'm totally interested in that 4 string guitar he came up with as well as his show on Twitch. Keep up the great work guys!

Seriously though, just wanted to mention that hearing the discussion about harassment and assault struck a chord in me on a personal level - he hit the nail on the head with everything he said about that. Men using their position to speak up on behalf of survivors is so important. Good on all of you for including it in amongst the lighter topics of conversation (like Black Mirror. Love that show!)
Hey Lirum! Thanks for the genuine and thoughtful comment. Pretty refreshing actually! Wes was my brother in law for 8 years or so.. Thus my excitement to talk to him. It had been a few years. And I was stoked that we mixed in a couple real issues along the way. Wes is a very progressive and outspoken individual so I knew we had to hit him with some real shit.
